1 starI took my 2018 ****** Rogue for an oil and filter change on May 27, 2023. As the technician was taking out the filter, he broke the clamp. The manager's response and solution to the broken part was for me to go to a junkyard and get another one. This is the second and will be the last time that the technicians at this facility have shown their incompetency, lack of training, and lack of skills. A few months ago, I took my **** F150 in for an oil change. A few days later, I noticed evidence of oil leakage from my truck. I took it back to this facility, where they had apparently not done the work properly. I wish I could give it zero stars.Review fromRaShavia D

1 starPLEASE do NOT go to this place. I took my 02 Chevy Trailblazer to the on on Refugee Road, in Pickerington. My truck was running fine I did not have any problems driving it or anything wasn't smoking, leaking, or anything of that matter. I got a oil change 5/10/2023. Previously two weeks before my mechanic had just replaced my muffler. He also verified that I didn't have any leaks nor issues with my truck. Valvoline did my oil change, asked all the question they ask, about replacing the filter all that. NO ONE EVER mentioned my truck having a leak from fluids or anything. After leaving them no more than 45 mins later my car started smoking, and the speed started decreasing, it wasn't accelerating past 50 mph. Which forced me to pull to the side of the road, I called them and the manager of the store sent out one of the techs at the store to see whats the problem. The tech didn't do much but look under the hood and tried to back it up and it wouldnt do anything for him. So he deemed the the issue as a Transmission problem. I had ZERO problems with my car before they changed the oil. I had to tow my truck back home, miss work, miss my kids events at school all because they were careless. I reported the issue to Cooperate and nobody never got back to me about my claim, i had to email them 3 times and they finally replied and said my claim was denied because they didn't touch my transmission at all. but thats a total lie how else did it get messed up?Review fromMichele H

1 starWe picked Valvoline because we trusted the national brand. The staff here changed our oil on August 5, 2020 but the cap was not secured correctly so it fell off suddenly while my son was driving us on the freeway the next day. All the oil fell out, the warning lights were all flashing and chiming, and then our car seized completely and we had to be towed to a local garage. Valvoline manager Troy apologized for their negligence, then paid directly for replacing the oil. Everyone applauded with relief when the car was able to start. But we were solemnly warned by the garage owner that even though the car started, the fact that it had seized damaged the metal parts in a way that could lead to future engine failure. Troy also acknowledged this risk and Valvoline's responsibility to cover damage that might present in the future. He gave us a "customer care" case number for the corporate Valvoline office, and when I called them they were very supportive and reassuring that they would cover us for any future problems with the engine that may arise. But 11,000 miles later our engine developed a "lower engine rod knock" and we were told it was no longer safe to drive because it could seize on the road again. But when we called Valvoline customer care to report the damage they promptly CLOSED our case, informing us that we could not prove that the problem with our engine was in any way related to the initial engine seizure caused by the sudden loss of oil. We tried many times to discuss with them but they washed their hands of us completely. The regional manager Dominic Torlish has continued to block us from any correspondence with Valvoline headquarters, and he is adamant that he will never pay a cent for the damages. We decided to share our experience only after a full 18 months of attempting in good faith to obtain coverage for our damages from Valvoline. We don't want others to make the same mistake we did by thinking Valvoline stands by the quality of its product.Review fromBrigitte B

1 star0 stars should be an option. We have been getting oil changes for years at Valvoline. A few months ago our truck motor had a blown head gasket and we purchased a replacement motor. After getting yet another oil change the motor started ticking. When we took the truck to a repair shop we were informed that we needed yet another motor or fix the one in there. After taking the engine apart the shop informed ** that the cause of the engine damage came from an incorrect filter which did not seal properly and was installed by Valvoline. I contacted Headquarters and received a Claim number only to be denied. The claims adjusters explanation was:" we install 100's of these a day for your kind of truck". Yeah and maybe there are hundreds of engine issues that did not make the connection. I have a mechanic statement and 2 additional shops that said the same thing. After thousands of dollars of fixing our truck I am questioning if this was the cause of my original engine going out. I will be pursuing this til this gets resolved.Review fromMat S

1 starWife's car began to sputter a couple days after an oil change. Diagnosis by a local shop was 2 extra quarts of oil were in the engine. This caused the spark plugs to foul and could have led to more significant issues. I've gone in person twice to get a refund on the service. I've had no success on either and keep being told the manager and/or customer service is out and will contact me the next business day.Review fromJulie R

1 starWhat a rip-off. They went up 200% in 4 months and treat women like banking machines. They refused to accept their own coupon because they were running a special. Special terms were only on the sign I did not see trying to cross traffic. Nor was the special mentioned when I asked for only an oil change. Regular oil, not the synthetic.I pad $25 four months ago. I paid $38 today (my coupon was refused) .Please close this business that rapes women!Review fromDylan B

1 starPlease do not use Valvoline. They messed up a routing oil change causing my wife to breakdown on the side of the road and when we submitted an invoice for repairs they declined without being fully able to explain why. Please please just go somewhere else for oil changes, there are plenty of options out there.Review fromElmer L

1 starI bought a battery from this location that they installed stating that there's a 3 year warranty on the battery. When I started my truck the battery exploded it sounded like A-bomb went off. I had to pay out of my own Pocket for a toe for my truck the new battery the diagnostic to make sure nothing else was damaged loss of time for work and using a rental car for A-day. Once I sent them the bills they changed from helping to no way.Review fromDeion C

1 starSon took his car here to get an oil change. A senior technician saw a hose under the hood that was disconnected and reconnected it. NOTE: There was no notification made about this issue. My son PAID. However, as soon as the car was down the street the check engine light came on. A call was made to the senior technician on duty regarding the issue, however due to the shop nearing closing time and no manager being on duty, the technician stated he would come to our location and look at the car and show us what hose had been reconnected. After being advised by the technician of the hose that was reconnected, we had the car towed to the dealership to diagnose the issue. Yes! I also called the manager (*****) at this Valvoline location notifying him of the issue. I was quickly instructed that he knew nothing of this issue and it hadnt been reported to him by the senior technician (who was the manager on duty, but no longer works at this location), nor the other technician who worked on the car. Therefore, he wasnt going to honor anything, BUT I could file a claim and see where it goes? Fast forward to the dealership diagnosis.the dealership found a cap that had been forced into the intake hose that was reconnected. This caused a vacuum restriction. Photos were attached and it showed how the hose clamp wasnt attached properly. The dealership bill was $425.Well, after providing photos and detailed descriptions of what had been performed .he denied the claim and wrote a new version of the claim. ******** care doesnt consider anything provided as proof of wrong doing. Photos and service reports meant nothing. This is still an unresolved claim. The manager decided at the end of the call to offer partial payment and a free oil change coupon as the consolation prize.lol. I Would never go back.Review fromEric H

1 starI’ve been a years long customer. Never had an issue. Despite being warned by family and friends about the poor quality of work, I still patronage the franchisees.
So to say I’m greatly disappointed in the way they’ve addressed the issue of Valvoline cracking and then tearing a hole in my oil pan, is a massive understatement.
Even with video of an certified mechanic detailing the damage both services centers are deny fault!!
1231 Main Street, Watertown, CT 06795 and 150 New Britain Avenue, Plainville, CT 06062
Needless to say I will NEVER use their services in any city, state or small town no matter who oversees the franchise!
I also will NEVER suggest their services to my family friends and most definitely any of my brothers or sisters I served in the Navy with!! We deserve better.
Do yourselves a big favor and avoid at all cost. Go pay the extra money to ensure you don’t have to pay for a tow service after using Valvolines services!
