1 starI took my truck in for an oil change and fluid replacement in the rear differential. After a few days of driving it, the truck broke down, so I took it to my mechanic. It turns out that Valvoline did not put the appropriate amount of fluid in the rear differential and now I need to replace the entire rear end.I stopped by the location and talked to ******* who was very helpful, he printed my invoice and gave me instructions on how to file the claim after saying "it's clear we did it". So, I thought that Valvoline would take responsability....I could not have been more wrong. I filed a claim which of course Valvoline denied without even notifying me, speaking to my mechanic, anyone at the shop, or looking at the inspection results. Nobody reached out to me to update me on the claim, I had to pursue them. The ** rep told me that the claim had been denied several days ago. Still nobody reached out to me with an update. Keep in mind that I am without a vehicle for a week as of today. The area manager ********************* and the service manager ***************************, (who refused to even give me her full name) and hung up on me, are hiding behind the customer service representatives and stonewalling me.Do not give these people your business, they don't know what they are doing and when they damage your vehicle, they will not take responsibility for it.If I could give them zero stars I would.Review fromAllison M.

1 starThis Vavoline put too much oil in my car making it very dangerous for me to be on the road. Not even a half mile down the road when I hit the gas petal I would move at a very slow speed, if any speed at all. This caused cars to almost smash into me as I wasnt able to move properly on an active road. Additionally, the black smoke that came out of my car was a definite sign of trouble. I barely made it back half a mile down the road to the same Vavoline for them to fix the problem. My car is newer and has had no previous problems so I know this was an error on there end as it was perfectly fine before I arrived. I went back to the Vavoline and although the were fast to refund me the money it took two hours of back and forth for them to watch the tapes and the audio of what happened, for them to tell me what actually happened. They concluded that this was a miscommunication of the team. I understand that mistakes happen and we are all human but there should be a system that ensures the car is safe to drive off in, which this clearly wasnt.Review fromKaren G

1 starThis location has multiple complaints about offering services they aren't qualified to do. I'm speaking about the service for transmission when specifically asked can they service my car. The transmission transfer fluid service offered do not include a new filter when told they did by several employees employed for this company. Several days later I noticed by gears slipping when driving which prompted me to call customer service spoke with a supervisor who then told me they do not offer a filter when this work is done. However if you put fresh new fluid in a dirty area you're just going to be right back to where you started or more problems After this occurred I spoke to numerous employees at the location and supposingly the area manager. After repeating myself over and over the mgr stated he would review and return my call, to date this has not happened and this company don't seem to want to responsibility or be accountable for untrained employees selling a service they can't complete properly. I have requested a refund and again no response and this has been lingering trying to seek assistance since may 2024. At this point I'm not sure the oil changes are correct either since afterwards when I have it check I'm always 1-2 quarts below the required. Maybe this complaint will gain some attention and someone will finally contact me and not with a non working number or email to customer service who act like they didn't feel like working or answering the phone. This has been a nightmare and I want to let others know .Review fromCarla R

1 starI went there to get an oil change and AC charge and they charged me ~$358. The AC was just not cool enough but was working. After they charged it, it stopped working all together and I found a big puddle of green liquid under the car. I went back and they were extremely rude and refused to recharge the system and the manager demanded me off the property. Very unprofessional and refused to honor their work! BEWARE!!!Review fromMelissa R.

1 starOn 7/13/24 I went for an oil change and told the service guy I was going on a long road trip so please make sure all my fluids are checked. I'm prepared for the normal attempts to 'upsell' services, and I did agree to an new cabin air-filter. Service person #1 told me my battery checked out great. Later, service person #2, who was older and seemed to have more authority, said person #1 made a mistake and my battery was in bad shape and will die any minute. Of course he had a battery to sell me. I said that's hard to believe since this is a new battery and alternator, he flashed the monitor read-out in front of me with the needle in the red zone, and suggested I ask my mechanic why my battery is about to die. Service man #2 then told me he recommends a radiator flush- when I told him my coolant was flushed last week he said 'ok, you're set then'. I asked to take a photo of the battery read out, and when I got home realized the read-out was a joke! The voltage read at ***** V, which is fine, except in big red letters it read "BAD & REPLACE", with the meter reader in the big red section on the graph. Visually it is alarming if you don't read the facts and know what voltage your battery should be at. which I didn't know until I went home and researched. The next day I brought my car to the mechanic and my battery read-out was excellent, full power.I feel like they have a strategic system of manipulating people. These guys lied to my face, and it appears they rigged their equipment to show alarming results when the numbers are in normal range. That's putting quite a bit of effort into manipulating people! What's really sad too, is it appears the younger service guy 'admitted' he made an error when he didn't. I hate that good young people working hard on a hot day servicing cars are being pressured into dishonesty, and thinking this as an acceptable business model.Shame on you Valoline! I would rate at 0 stars, but this system requires at least one star.Review fromPatti H

1 starValvoline Knightdale (under water tower) - poor workmanship, items fell off of car after oil change. Skid plate fell off; went back for them to correct only to be told they have no nut or bolts that I needed to go purchase then come back. That very same day on my way to work, the oil pan dropped while I was on the highway, scared the life out of me. I put in a call to customer service. *****, manager, didn't seem to care...I truly recommend not using this oil change location. I understand good help may be hard to find but working on our cars demands quality service. I could have been in a serious accident two times because of them. Please think twice before using this location.Review fromGary S

1 starI do not recommend taking your vehicle to Valvoline. They forgot to put my oil cap back on the vehicle after the oil change, and they refuse to take responsibility for their mistake. I had to get the oil changed again because the filter surely got dirty while driving around without the cap. And, oil splattered all over my engine bay and chassis, which is a major fire hazard and will cause other parts to wear out from the oil as it dries. I had to get the engine and chassis steam cleaned to remove the mess and risk of fire, and they refuse to reimburse me for this expense. The area manager asked me to get a full engine diagnostic to prove the engine damage was a result of the cap being left off. Then, he also denied they did anything wrong. ***, then why the request for the diagnostic?Valvoline has done nothing to make the situation right, even though this was their fault. I don't recommend taking your vehicle to a place that lies to their customers and fails to take responsibilities for their costly mistakes.Review fromAshley L

1 starValvoline instant Oil Change in Bethalto, IL is a joke!! My daughter took her car there yesterday for an oil change, after the oil change there was oil on our carport, where she parks, and not just a little bit! we go to where she is so my husband can check it and we find a tool left up in her car and my husband had to tighten the oil filter. she takes it back today and they tell her that they just didn’t wipe up old oil and that’s what was leaking and told her that the tool isn’t theirs but they kept it! I call up there and speak to the manager, David, and proceed to ask him if the tool wasn’t theirs how did the worker who performed the oil change not see it while changing the oil and he tells me that she must have picked it up from the road after the oil change. I said so The tool magically jumped up off the road and attached itself to her car?! He said it happens all the time. They are refusing to give her a new oil change or refund. I called corporate and explained what happened and she puts me on hold to call David the manager and then she gets back on the line and proceeds to tell me exactly what he told me and when I told her it was ridiculous and they are a joke and I would be leaving a review she hung up on me!! We will NEVER go back to Valvoline!!Review fromGregory C

1 starI have used Valvoline for years, however with the new staff of untrained personnel has proven myself family and friends will never return there for business. They have become the worst half a** work facility I have ever encountered, and the so call management team at local level is even worse.I gave one star to many!
