      We requested a 5 year warranty (at no cost to us) from GE due to the extensive issues we have had with our GE dishwashers since December 2021. GE denied our request, even though it would cost them nothing unless their product breaks again. Instead, they offered us a 1 year warranty. We believe that GE has treated us unethically, and we wish to fight that they honour our request.

      Here are the details of what we've gone through with GE:

      In December 2021 GE installed a brand new dishwasher which broke one week after being installed. That first dishwasher was serviced 7 times and then replaced after many months of lengthy communications between GE and the service crew. Our second dishwasher was then installed and never worked. We then had to pursue, for months, the replacement of our dishwasher. A third dishwasher was finally installed and is now working after endless calls, endless service visits, and all the disruption this has had in our kitchen. This saga took six months to resolve, and during these endless calls to GE, one particularly male employee hung up on me (which would be recorded).

      This has been really time consuming and stressful. I have evidence of all the service visits and phone calls. I do not believe people should be treated this way by companies. It's simply unfair and unethical. I'm really grateful that you all exist and can fight for clients rights. Thank you!

      Can GE please provide us with a free 5 year warranty, considering we have had a product for 6 months that never worked. We really appreciate you all for understanding how challenging this has been and thank you in advance for honouring our request.

      [I requested a 5 year warranty, which GE denied, instead offering 1 extra year, which is not adequate. We have had 3 dishwashers, 2 of which never worked and our present one is broken. GE says they have met our needs by planning to send out another service crew, which will be our 8th visit from a service crew. This does not meet our reasonable request—GE sells faulty products that require extended warranties, as proven by our 7 month challenge of broken dishwashers. They claim they do not offer 5 year warranties, which is false, since we have received many offers to extend our warranty to 5 years. We are tired of pursuing solutions and astounded by the companies constant poor treatment of their customers.)

      I bought a Ge window air conditioner from ******* last year. My air conditioner was still under warranty. I was getting a error E8. I have bought window units from them for the last 22 yrs. I never once had a problem. The man said your air is broke you need to buy a new one. Then I looked further into it and it was still under warranty and the said I had to buy a new air conditioner. I said no it still under warranty and I’m on disability and I can hardly pay my rent I’m on poverty line.!Then a girl said the ok for a new one then the said no . I explained I am disabled I can’t really leave the house and I have a weak respiratory system with all my other issues. I live on the second floor of a 1902 building and 2 store downstairs. It get to be over 98 degrees and higher in here. I would like it if you spoke with them I am getting nowhere. I can’t afford to put out for another new air conditioner. The one that won’t work was brand new.

      I purchased a $3000 GE Profile refrigerator on 2/17/22, and it had to be replaced on 3/31 when the GE technician found it defective for regularly exceeding 50 degrees. The new fridge arrived in April and also started regularly hitting 55+ degrees by May. The ice machine stopped working because the temperature was too high to freeze water. GE said they would send me $225 for food spoilage, but they only sent $200 and to the wrong name! I contacted them and was told to destroy the check, and I'm still waiting for a replacement check two months later. Even worse, my fridge continues regularly hitting 55+ degrees and spoiling my food. I had to wait weeks for a GE tech, and after his visit today the fridge failed yet again. GE has refused to replace it, which is simply outrageous considering it is brand new and costs so much. I also found another complaint here that is almost identical to mine and shows that GE is aware of the manufacturing defect. I either want a full refund or to be able to swap for a different model, since I no longer trust this model.

      This is in regards to Complaint ID: ******** 

      GE exchanged my refrigerator with a broken compressor for a new one on Wednesday, and so I accepted the resolution. But now this fridge won't drop below 44 degrees, even though I've set it to 34 degrees, which is as low as it will go. I gave it a full 24 hours to rest, as per the owner's manual.

      Leaving food at 44 degrees isn't safe -- even the USDA says so: "Foods held at temperatures above 40 °F for more than 2 hours should not be consumed."

      Please don't close out this complaint yet! I need a fridge that actually works!

      I used the GE appliance water filter finder website (https://www.geapplianceparts.com/store/parts/filter-finder) and entered the first 8 digits of my refrigerator model number, GNE27JGM. It says, unequivocally, that my fridge takes XWF filters, which are available from other manufacturers.

      Before I bought the fridge I checked to confirm that generic filters were available for this fridge. They are for around $8-10 each.

      My fridge was delivered and recently turned on the "Filter Status" light indicating the filter needed to be changed. I ordered XWF filters, and when I installed one of these XWF filters, the fridge no longer dispenses water.

      When I replace the 'XWFE' filter that shipped with the fridge, it dispenses water again.

      This is blatantly deceptive false-advertising. Had I known I would not have bought a fridge that had a sole source for the filters. I am now locked into buying $50 filters for the life of my fridge. GE could stop making filters at any time and I would be completely out of luck.

      I received the parts, but the consumer website for finding a water filter (https://www.geapplianceparts.com/store/parts/filter-finder) still shows the incorrect model of filter for my fridge (GNE27JGM). It says 'XWF' is compatible, when it is not.

      I purchased a GE double oven model # *********** on 02/24/2022 for almost $3000 and it stopped working after about 2 months. I have about 6 service tickets with people coming and going all leaving without fixing it and for various reasons. Ordered parts 3 times and all I hear is constant excuses. Today I had a technician that GE sent and he is ordering 2 more parts that will take a while to receive and only then will they schedule me for another service date. This has been going on for almost 2 months I requested a new oven and that request was denied because they will only do that after their techs say the oven is not repairable! 6 techs, 6 new parts, and 8 weeks should be enough to determine that I need a new oven!

      [Yet another service appointment, number 7 in as many weeks! A rep called me and asked that I wait till after Thursday's service appointment to see if the tech can repair it and if not then I should call to see what my other options are. Now they are playing dirty games trying to close the complaint after don't nothing other than talking to me on the phone for 5 minutes! My only satisfactory resolution is a working oven!]

      On March 29, 2022 I purchased a new GE dishwasher from **** ****** On April 15, 2022 this dishwasher stopped working. I contacted GE warranty service and the scheduled a technician from *** ******* to come out on July 06, 2022. On July06. 2022, at the time when *** ******* was supposed to be at my home, they called and stated that they had to reschedule the appointment for July 20. 2022. On that day no one showed up and when I contacted GE back, they called *** ******* at that time and *** ******* stated that they had no one in my area to service the dishwasher. After talking to GE's Consumer Relations department, a few hours later, I received notification that they scheduled *** ******* to come out on August 15, 2022. How can they come service it when they have no one in my area to service it? Also been getting the run around from GE, and they have to have someone call me back in 48 to 72 hours! I am over two months without the use of my dishwasher, and GE has no idea when or who will repair it! Also when asked for some compensation for all my trouble and lack of use, all GE wanted to do was extend my warranty 6 months. What good will that do when they can't find anyone to fix it now!

      Purchased GE Profile Opal 2.0 from **** *** Order#*****-************. It has stopped working completely. I have troubleshot with GE over the phone for hours with no resolution. Because it is no longer in warranty, they want me to ****** them $250.00 to send the machine back to them to see if they can fix it. If they cannot, then they scrap the unit on site and will send me a refund of $125.00 What the heck kind of service is this?? ******? I dont even have ******. And they are asking for me to pay half the price of the machine and MAYBE they can fix it. Completely absurd and actually sounds like a scam because of how ridiculous it is.

      GE needs to stand behind their appliances. I paid $547.00 for this machine and it should not be having any issues as of yet, let alone not work at all. I am requesting a new or refurbished (in perfect working condition) to be sent to me. Or, a refund to purchase another machine where perhaps I should consider an extended warranty if one exists, since the company does not stand behind their appliances from what I can tell so far.

      Bought room AC from ******* $418 on September 25, 2021 (I have the receipt) with one year warranty (Model ************ Serial# *********). June 30, 2022 compressor won't come on to cool. Started call # in appliance book ************ five times never answered never returned call. Online tried to setup service call - no service in my area code. Called repair/warrantee #************ (******) call sent to Customer service #************ (*****) said ******* would warrant the unit (Calls on 7-20-2022). Went to ******* and informed it was GE warranty so they wouldn't warrant it. called left message customer service. ******* called me within 15 minutes and offered me a rebate on another GE appliance but not a refund. I certainly don't want another GE anything. I told her only a refund would satisfy me. GE Case number #********.

      I bought a brand new GE Cafe fridge in 2021. It since had issues with the freezer three times - all the same issue. GE has refused to recognize the fridge as a lemon and replace the fridge. Meanwhile, my family and I have had to suffer with a non-functioning fridge and with our food in our freezer melting and bad. To make it worse, the fridge is now technically out of warranty because GE has taken so long to order parts and reschedule service repairs (we have had to wait almost a month in-between each service call).

      The consumer advocate I have been working with has been extremely rude and condescending. Given there are recorded transcripts of all these calls from the GE call. I would like GE to make this right and either offer a complete refund on the fridge or to replace our fridge because clearly it is a lemon.

      We purchased a GE fridge from ***** and within 8 months, the fridge has malfunctioned, and we had to throw out hundreds of dollars of groceries. A service appt was made and was going to be over a week before a technician would be out to evaluate the issue. Two parts were mailed to our residence prior to the appt, and we did receive a call to confirm the appt the day before the tech was to arrive, which we did. The following day, no one showed up to fix the fridge and we had to call multiple times with no answer as to what happened or why. We were then told that we would have to reschedule the appt and received no apology or explanation. It is now going to be over a week again before a technician will be coming, which makes zero sense, because we never canceled the first appt. It will now be 2 1/2 weeks without a working appliance that is less than one year old. How is this reasonable service under any circumstance? GE will not be receiving further purchases from me or anyone who takes my recommendation to avoid buying a GE product in the future. No one has tried to rectify the situation, and we had to be on the phone countless times before even being able to reschedule our appt. Not to mention being stuck waiting on someone to show from a 12-5pm window and now will have to do this again, as well as having to take off work and not knowing whether someone will actually show this time or not. Frustrated does not even come close at this point to describe this experience.
