Unbelievably awful company. I requested to cancel in November. They said it takes up to 90 days to cancel. After 90 days, I was still getting statements from them. I called them and they said that March would be my last bill from them. Well they lied, I am STILL getting statements from them. Stay far FAR away from these people.

This company is completely non transparent. NO WHERE are they even listed on my utility bill. I just assumed that they were part of our energy supply and when I cancelled them, they were STILL attached my utility bill! I had to finally get a confirmation number from them and make a screen shot of a customer service chat with my utility company stating that they have made a note in my utility acct that they can not be affiliated with our acct anymore. What this company does should be illegal!!

      Hello ****,

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear about the difficulties you are facing and can certainly do our best to help.

Your Nexamp credits appear on your National Grid bill under the "Other Charges/Adjustments" section as "Transfer Credit/Charges." Your utility will still issue you a bill each month for the electricity you use, but it will be reduced by the value of the Nexamp community solar credits that were generated. Nexamp will then invoice you separately for the value of the community solar credits, but at a 12.5% discount.

This process operates in arrears, meaning you receive the discounts first before Nexamp issues an invoice. To better track your savings, we recommend reviewing the production periods listed on your Nexamp invoices. These dates indicate when the electricity was generated at our solar farm. While they may not align exactly with the usage dates on your utility bill, they provide insight into how the credits were applied to lower your electricity costs.

Regarding your cancellation request, per the "Early Termination" section of your contract, the process may take up to 90 days. During this period, you will continue to receive credit until your account is fully removed from our project.

Our team is committed to helping you track your savings and stay informed about your account status. If you have additional questions, you can reach our support team at ************ or ********************************* We are available Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM 6:00 PM EST.

We are getting solar panels on our house at the end of next month. But when I called proactively to cancel Nexamp, they said it would take 90 days to complete this because they had to call to my original electricity provider, *************, to transfer my account. I then called National Grid and was told that they would take us back as soon as they received a call from Nexamp and they were very surprised to hear that Nexamp said it would take 90 days. I understand that Nexamps billing is two months in arrears, apparently due to the need to apply savings achieved during the billing period. But thats no reason why they cant proactively move my account back to National Grid so that I can use my newly generated solar as soon as it is available. Im happy to pay what I owe, but do not want to pay Nexamp any longer than I need to!

      Hello *******,

Thank you for reaching out. We understand your frustration and appreciate the opportunity to clarify.

Change requests, including cancellations, must be submitted as part of a whole-project update on a monthly basis rather than individually. Once processed, it typically takes one to two billing cycles for the update to be completed. This timeline is outlined in the agreement signed at the time of enrollment.

Please note that your removal request has been submitted to the utility and is now awaiting processing in their system. Additionally, New York regulations allow only one form of solar participation per utility account. We understand that you want to receive the full benefit of your personal panels, which will be possible once your account is fully removed from our program. Please know that our team is actively working to complete this process as quickly as possible.

We understand your concerns and are happy to follow up privately to address any additional questions or needs. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we move forward.

If I could give 0 stars I would. ******. They have someone come to your door, tell you that they are just getting the info to see if you qualify and that theres no commitment at that time, then you dont hear anything for months. I had a person come to my door in June of 2024, told them I wasnt interested, they persisted, I asked if I give you the info you need to see if I qualify will you people stop knocking on my door every other day? The *** said yes so I gave him the info. True to his word, havent had anyone come to my door for this since. Now, January of 2025, I receive a notice in the mail about setting up my online portal as my first invoice is about to be sent out. I never heard anything from anyone after that *** left my steps in June. Called to cancel the account I never wanted in the first place and was told I wasnt committed to until someone from Nexamp contacted me. The only thing that went right was that it was rather quick to cancel however I was informed that Im still responsible for the invoice Ill be receiving in the mail as it takes up to 3 months to cancel the contract. Very shady and dishonest. I live in a community with a lot of elderly people and am scared to think how many of them were taken advantage of.

So far I have been very impressed with Nexamp. The bills reconcile with my utility, and I am very happy to use solar power instead of fossil fuel electricity. One thing is still not clear to me is, will I end up buying more kwh of power than I use over the course of a year? I am trying to reconcile this. The emailed invoice with a video that talks you through your specific charges is brilliant!

      Hello ****,

Thank you for your feedback! We're thrilled to hear that you're satisfied with the reconciliation of your bills and enjoying the benefits of community solar. Its also wonderful to know that our video explanations are helping make things clearer for youthats exactly what we strive for, ensuring your experience is as easy and transparent as possible.

To address your question, it depends on the amount of solar power generated by your community solar farm compared to your energy consumption over the year. Nexamp typically aims to provide enough energy credits to offset most, if not all, of your electricity usage. However, if your usage fluctuates, there may be times when your solar share generates more or less than your needs.

If it seems like your farm is generating more than your annual usage, feel free to contact our support team so we can review and adjust your share of the farm if needed. Our team is available Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM 6:00 PM EST, at ******************************** or ************.

We truly appreciate your feedback and look forward to continuing to support your solar journey!

I signed up for next amp over a year ago. I then purchased solar panels for my home. I was unaware that switching to my own panels required me to call and cancel my nexamp service. But I guess that's on me. I did indeed cancel my account with them on 8/13/24. They said it would take "up to" 90days to complete that process. I called CMP and they told me as soon as they get a call from nextamp they resume regular service. I've called nexamp 2x more and all I get is a service person I can barely understand whom has no real answers on how to stop thier service short of the 90 days. If you are trying to cancel expect it will be 90 days no matter what you try. There is no "up to". Also thier billing runs 2 months behind so even after the stop date (90 days later). You will get bills for 2 months.

      Hello *********,

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are truly sorry to hear about the challenges youve experienced during your transition away from Nexamp. We strive to make our processes as straightforward as possible and are happy to provide any needed clarification.

Maine regulations do permit combining community solar with personal solar panels, offering flexibility for residents to manage their energy needs. We recommend customers notify us proactively when their energy situation changes, such as installing personal solar panels, so we can adjust their account accordingly. Given that your personal solar panels now cover the majority of your electricity costs, we understand why it made sense to cancel your Nexamp subscription.

Our program includes a 90-day cancelation policy, which allows us to coordinate with the utility to ensure the account is fully removed from our solar farm. Additionally, our billing process operates in arrears to confirm that all credits are applied before issuing a final invoice. This timing may have caused some confusion about billing after your cancelation. While your account has been removed, the invoices you received reflect the reductions applied for prior production periods. This can be confirmed by viewing the production dates listed on your Nexamp invoices. We can confirm that your account was canceled, and your final invoice was issued in December.

We recognize that this approach may not have met your expectations, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. Your feedback highlights opportunities to improve our customer communication and support processes. A member of our team will reach out to discuss your account privately.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and for giving us the chance to address your concerns.

After paying my monthly bill via my bank bill pay 11 days before it was due, I began getting overdue notices 1 day after the due date. After multiple attempts to resolve the issue including emailing the confirmation ********** of payment, I received another threatening email that my service would be cut off of I didn't pay. I finally got a representative who was persistent and finally discovered my payment was credited to another customer's account. Extremely disappointed in Nexamp's customer service. And unfortunately this is not the first issue I've had. I'm tempted to discontinue my service.

      Hello *****,

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are truly sorry to hear about your frustration. At Nexamp, we are committed to providing a positive experience for all our customers, and we understand how unexpected changes in billing can be concerning.

To clarify, Nexamp bills in arrears, meaning your invoice reflects the solar credits that have already been applied to your utility account from prior months. Occasionally, delays in credit processing or utility coordination can lead to bills that include charges for multiple cycles of credits at once. While this may make it seem like theres a sudden increase, rest assured that all credits youve earned are applied to your utility bill, resulting in savings over time.

We deeply value your support of renewable energy and your partnership in creating a positive impact on the environment. Thank you for your patience as we work to address your concerns. We will reach out to you directly to ensure we provide a resolution and address any remaining questions.

ZERO STARS DO NOT USE.... DO NOT INQUIRE.... DO NOT CONTACT>>>>I am trying to support alternative sources of electric power. I inquired and apparently also "signed up", though that was months after the fact. "I was waiting for an opening in their roster"The first bills were reasonable and I "assumed" there was a credit in my regular electric bill. Then I got a huge bill - above my normal bill. That when I started checking... IF any credits were applied they were very minimal (at best) or non-existent Long story......... but my electric bill are now double what it was a year ago. My regular provider (24+ years and a supporter of alternative sourcing) has no record of any "savings". I canceled this account and was told I would continue be responsible for up to 90 days. At 180 days+, I am still getting invoices. Repeated calls to "customer service" has provided a variety of ineffective responses or out right lies. My regular provider has told me that it takes only a phone call from nextamp to cancel.... Apparently Nextamp cannot make this ******* NOT USE NEXTAMP>>> SUPPORT ALTERNATIVE POWER SOURCES... DO NOT USE NEXTAMP....

      Hello ******,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the frustration and inconvenience youve experienced. At Nexamp, we are committed to delivering an exceptional customer experience, and we take concerns like yours very seriously.

We understand your disappointment regarding your expectations for savings and the challenges encountered during the cancelation process. Wed like to address the points youve raised and provide clarity on how our community solar program operates.

Community solar is designed to help customers save money by offsetting electricity costs with solar energy credits, applied at a guaranteed discount. While Nexamp issues invoices separately from your utility, the savings are measurable when reviewed over an annual cycle. Seasonal fluctuations in solar production mean credits may vary month-to-month, but the programs overall design ensures consistent annual savings. Our team strives to explain this process thoroughly during enrollment and follow-ups, and we apologize if any confusion remains about how the program functions.

Regarding the cancelation process, the 90-day timeline is outlined in the agreement signed at enrollment. This period accounts for the administrative processes required by the utility to finalize cancelation. During this time, you continued to receive solar energy credits, which reduced your utility bill, and Nexamp invoices were generated for those credits. Its also important to note that Nexamp bills in arrears, ensuring every solar energy credit billed has already been applied to your utility account. This guarantees the promised savings are delivered and explains why you would have received invoices after your initial cancelation request.

We hope this explanation helps, and wed be happy to review your account further to address any outstanding concerns privately. Thank you for supporting alternative energy, and we regret that our program didnt meet your expectations. Nexamp remains dedicated to helping communities embrace renewable energy solutions while delivering meaningful savings.
