Model **************** ********
I purchased a G.E. refrigerator appliance on February of 2025. It was purchased by **** ****** in Orem, UT.
On June 15th I started noticing that the refrigerator was not making ICE and the bottom part of the freezer was not cooling to the temperature of zero (0) degrees. My ICE cream was soft. So on June 16, I contacted the 800 number. The Associate at G.E. took down the information and confirmed an appointment for Friday June 20th, 2025. The appointment was between the hours of 12:00 P.M. through 5:00 P.M. I also received a confirmation e-mail from *****************
Confirmation number ********** The repair facility was ****** ********* ***** ****** ********.
On the day of the appointment I contacted ****** ********* ***** on two occasions and they did not answer their phone. At 4:05 P.M. on the day of the appointment I called G.E. and informed them that it was nearing the end of the day. Then at 5:05 that day I contacted ****** from G.E.
She was the supervisor on duty. She indicated that she had to send this information to an escalation team. This issue would take 48 hours. Keep in mind that this is Friday afternoon and G.E. does not have a back-up plan for the weekend of June 20th. I was very upset and frustrated because G.E. did not have another repair facility in the southern part of Utah. I expressed my dissatisfaction and frustration. This appliance is only 4 months old?. They contracted their repair services with a repair facility that is unloyal, the don't answer their phone, and failed to show up at the facility. "So I asked ****** a hypothetical question" What happens if all my food goes bad? Can I file a claim for spoiled food? She indicated that all G.E. would pay is $ 100.00 dollars. So in order to avoid my food from spoiling I contacted Ashley at **** ****** to help. She set up a loaner refrigerator to avoid my food from spoiling. Today **** ****** is bringing the loaner to me.Business Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
However, I want to inform G.E. that they need to treat their customers with empathy by offering some sorth of concessions. Stop quoting the written warranty and have some compassion. I am worried about my food, I could care less about the fridge. if a consumer pays $1,700.00 dollars for an appliance and it fails after 4 MONTHS!! the least they can do is offer some kind of concessions. This whole experience has been frustrating and disappointing . I am glad that the retailer RC Willey stepped up and provided a loaner fridge. If not I would be living with Coolers and bags of ice. My future experience will be to never purchase a G.E. product again.

GE dehumidifier purchased in Nov 2024. This was a replacement unit that GE partially paid for because the originally purchased unit was defective. The replacement unit was also defective, error message of E6 appearing, as before. Despite numerous attempts to fix this based upon GE website info, the dehumidifier still does not work. When I contacted GE on 6/16/25 (spoke with Anjali in Appliances and Angel in Consumer Relations), I was told that they would not refund my cost but could only do a partial reimbursement if I were to buy another GE unit. There is obviously an electrical defect in the units GE is producing and it makes no sense for me to buy another one. Additionally, the units are heavy and it cost me $50. to have someone cart off the broken units. The only fair resolution is for GE to refund the full purchase price.Business Response

The consumer advocate agency The ****** ******** suggested I email you all with my continued unresolved issues with my GE refrigerator. I filed a complaint with them also and unfortunately at this juncture I’m filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as well. I’m hoping to get it resolved with your help. I appreciate you reading this email and I look forward to hearing back with a satisfactory resolution.
I purchased six new GE appliances on 02/02/2021 when I purchased my condo. The refrigerator wasn’t delivered until June because of Covid and it still is covered under the 5 year warranty for closed systems (which the freezer is covered under). I had an issue right after delivery which was repaired and since then every 5 to 6 months the freezer stops working! THE SAME ISSUE HAS BEEN REPAIRED 4 TIMES NOW AND THIS NEXT REPAIR WILL BE #5! There is a slow leak in the freezer system which the techs can’t locate. I loose all my frozen foods and it takes weeks to get a repairman out and the parts ordered. During that time I’m without a freezer. The time before this time it was Thanksgiving and I was supposed to cook dinner and host for our family which all had to be rearranged because I had no freezer and I lost hundreds of dollars of frozen foods purchased for the holiday. Now this time it went out a week ago and I’m again without a freezer for 3 weeks until the parts can be ordered and the technician appointment can be reserved. That’s July 8th!! Again I’ve lost my freezer full of food! That’s 4 times I’ve dealt with this!
There is a slow leak in the systems WHICH THE TECHS CAN’T FIND. Tech #205 has been out with each repair and he can’t find the leak. Last time he had another tech come with him to help and neither of them could find the leak despite trying. The tech just orders the same parts (which are listed as costing $1200!) and replaces them but after 5-6 months the freezer stops working again because the same undetermined leaking occurs!Business Response

I purchased a GE combo washer and dryer in August 2024. Model ***********. In January 2025 the washer started to malfunction during the spin cycle and I was getting some loads finishing up too wet. By April 2025 all loads needed to be wrung out at the end of each cycle..I contacted GE Consumer Relations in April 2025. The first 2 appointments were canceled by the techs. The next tech to come out did get an error code when he performed a diagnostics. The code said the machine was off balance. I also had been getting this error code (the spin and rinse lights blink during the spin cycle to indicate an off balance situation). Note that this error code occurs even with NO CLOTHES in the machine. The off balance error causes the spin cycle to slow down thus leaving the clothes too wet. He adjusted the speed sensor and said nothing was wrong with the machine. I made another appointment and the next tech got the same error code and reported that nothing was wrong with the machine. Since these techs submitted reports that nothing was wrong, GE has refused to replace my machine. I have also had 2 more techs come out from the local appliance store that I purchased my unit from. They get the same error code and have tried replacing a part to no avail. This issue is still ongoing and hasn't been resolved. I believe the unit is faulty and should be replaced or refunded under the manufacturer's warranty.Business Response

I purchased a new GE refrigerator on December 3, 2024. It has a one year warranty. I have been trying to get GE to repair it. The icemaker would make very little ice. So, the company sent out A/E to repair the refrigerator. They tried three times, but it still will not make ice. I am thinking it has a bigger problem after a fourth repairman ******** stated it was "unrepairable. "
I have around 15 emails since March 2025 and the last email stated that I was approved for a new refrigerator. I was supposed to call to get the details. Upon calling ***** at GE she went into an apology saying that email was not meant for me. She wants to now continue with attempting to repair. I have no trust that this will happen. I feel they are holding out until the warranty expires.
I am so wore out by their dishonest and unfair treatment. Please help me. I feel I have been very patient throughout the long process with no benefit. Thank you.Business Response

The product was purchased less than four years ago from ABT.
I am seeking free replacement of a defective seal/gasket which results in the machine leaking and making it defective. I am not even asking for labor, as I will conduct the repair. This machine advertises a "10 year limited warranty" with a bright sticker on the front of the unit. This is a deceptive sales floor tactic that deceives a consumer (like it did me) into purchasing the product because of its advertised warranty coverage. However, it is only after purchase that a consumer is able to read the fine print in the user manual, in which the "10 year limited warranty" is only covered on the motor. This sticker advertised on the front of the unit does not reflect that information and should be considered fraud due to its trickery in deceiving a consumer to purchase the product based on its sales-floor advertising. My front load GE washing machine model# is ************, serial#*********, with front seal/gasket part# ********** that I need shipped to me so I may make the repair on the defective unit. GE is unwilling to cover that cost, though they advertise a "10 year limited warranty".Business Response

I purchased a GE refrigerator for $1,828 on February 15, 2025. It was delivered to my Merrimack, NH home on March 13, 2025. From day one the appliance has been a source of escalating problems.
Initial defect (dent in right-hand door). Within 48 hours I phoned GE customer service and requested a replacement door.
First replacement door (Service Visit #1). I used half a day of PTO to meet the technician. He rejected the door on sight because warped interior plastics prevented a flush seal.
Second replacement door (missed delivery /Visit #2). The part never arrived on the scheduled day, forcing the technician to cancel, and the defective first door sat in my kitchen for weeks until GE finally collected it.
Second replacement door arrives late (Visit #3). After another half-day of PTO, the technician found the identical manufacturing flaw. A third door was ordered.
Third replacement door (Visit #4). Yet again, the plastic liner was warped. At this point GE authorized an entire replacement refrigerator.
Replacement refrigerator delivered (Visit #5). The new unit arrived with the same door defect out of the box.
Current status. I emailed GE more than one week ago requesting an immediate, defect-free remedy; no one has responded.
I have now surrendered five half-days of PTO, rearranged my work schedule multiple times, and spent hours on calls and email chains—yet GE has not provided a refrigerator that meets basic quality standards.
Desired resolution
Primary: Deliver a door that is free of defects, installed and tested, within 10 business days. Full refund of the $1,828 purchase price and reimbursement for lost wages associated with five half-days of PTO
Alternate: Full refund of the $1,828 purchase price and reimbursement for lost wages associated with five half-days of PTO. As well as $1,000 store credit.
