I purchased 2 dressers from *******. I also ordered assembly for them. After I recieved the items I called ******* to inquire how I set up assembly. They said it would be thru the company Angi. They transferred me to them. It appears the "assembler" was scheduled by ******* without my knowledge. He said he'd been to my home, called, and texted. I was home and have no call or text. It appears he did it thru Angi. Since I had no idea that ******* used Angi for their assembly I would not have any info about this. So now my "assembly" is considered completed. The Angi *** attempted to helpful but nothing came of it. I get so much runaround and no resolution. ******* doesn't help.I do not want a refund in my assembly. The Angi offered to get my assembly for 50% of the fee. I had already paid it in full. Now I was asked to pay 50% more? I do not want a refund. I want my assembly done . I tried reaching out to Angi as they ask when you are about to file with the BBB. No result.Business Response

Angis sales *** has not been transparent over the phone when I first signed up on May 22, 2025. They NEVER say the contract is subscription binding and its 12 months, and the price I signed up for is $595 for the estimate of ***** leads. They of course first insisted on $1870 subscription but luckily I dont have that money. Next thing I dont receive more than 20 leads in 2-3 weeks and I just stop receiving the leads without any explanation. I called them and they said you spent your monthly budget which is stated nowhere in the contract and never communicated during the sign up. WHOLE COMPANY IS CONSTITUTED IN BAD FAITH, I will submit the agreement if needed so you can see that NOTHING absolutely protects the consumer, the contract is written in BAD FAITH. I called them to request the transcript of the recorded call with the sales *** when I first signed up they said I need an attorney for that which I consulted an attorney and he said by FL Law that is not required and you have full rights to request that since you are on that call exposing your personal information. Then another person answers the next day when I gave them another chance and he says the court needs to subpoena it. Then he checks and he says that they do not record their phone calls, and when you call them first sentence is you are on the recorded line. Anyway, they are a big SCAM since from the 20 leads I received 6 were good others were scam where people were sending me to h*** that they never requested anything. Also, if I want to cancel their services I have to pay 35% of the remaining contract amount. OUTRAGEOUS! I will not pay them a dime anymore. I want a full release WITHOUT ANY FEWS So no more chances for Angi.Business Response

We appreciate ****** bringing their concerns to our attention and sincerely apologize that they had anything but a positive experience while advertising on our platform. After reviewing ******'s account, we can confirm that 32 leads were received between 5/26 and 6/25. ******'s advertising agreement does state that approximately 24 - 41 leads will be sent each billing period. A supervisor attempted to reach ****** by phone to discuss the concerns brought to our attention here, but was unsuccessful. In an effort to resolve the complaint, ******'s account has been cancelled and the early termination fee will be waived, as requested. ****** is welcome to reach back out if there are any additional questions or concerns and we're happy to assist.Initial Complaint

In February I called to cancel this service as I was only receiving junk leads for jobs from them. The leads were either wrong numbers or the person did not want anything done and worst were the scams, trying to get my bank information. So, when I called, they said I could keep my account until it's expiration in March. They also offered a free lead, which I accepted before my account expired. The "free" lead turned out to be a fraud again. So, I called letting them know that I made the required 2 calls...to the "customer " and it was another one of those leads that they didn't know why I called and didn't need anything. After explaining, they said it was not going to be free and charged me $139.28. . I was told this would be free and it was the only reason I gave Angis a chance again. Now, they are threatening me with collections. Please help.Business Response

We're so sorry to hear that Benjamin's experience has been anything but positive, and that there was any misunderstanding regarding the free lead. After reviewing the account ******** was given two free leads if they agreed to continue advertising. ******** did agree, and did receive the next two leads for free. Following this ******** did receive notification that a homeowner did want to speak with them about a project. ******** accepted this lead and was appropriately charged. ******** failed to make the required payment and their account was terminated and sent to collections. Given this was a single instance we have waived the past due balance and are removing the account from collections. ******** will have no further charges and the balance is clear. If ******** has any additional questions or concerns we do ask that they contact our *************** directly for assistance.Initial Complaint

Lied to me to get me to sign up. After a week of being with them, I had already reached my monthly budget. They rope you in for year promising all things that will never come true . They send lead that are not real and ones that it is impossible to contact the lead. I was told that i could get out of the contract if it just wasn't a right fit for business , that was not true.Business Response

I contacted Angi to do an assembly job for a new trampoline on June 13th. Angi sent a ***resentative out to do the job that completely ruined and damaged my trampoline. My daughter tried to jump in it and almost broke her arm! When i contacted the **** he stated that the parts were cheap and to try and order another one. I contacted Angi to let them know the situation and they sent out another *** to ***air the job. This yep was very nice and confirmed that the previous *** had damaged the trampoline and i needed to request a ***lacement. He contacted Angi for me and let them know the situation and that it could only be fixed if i got a new trampoline. They told me to request it from *******. I did this and ******* refused to refund or ***lace it because it didnt arrive damaged. It wasnt until the Angi worker started to assemble it that it became damaged, and that Angi should be responsible for the refund or the ***lacement. I contacted Angi to let them know this and they gave me the run around. First they told me to contact the ***. **** is definitely not a resolution because that man would not even answer the phone. Then they told me to complete a damaged form to request a refund. I did that and when i called to ask about the status and to make sure my docs were uploaded correctly, they told me that they dont know anything about a damage department or form and they dont have a number to connect me to. Then they tell me to contact *******. I call ******* and they tell me to file a claim. They give me a bogus number to a claims department for a grocery settlement from 2024. This is poor customer service on everybodys part. ********************** needs to take accountability and refund me for the damages that their worker has caused so that I can get my merchandise and my children can enjoy the gift that i purchased for them. I am filing a formal complaint against Angi (formerly Angies List) regarding a troubling experience I had as a newly signed-up Pro member and business owner on their platform. On June 16, 2025, between 5:05 PM and 5:08 PM CST, I contacted Angis support after being transferred multiple times and receiving no resolution through online chat. The reason for my call was to correct an error in the advertised marketing budget. Prior to enrolling, I was told that up to $500 would be applied toward my advertising budget, but once signed up, this amount was incorrect and could not be verified or adjusted. When I reached a representative named ****** from the supervisor department, I requested clarification. However, ****** was unprofessional, dismissive, and refused to provide his last name for reference. He did not make any effort to investigate my concern and was unwilling to provide a resolution or escalate the issue ********** a new business owner investing in Angi to gain exposure, I expected professionalism and support in addressing legitimate concerns, especially regarding billing and marketing terms. This experience has left me extremely dissatisfied and hesitant to proceed with the platform.I am seeking the following resolutions:A formal review of the original marketing offer and a correction to reflect the promised budget An apology and internal review regarding ******* conduct Clear written confirmation of terms and billing moving forward I hope this complaint prompts meaningful action from Angis leadership and improves the experience for other small business owners.Business Response

We appreciate ********* reply and apologize that our teams did not get in contact with her. ******* spoke with a supervisor on 7/1 who has assisted with addressing her concerns and resolving this matter. He reassured her that we are taking steps to coach our representative, and offered to update ********* contract to her desired price point. To help alleviate her frustrations, he also offered a $150 manager discretionary refund.
Since the account is past due, he explained that our offer to update the contract and process the refund is contingent on ******* making a payment on the past due amount. He also clarified that if ******* upgrades the contract, it would renew on July 15, and the refund would be processed after her payment.
******* seemed receptive to this offer and had no other questions or concerns. She did request a callback that same afternoon to consider the offer, and 2 attempts were made to call her back, but the supervisor wasn't able to reach her so he left a voicemail advising that she can contact our Pro Support team at ************ to accept the offer.Initial Complaint

Angi used a terrible contractor to install three ceiling fans in my new home last year. The contractor did the work poorly, did not install remote control kits, did not advise me that the full features of the fans would not work because he did not install the kits, then took all the kits and instruction books with him when he left. Additionally, he left grease and damage on mu ceilings in three rooms, left mud on my rug, did not balance the fans properly. I have been trying for months to get Angi to get this taken care of, as they have a one year guarantee on the work. They keep scheduling appointments with a contractor, then less than 24 hours out from my appointment, I will get cancellation notices followed by notification that a new appointment has been scheduled - without consulting with me, and at times that I cannot be present because of my job. After this happened a couple of times, I asked them specifically to contact me before scheduling. This happened last week, we agreed on a time and date - and then once again, this afternoon the appointment was canceled and rescheduled without my input. Their phone service is terrible, seemingly outsourced to someplace like *****, and they have repeatedly left dishonest notes in their customer service system, claiming that I canceled or was not present for an appointment. None of this has been my fault - it has been their unprofessional and unskilled contractors, and their poor phone service. I just want this job completed safely and properly. That shouldn't be too much to ask, and it shouldn't take so much time for them to uphold their end of the bargain.Business Response
