On 10/14/22, my daughter parked in a lot in ********** behind an eating establishment she was visiting. The lot has always been free parking for that business and those around it. I, myself, have parked there not long ago and there were no signs indicating a paid lot. We get a violation notice in the mail a few weeks later and ignored it due to the notice coming from *********** and from a business we had never heard of, Municipal Parking Services. We thought it was a scam. I had even seen a couple of Reddit posts stating it was a scam. After receiving a second notice, I went online, cautiously, to check out the website and file an appeal. The appeal was denied. I realize that my daughter made an honest mistake and did not know the lot was no longer free as she stated that she did not see any signs instructing to pay. My overall complaint is that the violation for a $10 parking spot was initially $65. Then after not paying the first notice by a deadline it went up to $105, for a citation notice total of $115. I understand that my daughter/we owe the lot the $10 parking fee, but tacking on $65-105 is absolutely ridiculous and completely unreasonable. I will be absolutely sure to never use a Premium Parking Service lot ever again.Initial Complaint

Today, I received an official looking "PARKING TICKET" from Premium Parking for $95 which stated the ticket was $75 and the Unpaid Parking Fee was for $20.. Second, this is made to look official when Premium Parking has no legal authority to enforce "tickets" or fines. They threatened me with being referred to collections and being subject to booting and towing. This is really extreme for an hour and 44 *********** on a Saturday. I think this is highway robbery especially since most places in the middle of the day on a Saturday in ****** allow parking on the week-end free until a certain time. Someone should look into what they are doing because I believe it is harassments and threatening which is a violation of state law. It should also be noted that they do NOT provide a phone number on this bogus, official-looking ticket to call to complain.Business Response

I stayed at the Kimpton in downtown ********* on the night of 11/19/2022. The only parking available is valet. They took possession of my car at 8pm until I retrieved it at approximately 11am Sunday morning. Today, I received an official looking "citation" from Premium Parking for $90 which stated that $15 was for parking and $75 was the "Ticket Amount." First, I believe they may be doing this to all visitors of the hotel which obviously has a relationship with Premium Parking. Second, this is made to look official when Premium Parking has no legal authority to enforce "tickets" or fines. They threatened me with booting/towing and collections. These guys are predatory and the ***************** should look into what they are doing because I believe it is harassments and threatening which is a violation of state law. It should also be noted that they do NOT provide a phone number on this bogus, official-looking ticket to call to complain.Business Response

Hi ****************,
Towne Park manages the valet portion and this complaint should be handled by them, but we decided to step in and just void the citation for you. We sincerely apologize for any friction or inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding. Your citation is voided and please disregard anything you get in the mail over the next 5-7 days.

11/06/2022 Once arriving in these guys parking lot, I got out my car, scanned the ** code, after realizing they were charging $50 per spot I left at 7:35 PM. I later returned to the same parking lot around 9:30 to drop someone off. I never parked and left my car in the parking lot. A few days later I received a parking ticket. *** tried appealing it and they will deny it without even talking to me about the case. I sent a receipt of me valeting down the street at the same time to confirm. Ive tried calling and numerous emails with no response.Business Response

On 10/17/2022, at the Hilton **************** in ******, this company charged me fees to park and I did not know it. There are no signs any where in the parking lot stating you have to pay to park, so people assume its free. I was only at the hotel for 1 hour regarding a business meeting with my supervisor who had reservations at the hotel. So far we have been contacting Municipal Parking Services through phone and email, and no one has reached out to us. There website keeps saying error when you enter in the citation number and/ or the license plate; So, I wouldn't be able to pay it even if I wanted to. Ticket number: *******. This company has a lot of bad reviews about sending paid bills to collections and putting boots on peoples cars. This is fraudulent behavior. Not sure if this company is even legit, but if customer support exists, I want to appeal this citation or at least pay the parking fee of $12. I now have to pay $77, which is fraudulent because there were no signs that I had to pay by license, pay to park, anything to begin with. So I wasn't given the notice, chance, or opportunity to pay the $12.Business Response

I used a premium app. it gave me a spot number P408 I pad for it and left my car then they put an immobilization and the parking was still active. They say that plate no in the system . But they already have all information. The application gave me the wrong location. It is no fear that the customer has to pay for the mistake of a legal business that enforce, causes and charge for something that is your problem. They dont wan to defund the money and wan to continue stolen the money of the consumer. Some body has to take action in this matter. ThanksInitial Complaint

I arrived in ******* on a vacation during the middle of the night. I was not aware of the parking policies. We were unsure where our rented room was as we were unfamiliar with our surroundings. We pulled up to a parking meter and attempted to pay for parking. Once we tried, and loaded $30 onto the premium parking app, we found out that there is no fee for parking at night in *******. Afterwards, we discovered that our room had a parking garage and, In the mean time, paid for our car to be parked in the garage for a week for $30 through the garage, not needing the app. Once we left the ******* area and returned home, I attempted to contact the company. The company is telling me the $30 I loaded onto the app is non refundable because it is a gift card. I am due the $30 back because I will never need to use parking as I do not live in an area where parking is paid. This should not be allowed as it was never told that the $30 would be a gift card. Please help me get my $30 back!Business Response

On the 21st of October at around 7 PM, I paid to park my car in a privately owned lot at ***********************************************. The lot was advertising $8.00 for the evening. I approached the nearest sign, about 30 feet from my car, scanned a QR code, made my payment ($9.43 after tax) and went on with my night. At 9:07, I received a citation from Glideparcs Enforcement for failure to pay. The citation was for $75.00. The citation displays several warnings about additional late fees and turning over to collections agencies if the owner fails to pay. I researched the company and discovered that this location at **** ****** is adjacent to another lot at *****************. These two lots are owned by different companies, Premium Parking and Diamond Parking respectively. The separation between the lots is not clearly indicated and signage is sparse. Please see the attached screenshots and photos. ****** Maps shows that both lots are owned by Republican Parking, but apparently their information is outdated. I found out that I made my payment to Diamond Parking, but my car was parked on the Premium Parking side. I contacted Premium Parking, informed them of my honest mistake, and asked them to waive the fees. Premium Parking was willing to reduce the fee to $45, but they closed the case afterwards, informed me the decision was final, and refused to have any further discussion. I would be happy to pay the original parking fee, but the additional penalties paired with the threats to increase fees and send to collections are, in my opinion, extortionate and predatory. This parking citation was received at Cruising the Coast car show in *************. These signs were poorly placed where the only thing visible was the "welcome cruisers park here" message. I have attached 2 photos to show the view we had that day when we parked. The sign in the picture listed as ***** Ave, was our view when we entered the parking lot. Once we entered the lot we turned left, headed away from the red truck, and found an open spot. Our only view of the sign at the entrance is pictured. We would have had to walk back to the entrance and approached the red truck to see the other side with the details about paying to park. Once we parked our car and exited the vehicle, we walked down the sidewalk on North Second Ave heading towards Main St where the cars were parked for the car show. The picture attached listed as N Second St shows our view of the sign when we were headed towards Main St. Once again the information about paying to park was not visible. We would have had to turn around and look in the direction we were coming from to see the pay information. Later that afternoon when we returned to the vehicle we noticed the opposite side of the signs with the information about paying, but it was too late at that point, we had already received the citation. As we were getting in our vehicle, I noticed several citations attached to the vehicles parked around us. We would have had no problem paying for the parking spot if the signs to pay would have been more visible. Judging by the number of citations I noticed on the vehicles around ours, we were not the only ones who didn't notice the reverse side of the signs with the information about paying. Thank you for your time and attention for this matter.Customer Answer

On 9/14/2022, I parked at ********************************** P2308-P2307) in *********, ** at 04:14:40 PM. There was no place to pay and no machine. I asked security sitting in their car on their phone, how to pay and they didn't know. I walked around for a while and found a sign. It wanted me to text a number and it would send me a link to pay. It didn't say how much the parking fee was. I texted the number they gave and nothing happened. I texted it again and nothing happened. There was no phone number to call to get assistance and no person there who could help. I then went to a restaurant. After a while, I finally got two responses to my text messages. I tried twice to use the link to pay, but it didnt work. There was no other way that I could figure out to pay. Since the technology was ****** difficult for an older person and I was unable to pay, I left the restaurant to move my car. I pulled out of the lot 1 hour and 28 seconds after I had pulled in. The company makes it difficult for older folks to figure out how to pay, there is no one there to help, no fees listed, and no phone number to call. Not too long after, I received a Citation in the mail (from ********* no less) for $95.00 plus the $30.00 parking fee! First, I think not listing your fees and then charging $30 for 1 hour and 28 seconds of parking is exorbitant by itself, but to then charge a $95.00 Citation when you did Not have a telephone number listed, a person to help, or even a sign listing your fees is outrageous. It is clear they make it difficult for less tech savvy or older folks to pay the parking fee on purpose so that they can collect excess money in the form of these citations. They give a website, again no phone number, on the citation to appeal but that is glitching as well. You are discriminating against older folks who aren't tech savvy, dont have a smart phone, or just dont want to download your app. This is a racket.Customer Answer
