We cancelled our contract with Angi's Ads two weeks ago and they said they would take care of it in 1 to 2 days. I did not want to renew our contract. I had asked them if it was cancelled and they said yes. I also had asked if they were going to charge me again and ***** ***** said no. But they tried last Friday to charge me again. We called our credit card company to make sure it did not go through. It did not on Friday. We made sure to not let it stay on the card as a recurring charge. Today June 23 2025 they ran it again and got $900.00 on the card. My contract was supposed to be cancelled. I tried calling Angi's and they could not tell me if the contract had been cancelled two weeks ago.Business Response

My name is ***** **** and I'm disputing a cancellation fee that ************************** has charged me. The reason for my dispute is that they have not provided the service they sold me on, they didn't have my service set up correctly as they indicated, and they sent me fake leads to meet the assigned quota that I signed up ******** of transaction - 6/20/25 Amount of money paid - $1,225 What the business committed to provide me - I signed up with ************************** to receive between 3 to 6 sales leads per month for my residential construction business.What the nature of the dispute is - I signed up with ************************** on 4/14/25, and agreed to pay $350 per month to receive 3 to 6 leads. Within the first 2 weeks of membership we received 3 leads. For the month of May we received zero leads so on 6/3/25 I contacted my sales contact at **************************, she looked into my system settings and identified that on 4/30/25 a customer service *** made a mistake when ************************ settings and didn't enable my leads, it was labelled a forecast error. She then pushed me off to customer service in an attempt resolve the issue. **************** indicated that they had fixed the issue and my leads began to restart. When I contacted the 4 leads that I received once they corrected the issue, 1 was from a woman that lived in a retirement community and was clearly confused as to why I was calling, and the other was a gentleman from ****, ** that had never entered an inquiry into **************************. Whether or not the business has tried to resolve the problem - After they resolved the issue with my service being incorrectly established, then the fake leads began to appear. When I spoke to customer service again, they indicated that they could issue refunds for the fake leads but only if I continue as a member. I am not going to pay for fake leads and then have to waste my valuable time to dispute fake leads with customer service in order to receive a refund.Please let me know if you have any questions.************************Customer Answer

Wednesday 6/25/25, ************************** called my mobile phone from a phone number that my phone identified as suspected spam and they left a voice message. That message was as follows - "This is ***** from customer service calling to see if there's anything that we can do to address your business concerns, please call me back at ************" I did not respond to this message.
Thursday 6/26/25, ************************** called my mobile phone from a phone number that my phone identified as suspected spam and they left a voice message. That message was as follows - "This is ***** from customer service calling for the final time to see if there's anything that we can do to address your business concerns, please call me back at ************"
On 6/26/25 I called ************ and asked to speak with Kayla. I was put on a brief hold and was told that they couldn't transfer my call to internal employees. I confirmed with this person that I'm returning a message left by ***** to call this number and they couldn't transfer me to her, to which she said correct.
I'm not sure how ************************** will be responding to my BBB complaint, but the example above is a great example of how this company has misrepresented itself to me and has not lived up to their end of the contract. A contract that when I cancelled, I was penalized $1,225 on top of the $700 that was spent for 2 months of meeting zero service that I signed up for.

I am very disappointed with this company. I bough a membership on May ******* to have more customer for my cleaning business and they promised me 25 customers and they said i could have ******** on the works case every month but they only send me 14 on total and out of the 14 I only had 2 the leads are totally trash, many of them didn't answer, or they were looking for job not the cleaning service. they refused to replace the bad leads or to complete the the 25 leads. I called to cancel and get my money back but they only told me that this month was going to be much better and very sorry for the month before so on June ******* they took an other payment out and on Saturday 14, they send me 2 more leads and I called then without any answer at all. I called then on Sunday 15 to cancel the membership for second time and they canceled but refuse to refund the 2 months when I on only used 1 and not even the 25 houses they promised me plus they charge me 1617 for early termination. now my credit card is in dispute of this transactions because is unfair should be against the law to force people to stay with them even the are a scam . they. if they kept their promises no one would cancel. now they are threatening me to send it to collection to ruin my credit if i don't pay them. I need your help to put a stop to this fraudulent companies. they are also taking advantage discriminating me for being a Spanish speaking.Business Response

We appreciate Sonia's concerns, and we're so sorry to hear that they had seen anything but success through their advertising with Angi. After reviewing the complaint we did launch a full quality assurance investigation into the sales and onboarding process. Upon review our quality assurance team found no misleading statements, no miscommunication, and that the early termination fee was explained. The fourteen leads that Sonia is referencing were received within the first week and a half of the account being approved. Following this Sonia asked for there to be adjustments in both covered categories and service area. When these categories and service areas were removed it did lower the expected amount of received leads. This was explained during the account adjustment process.
We do understand that Sonia had attempted to call the leads, however many homeowners may not answer unknown calls, or can easily speak on the phone. We do offer pros the ability to message homeowners directly through Angi. We do also highly recommend reaching out through both text and email. We also provide a way for the pros in our network to report any leads that have concerns. This can be done directly through the app or pro page. This allows us to better review the leads received, and replace any leads deemed invalid. Our management team has reached out to Sonia to review the leads, go over best practices, and provide information to help Sonia see more success. Sonia has declined this assistance, and simply requested to cancel. Sonia has also stated that money owed will not be paid and to send the account to collections. Given that we have attempted to work in good faith, did not misrepresent the product, and any lower lead totals was a result of Sonia's requested account adjustments the early termination fee and past due balance will not be waived. We do ask that Sonia contact our Business Center directly with any questions or to provide payment.

[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.] I am not satisfy with the answer because I called multiple times to complain about the scam leads and I even rated but their answer was SORRY BUT NOTHING WE CAN DO! they told me to try one more month and probably will have luck this time. they admitted sending me only 14 of 25 and only a week and a half not even a month when I called them they told me I didn't have enough budget and I removed the janitorial and recuring service then they told me I was going to have 25 or probably more because one time cleaning cost less then the other leads. they took and other payment and send me 2 more leads and they were the same junk. yes I removed a few cities far away because I don't want to go that far. why you are lying you never tried to replace the bad leads. even today I had a phone call with someone in Spanish and he didn't give me a solution instead he told me they going to send this to collection against me. I asked him questions if he would be ok to get charged for a service dint work he didn't have answers. I need to say also that BBB should not let this scam business to give services scamming little businesses like mine. they want to forced me to pay the early termination fee as if they were a good company. Walmart, amazon, etc. and if have something you don't like you can return it but this angi wants to steel suppostly legal. I though I was the only one scammed but NO you have more the 2000 complaints.

6/2025 I signed up for a service and I am not receiving what was promised. All calls get dropped or not connected. I call Angi to get help and I get disconnected or they hang up on me. I spend much money for no return. I want to cancel this "service" and they want to take 35% from me! Yet, I get nothing from them for $550. a month. No actual leads that bring a customer. Had a booking for a grill assembly on 06/16/2025 I rescheduled it due to work. Angi rescheduled it to 06/18/2025 I took off work to have this done, i received a email a few minutes before the scheduled time Angi had canceled and rebooked the assembly. Then Angi rescheduled it to 06/20/2025 I took off work to have this done, i received a email a few minutes before the scheduled time Angi had canceled and rebooked the assembly. I called Angi and spoke to customer service on 06/20/2025 they offered to reschedule the assembly but could not confirm it would be done. I asked that they either confirm it would be done or refund the fee. I was then transferred to the cancelation department and was told that Angi would cancel it and I would be compensated for the cancelation. The repr came back on the phone and offered if he could give me credit toward a new Angi booking I declined and he said he would cancel the booking, and I would get compensated. Put me on hold for a few minutes and the call was dropped. Called back and was told there was no such thing as being compensated, was transferred to another agent and was then told the same thing, I asked for them to rebook it and guarantee that the work would be done, put on hold and was then told no they could not do that. He was referred by ANGI online to refinish and paint my dining set in February. He picked it up, I paid half $250. Now he cannot be reached. ANGI is unable to reach him. I purchased 2 dressers from *******. I also ordered assembly for them. After I recieved the items I called ******* to inquire how I set up assembly. They said it would be thru the company Angi. They transferred me to them. It appears the "assembler" was scheduled by ******* without my knowledge. He said he'd been to my home, called, and texted. I was home and have no call or text. It appears he did it thru Angi. Since I had no idea that ******* used Angi for their assembly I would not have any info about this. So now my "assembly" is considered completed. The Angi *** attempted to helpful but nothing came of it. I get so much runaround and no resolution. ******* doesn't help.I do not want a refund in my assembly. The Angi offered to get my assembly for 50% of the fee. I had already paid it in full. Now I was asked to pay 50% more? I do not want a refund. I want my assembly done . Angis sales *** has not been transparent over the phone when I first signed up on May 22, 2025. They NEVER say the contract is subscription binding and its 12 months, and the price I signed up for is $595 for the estimate of ***** leads. They of course first insisted on $1870 subscription but luckily I dont have that money. Next thing I dont receive more than 20 leads in 2-3 weeks and I just stop receiving the leads without any explanation. I called them and they said you spent your monthly budget which is stated nowhere in the contract and never communicated during the sign up. WHOLE COMPANY IS CONSTITUTED IN BAD FAITH, I will submit the agreement if needed so you can see that NOTHING absolutely protects the consumer, the contract is written in BAD FAITH. I called them to request the transcript of the recorded call with the sales *** when I first signed up they said I need an attorney for that which I consulted an attorney and he said by FL Law that is not required and you have full rights to request that since you are on that call exposing your personal information. Then another person answers the next day when I gave them another chance and he says the court needs to subpoena it. Then he checks and he says that they do not record their phone calls, and when you call them first sentence is you are on the recorded line. Anyway, they are a big SCAM since from the 20 leads I received 6 were good others were scam where people were sending me to h*** that they never requested anything.Also, if I want to cancel their services I have to pay 35% of the remaining contract amount. OUTRAGEOUS! I will not pay them a dime anymore. I want a full release WITHOUT ANY FEWS So no more chances for Angi.Business Response

After reviewing ******'s account, we can confirm that 32 leads were received between 5/26 and 6/25. ******'s advertising agreement does state that approximately 24 - 41 leads will be sent each billing period. A supervisor attempted to reach ****** by phone to discuss the concerns brought to our attention here, but was unsuccessful. In February I called to cancel this service as I was only receiving junk leads for jobs from them. The leads were either wrong numbers or the person did not want anything done and worst were the scams, trying to get my bank information. So, when I called, they said I could keep my account until it's expiration in March. They also offered a free lead, which I accepted before my account expired. The "free" lead turned out to be a fraud again. So, I called letting them know that I made the required 2 calls...to the "customer " and it was another one of those leads that they didn't know why I called and didn't need anything. After explaining, they said it was not going to be free and charged me $139.28. . I was told this would be free and it was the only reason I gave Angis a chance again. Now, they are threatening me with collections. Please help.Business Response

We're so sorry to hear that Benjamin's experience has been anything but positive, and that there was any misunderstanding regarding the free lead. After reviewing the account Benjamin was given two free leads if they agreed to continue advertising. Benjamin did agree, and did receive the next two leads for free. Following this Benjamin did receive notification that a homeowner did want to speak with them about a project. Benjamin accepted this lead and was appropriately charged. Benjamin failed to make the required payment and their account was terminated and sent to collections. Given this was a single instance we have waived the past due balance and are removing the account from collections. Benjamin will have no further charges and the balance is clear. If Benjamin has any additional questions or concerns we do ask that they contact our Business Center directly for assistance.
