On 6/3/2022, we purchased an Ozark 1660FQ travel trailer, vin #***************** for $28,891.95. The travel trailer has been out about a total of 4 times. This past May we discovered damage to it because of a roof leak. We have taken immaculate care of it and it developed a leak on the roof. The seam that leaked was a roof seam that was covered and should have been a permanent seal but apparently it is not and leaked and caused lots of damage to the front part of the camper. We had our insurance look at it and the adjuster and an reputable appraiser both concluded that it was dues to deteriorated seams/seals. According to the adjuster they could find nothing that we had done to the trailer. It is currently setting at ********************* service. They along with us have tried to get Forest River to take care of it since it was a covered seam that should have been properly sealed. Forest River will not even look at the trailer. They dont want to accept any responsibility for the deterioration This should be a manufacturers defect as it shouldnt be deteriorating in less than two years. I dont even trust the trailer after this and Forest River does not return calls and the one time I talked to a man there he was yelling at me. This is a lot of money to spend on a trailer and especially when the company wont back up its product. Its ashamed that they make such an expensive trailer and its made so cheaply and they cant even back up their product or even return calls.Business Response

Forest River is sorry you have had issues and trouble with communications. Our records show that the original Forest River Limited Warranty expired June 3, 2023. The request for warranty repair was denied because of lack of maintenance to the roof seals, which are to be inspected and resealed every six to nine months. Per pictures, the original seals show no maintenance has been performed. As a goodwill offer Forest River will to repair at no cost provided you cover transportation to and from factory. If you chose to agree please reach out to *************************** at ***********************************.
Thank you.

We purchased a 2023 Forest River Surveyor model #SVR260BHLE on July 28, 2023 from ****** in ******, ****. One of the main reasons we bought a new camper was so we didnt have to worry about anything breaking or not working. Well, a couple months ago, our refrigerator/ freezer stopped working. Called the dealership and they gave us an appointment a couple weeks out. We cancelled a trip around the date so that we could get it fixed. Dropped it off at ****** and it took them 2 weeks just to diagnose the issue (because they were so busy) and get the warranty had to get approved. We finally got tired of not having our camper so we just went and picked it up, still broke. Because we had other trips planned and didnt want to ruin any more family time. Side note: Let me tell you how annoying it is to have a nice, new camper, but have to revert back to coolers!!! Anyways, after some time passing by, we finally got a call that the part was in so we dropped it back off to ******. The supposive issue was the circuit board. The technician said that is the most common defect and Forest River is aware of ALL the issues with these units. We were not the first. So it took a couple more days but we picked it up right before our favorite planned trip! Finally, we were so happy that we had our camper refrigerator/freezer fixed and all the agony of the back and forth with Avalon/Forest River was in the past! We are here to say that all came to a screeching halt this past Saturday, the refrigerator/freezer stopped working. EVERYTHING WENT BAD!!!!! Probably close to $100 worth of food!!! We are upset to say the least. So much time was wasted on the phone, driving to the dealership, and rearranging our lives around some KNOWN ISSUES ! Not to mention money! Gas is NOT cheap and neither is FOOD! Are we going to get reimbursed for it, NO?!?! I want my fridge fixed or replaced without any more runaround!Business Response
Date: 08/07/2024
Forest River has approved the claim for a full refrigerator replacement and will expedite the new refrigerator. The estimated shipment date will be no later than Friday August 9th.
Forest River apologizes for the inconvenience and frustration the customer has experienced. We are reviewing the Furrion FCR10DCGTA refrigerator (like the one installed in this Surveyor) to assure we are using the best product for our customers.

I have a complaint about FOREST RIVER, the maker of our Forest River Forester **. We have had SEVERAL issues with getting items fixed since we purchased the ** on January 9, 2024. We have emailed and spoken to **** and ******** (Manager) in the ******************* numerous times. Yet we can NOT get our issued resolved because they consistently send the wrong parts to ***********, who is trying to make the repairs. The biggest issue, but not the only issue, is the ****** bed, and because it is not fixed and Forest River sends the wrong parts, we cannot use it. What's the point in having an ** if we can't use the bed to sleep in, we can drive our car and stay in a hotel. We currently have several trips planned for the remaining summer months, and we cannot proceed with these plans until this problem is addressed. Furthermore, the recurring issues we've faced since the purchase of the camper in January, including multiple trips (5) for repairs (100+ miles round trip in camper and 2nd vehicle) and ongoing problems with the ****** bed, have greatly inconvenienced us. Despite making monthly payments of $750 and substantial down payment, we have not been able to enjoy our camper as intended. It is disheartening to feel as though we've been sold a defective product (lemon), especially considering the financial investment we've made. In light of these circumstances, we are requesting immediate action from Forest River to rectify the situation. We understand that resolving this matter may require logistical coordination. However, I know we have rights under consumer protection laws, we trust Forest River will take the necessary steps to address our concerns. If BBB has any recommendations, I am willing to try to resolve this.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: Although they fixed the bed issue, the ** does not work. It cuts off within 3-5 minutes of being turned on whether on the generator or hooked up to a power source. Both ******* River and Campers Inn are aware of this issue. I am driving, AGAIN (66 miles ONE WAY) down to *********** so they can trouble shoot the issue.
This AGAIN, is another issue with the new 2024 camper that we purchased less than 7 months ago.
Customer Answer
Date: 08/06/2024
I went to *********** and they tested my AC and said there is nothing wrong with it. I did come home and try to run it with the generator and it did stay on for more than 5 minutes. I'm not sure if there was an issue with my electrical hookup, but it seems the one they used in the shop seemed to work.
I would like to close this complaint as all issues seemed to be resolved at this time. Thank you.Initial Complaint

The ******* Backup Camera thats installed on their Forest River 2024 wolf pup is defective and camping world is saying its not their problem. When you buy the thing new with a full warranty for $26,000 dollars its pretty unreasonable to have this device not work properly. I would like to see a quick resolution from this company so that expensive litigation isnt needed. It can be life threatening to have this camera decide to just blatantly shut off causing an accident with such a large amount of weight behind you. This should work to its intended purpose.Customer Answer

I was contacted by Puma Forest River on July 9th 2024 in an effort to fix my new Puma Palomino Destination Trailer 402 LFT electrical issues. I was told I would have a local technician arrive at my coach to access and fix the issues. I was told on July 11th 2024 that no one local was available to come out to the coach. Forest River sent down a technician from *******. They arrived on July 12th 2024. They worked on it Friday night and arrived on Saturday morning to finish the issues. They left on Saturday about 1400 with the promise that they would send down someone on Tuesday the 16th to finish. I received a text at 0817 saying they still did not have a plan. I have called ***** in customer service, the technician that was supposed to come back, and the dealership with no one returning my phone calls today July 16th. The techs took my fireplace that had been fried by the electrical problem back to the manufacturer. I need my issues addressed, my fireplace returned and my awning arm that would not contract and was broken from rain water because I did not have enough power to bring it back in. I have paid the mobile tech: ****** for a trip to the coach ****** for awning arm I want that $915.81 refunded as well as my fireplace returned and the awning arm fixed and the electrician that came out on July 13th to help with a diagnosis which the techs said Forest River would reimburse him, they have a bill from him. Forest River can pay them directly.$450.00 Thank you for your help in advance.Sincerely,******************************* ************************************** ************Customer Answer

Forest River apologizes for the issues the customer has experienced. Our understanding is that an electrician was able to fix the problem. We have emailed the customer to confirm a shipping address for the fireplace.Customer Answer
Date: 08/19/2024
To whom it may concern:
No the not all of the required tasks have been completed. The fireplace has been mailed to the coach address, received this week. It has not been installed. I guess they think I will install it the 71 yo lady. The electrical issues have been fixed. Reimbursement has not happened for the electrician that worked with their technicians. Reimbursement to myself for $10
Business Response
Date: 08/28/2024
Forest River mailed reimbursement today via *** to the customer for the invoice paid out-of-pocket. If the electrician is seeking reimbursement, he will need to submit an invoice stating the repairs, or in this case the cause, complaint, and correction for the electrical issues that occurred with the unit, which can be sent to *********************************. We can assist that process as well if provided the name and phone number of the electrician. A warranty claim for the awning parts has been started and is in process.
Thank you.

I purchased a 2024 Wildwood *********** 44 View on April 20, 2024, from *************** in *******. The camper has a 12-month manufacturer's warranty which is through Forest River. We have had issues with the camper since the date of purchase. Forest river has sent out an rv tech to fix many issues we had on the camper the first time. My current issue is now we have discovered water leaking into the camper through various places throughout the camper. Water leaks in from light switches, control panels, spots in the ceiling and door frames. Upon noticing the water, we have discovered mold growing from where the water has been leaking. Walls are separating and the floor is also very soft in some places due to water buildup. We contacted Forest River on July 8th, 2024, and they advised us to bring it to a dealer who deals with forest river campers and have them provide a diagnosis to forest river. So, we brought our camper to Camping World in ******, ** where it is currently sitting due to not being safe to enter due to black mold. The rv techs at camping world have provided a complete list of issues with the camper and instructed forest river that the camper was not safe for anyone to enter due to finding black mold in every single wall in the camper. The rv tech said the mold was caused to due condensation buildup inside the walls due to the ** ducts not being properly sealed along with outside air coming in through various areas that were also not properly sealed. The rv techs have told us all of these issues due to manufacturing issues. Forest river is now trying to tell us that their warranty does not cover condensation buildup and we have to pay to fix all the issues with the camper. The condensation build up is due to poor manufacturing and not from misuse. We are now having to pay for a hotel and restaurants due to us not being able to stay in the camper and forest river not taking care of their poor workmanship.Business Response
Date: 07/24/2024
Forest River is very sorry to hear of these issues. We understand that the cause of these issues is potentially not a warranty related, that the unit concerns derive from condensation which is not a warrantable item. As we would still like to assist, we would offer as goodwill transport of the unit to factory for further testing to confirm the dealership report. Please contact ****** at ************************************ to arrange.
Thank you
Customer Answer
Date: 07/24/2024
I am rejecting this response because:
I understand that under normal circumstances condensation is not covered by warranty. However, the ** techs at Camping world who have been diagnosing the issues have found issues with the air conditioning leaking air into the walls due to poor quality worksmanship. They have also found many other issues including leaking water pipes and plumbing pipes ghat would also add to the condensation issue. All of these issues have been documented and sent to ****** at forest river and no response has been given. ******* river is refusing to even pay camping world for the diagnosis even after telling us they would. We have also been trying to contact ****** personally by calls and emails and have received no responses from her. This is completely unprofessional and unacceptable. The unit has now been unusable for more than 15 days. We are now seeking legal representation and we will take legal action.Business Response
Date: 07/30/2024
We are sorry you feel we have not been accommodating. Per our conversations with Camping World, their statement was wet spots, not mold. We maintain our offer to transport the unit back to ******* to have a third-party mold inspection done.Initial Complaint

Purchased brand new 2024 Forest River Wildwood 270RTK from ********** in *******. We live near *********, **. Get home and 1. diamond plate on the front is falling off, screws falling out, and not attached, 2. trim piece inside split due to being screwed in too tight and just left like that, 3. door for outdoor kitchen, once opened would not close and lock, door appeared twisted during manufacturing, likely due to installation unlevel, 4. screws not installed all the way on the awning track and sideways, and 5. lights on the front of the camper already peeling off, appears to be RTV'd on but not adhered, 6. piece of trim on the drivers side of camper has a wave and already pulling away from the camper enough to break the sealer, and 7. outdoor refrigerator didn't cool all the way. This is on top of the service technician having to correct reversed wiring and fix a non-working awning when we picked it up while went through the demo and testing (before we even took it home). Was supposed to have bunks in the toy hauler portion and they had to be installed at the dealer because they left the line without them, so now there is holes where the old hardware was. Trailer has been at ***************** in ******, Mo for 3 weeks and they can't get Forest River to approve the fix on the brand-new camper. Currently my ask is that they approve the items that it is sitting and waiting for, as a non-latchable door, unsealed items, and light strips not fully attached will only cause more damage if not fixed, and we are trying to get it taken care of before it gets worse. We bought Forest River because we thought they produced quality campers, and this is very disheartening.Customer Answer

May 15th I purchased a brand new puma vin number ***************** from ******************* rv in *****. I drove over 900 miles to pick this unit up. After taking possession and spending some further time going over the unit on my own time I have found many manufacturing and assembly problems and issues. Roof antenna not properly sealed from factory. Interior side walls not fastened properly causing tears in the wall paper and loose walls. Entry steps on front door not properly installed and installed in the wrong location causing the door to not close properly and bowing the door out at the bottom. Silicone on shower door not done correctly causing water to come out of floor when using the shower. Interior trim pieces loose throughout the camper from not being nailed correctly. Black water tank pipes leaking from not being glued properly. Fireplace has dust and dirt behind it from not being cleaned before installation. Rear toy hauler ramp door rubber seal is flat and not properly sealing. The authorized repair facility is having a hard time getting approval to fix warranty issues. My selling dealer is over 900 miles from me and they are no help at all. No other forest river dealers in my area will provide warranty work because I didnt purchase from them. I will never purchase another forest river product and I will spend the rest of my life telling others about my horrible experience and how forest rivers warranty department is the worst I have ever experienced. I have had to cancel camping trips with my kids and break their hearts because of the run around I have been getting since purchasing this unit 3 months ago. I am almost to the point of seeking legal counsel if the issues are not fixed properly and resolved.Business Response

I brought the 33TSX from the General RV in ***** on May ******* and had a inspection done on the camper the first week I had it home and then the following week went on vacation. Some of the camper lost Eletric so we had no AC and couldn't use some of the camper for two night until we located the panel box was not connected right and just had wires crossing over each other. That could have been hazard and a fire with my family in the camper. The awning fell not once but twice and thank god my family was not under either of the two times it fell. Someone really could have gotten hurt and than the shower leak all 8 days. I have pictures and document of all these major issue plus all the other issue that were found. this camper should have never left your product assembly or line.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
You didnt even touch base what is wrong with the camper. There could have been a fire. You are not taking this serious enough. The panel box 50amp was not connected. Do you understand the seriousness of the problem with that camper. What would have happen if it caught on fire with my family in it or the awning fall on one of my family members. We spend 8 days working on problems with this camper instead of enjoying family times and making memories. The shower leak for eight days into the bedroom. Fores River apologizes for the customer's experience and inconvenience, as we do take these issues quite seriously. For the customer's peace of mind, we offer to accommodate a third-party inspection of all systems and workmanship if requested. Review of warranty claim records indicate that we have authorized all labor requests on the day of submission and have expedited parts required.
Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
In your response you offer a third-party inspection, but you didn't give me the name of the third-party inspector or the phone number. Plus, you should add one or two years more on my warranty. Because again this camper should have never left your facility. As we had to work on this camper the whole 8 days we were on vacation and my family could have been seriously hurt.

However, BBB does not verify the accuracy of information provided by third parties, and does not guarantee the accuracy of any information in Business Profiles.
When considering complaint information, please take into account the company's size and volume of transactions, and understand that the nature of complaints and a firm's responses to them are often more important than the number of complaints.
BBB Business Profiles generally cover a three-year reporting period, except for customer reviews. Customer reviews posted prior to July 5, 2024, will no longer be published when they reach three years from their submission date. Customer reviews posted on/after July 5, 2024, will be published indefinitely unless otherwise voluntarily retracted by the user who submitted the content, or BBB no longer believes the review is authentic. BBB Business Profiles are subject to change at any time. If you choose to do business with this company, please let them know that you checked their record with BBB.
As a matter of policy, BBB does not endorse any product, service or business. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation. BBB charges a fee for BBB Accreditation. This fee supports BBB's efforts to fulfill its mission of advancing marketplace trust.
