Trying for months to get access to account documents so I can have UGMA stock shares transferred to me. I, the "minor", am now in my 40's.I called Computershare and got a transfer form. I also opened an online account and I did manage to get the mailing address changed to my own and set up direct deposit for dividends. However, I have been unable to get access to current account statements, which I need to complete the transfer form:-Though I opened an online account, statements and documents from prior years not available to download.-Transfer form requires a Medallion Signature Guarantee to prove my identity. My credit union requires an annual or quarterly statement from the account showing that Im on the account. When I asked for one from Computershare, they sent me statements from 2021, which are too old.-I got an email from Computershare that my **** is ready. In trying to retrieve it found that my online account is locked. I have messaged, chatted, and called and was told Id get a call back in 2-3 business days, which have since passed.-Computershare said they mailed me the tax document some time ago, but I never received it. They refuse to send it electronically.-Since I cant access the account online, cant see if there is a new annual statement -Computershare says the only other way to transfer shares is for me to pay them a sum of money in lieu of the Medallion Signature Guarantee. -Staff answering phone calls has very limited knowledge and information.At this point Im looking into which government authorities I can contact to complain about this. If my name is on the account, I should be able to access it, get the information or proof that I need, and get this transfer taken care of without so much difficulty.Business Response

I placed an order with Computershare to purchase $500 worth of ****** stock on 12/30/2022. About a week later I still did not see any evidence of the order going thru so I called an account representative. I was told I had insufficient funds in my checking account and instead Computershare deducted ******** shares of ****** from my account, which came to $50 as a penalty for not having sufficient funds. I called Computershare several times and told them there was a mistake since I had over $4,000 in my checking account at the time of the transaction. I even mailed them a copy of my checking account statement but heard nothing back. I was outraged they would deduct $50 worth of DIS stock from my account without notifying me first since now i have to seek tax advice on how to report the sale of ****** shares on my tax return. I requested that ******** of DIS be put back into my account, regardless of the current price, and 2) that Computershare purchase $500 worth of DIS shares at the closing price on 12/30/2022 regardless of the current price of DIS now. I will send in the $500 for that purchase as soon as Computershare agrees to it.Business Response

On 6/13/2022 shares were updated with a name change, due to divorce, and the passing of my mother. It was a joint account. The change automatically created a new account number, needing a new website login. According to Computershare the new login requires that they mail a pin number to me to access the account, Multiple Chat, telephone calls, and online requests, for the pin number, have resulted in no effort on their part to send them. So here we are 7 months later and I still do not have access to my Computershare account. Luckily the businesses themselves that I own stock in, have no problem mailing me the documents they have when available. This is the next step in an ongoing effort to have Computershare do their customer service duties and send me a PIN number. Unfortunately, I do not know which location has the responsibility to send out the pin number, so I have simply listed the closest one.Business Response

FAQThe letter is in two parts. The first part acknowledges that a pin number needs to be sent in order to access the account. It states that can take up to 10 days. I ask that this be kept open those ten days to see if the pin number actually comes this time.
The next part tells me to login and update my address, which we know from the first part I can not get into.
Then the second page has my correct address, though it mentions earlier in the letter that they have an incorrect address, yet I receive all my correspondence from AT&T at the correct one *********************************** 04227
Please allow the 10 day wait to resolve this issue. Once the pin number arrives, if it does, I can accept the response from Computershare.

*** shares left to me and my uncle by grandmother when she passed. I sent in all required paperwork to them including the seal from my bank. After weeks of waiting for updated paperwork showing the shares split between Uncle and I. They transferred ALL shares to him and used my address for the records which means they got my paperwork. After months of calling and asking for them to correct the mistake they have done NOTHING. They illegally gave my shares to my Uncle instead of splitting them like they were instructed to do.Business Response

I have repeatedly called and requested the new forms from you with no help, Ive been mislead several times by your company that you have sent them when by your own admission prove nothing had been sent thus far. I dont see any forms attached on this complaint response either. I am also not interested in providing paperwork for the other person wanting their 50% of the shares. I am only interested in finalizing the 50% that goes to me. I have sent in the requested paperwork already and as you mentioned, it was apparently incomplete however you still do not specify what else was needed other than the minute detail of specifying exactly how many shares, when Ive already, repeatedly, requested for 50%. Its simple math. I need someone who can finalize this transfer to follow up with me since now on numerous occasions, this company has not followed through with the correct procedures. This is extremely unprofessional the way Ive been mislead numerous times with what is needed, what has been received, what will be sent to me, and what will be done. Ive done more than enough of my part, its time for you to do yours.

The problem here is you continue to lie about what information you are receiving from me in order to continue delaying this process from finalizing. You state in this recent response that you did not have my address on the incomplete form yet you sent me the documentation in my uncles name back in December giving him all of the shares. So obviously, you did have that information on the original form sent in with the medallion stamp. This is why I had to open this complaint against your business because you were not being truthful about the information you received and what is needed from me to continue. I do understand that you cannot divide a share, and that one person will receive an extra now. I will wait for these forms you claim have been sent for me to complete again. It is also extremely suspicious that each time I call in, the phone becomes extremely static on your end as soon as you need to give me detailed information about the account, a phone number or extension of who I need to speak to, or anything to do with specific details or numbers on the account. I dont know why youre preventing me from finalizing this transfer, but if after I send in these forms again, and we still have issues that I know I have cleared up. I will get my lawyer involved.

My husband passed away in August 2022. In September I called Computershare to let them know and was cut off from logging into the account, Thus not knowing exactly all the accounts my husband had with them. I requested all the paperwork needed to transfer any account with his SS number over to me. I did get a great deal of paperwork and for each stock had to fill out forms, get a green medallion and additional notarized pages.My husband owed lots of individual stock and this process has been time consuming and redundant. My banking officer has been very kind and each week has used her Green ********* stamp. Once done I have overnighted these documents to the ********** office. So far they have transferred half of the accounts to me. Still waiting on some that all paperwork was finished and overnighted.My complaint is that I don't understand why I would not have an account specialist helping me work on the transfers of each of these stocks. When I call there is always someone different and not always very helpful.I have found as a widow the company has not made it simple to transfer these accounts. I have about 10 different accounts of stock shares with computershare. they have had my account locked to where I can access my accounts its been locked for 4 years. I just got letters from the state controllers office to claim my property which are the accounts of the shares I owe and contacted them to claim my property. when I called they told me to write a letter asking to unlock my account which I did. they claimed like 3 times they haven't received and I sent 3 times. they won't help me and they won't allow me to access my accounts. I have been in touch with Computer share reps for months getting mixed messages. I finally sent a letter priority mail two day on 11/28/22 stating my request via letter. On 12/2 I was told by a rep it was assigned to a rep at Computer share I would hear back in 5-7 business days via mail. I called today and now they have escalated so what I was told never was assigned to a rep and letter not issued to me via mail.
