am writing to report business ready to start located in ** for trying to change me unfairly for wrong and incomplete services rendered. I bought my 2015 **** Fusion car on date 10/08/20 for an engine change. Under their guidance, I bought an engine online and the business assured me they have done this work before and will duly do the inspection before installation. I was working with mechanic X . Upon picking up the car, in date it was immobile and upon inquiry I found out that the engine was the wrong kind for the car. Because they are experts, the least I expected was for them to inform me that we needed to other the right engine as the one ordered was the wrong one. I am take aback by the fact that they have charged me a labor of $1300 to install the wrong engine, they additionally want to charge me $600 labor to remove the engine and $700 to install the correct one. The car is meant to be back at work and I am afraid that everyday this issue is stalling, I am losing income on my part. I am therefore seeking a resolution

Hi *****, we apologise for any inconvenience caused to you. None of this is intentional and this is a very unfortunate scenario. We understand the risk of a customer receiving an incorrect part. Which is why, we make sure we send the pictures of the part prior to shipment. Please understand that we've validated the point of sale as well that the order was placed incorrectly and we have given you options of replacement and refund. We don't have any labor warranty and it was your decision to go ahead with an installation although you were aware that this was an incorrect part. We're more than happy to help you with a replacement or a refund. However, charges are applicable as per our warranty policies.

My stepdaughter, ****************, ordered an engine from this company for her GEO Tracker. When the engine was sent, the shop providing the service installed it, and when running it, found it had a loud knocking sound. Though Ready to Start replaced the engine, they have refused to cover labor. An additional $1600 cost was incurred to remove the defective engine they sent (which was under warranty and presumably tested). Initial conversation has resulted in a refusal of Ready to Go to cover any part of that additional cost, even though they are the sole cause.

Hi ****, when you purchase a used OEM, you don't get a labor warranty and we as a company don't offer labor warranty. We're liable only to the cost of the part and we feel we have done all that we can to resolve this matter in our best capacity by sending you a replacement that is up to the standards. We have sent you a copy of our warranty policies via email which explains thoroughly what the warranty we offer covers and not. We have processed this replacement at no cost to you and that is the best we can do as a company. We regret any inconvenience caused.

Purchased a ****** 4.0 engine from this business for **** total. My original sales **** ****** stated that the engine was coming from a repossessed vehicle and only had 69k miles in Georgia. I was very hesitant after reading previous reviews, but ****** assured me that they were a legitimate company.Upon delivery, the crate was broken and the engine was laying on its side. I took it to the mechanic shop to be inspected. Luckily, the engine only had superficial damage from the shipment. My mechanic test the engine, which it appears ok. We observe the *** tag on the engine and check it. The engine came from a wrecked **** ****** 4Runner in **********. The engine had 193k miles on it.I contacted the business customer service to let them know they sent me the wrong engine. The first person tried to tell me that was the engine that I purchased. After I stated that I had all previous sales conversation on text and email, he put me on hold. Another person picked up and told me I had gotten the wrong engine by mistake and they would ship me the correct engine. The next day, I did not receive a call from the business. I called them, which they stated that the original engine with 69k on it had salt damage. They assured me again that they had a replacement. After a week of talking to customer service, there is still no replacement being shipped out. I even offered to keep the engine I received, if they refund me $2000, which they refused. This is fraud and false advertising.

Hi ***************, we're unaware of the confusion during the dispatch and are trying to figure out how the incorrect shipment was sent out. Our technicians want the merchandise back for inspection. Please be informed that our warranty team is involved and we're more than happy to send you a replacement or get you a refund upon the return of the original merchandise in its original condition.

I do not accept this response. I was contacted by ******** with RTS Auto Parts on 10/12/22. The only reason I was contacted was because I made the complaint with BBB. ******** offered me $1000 to withdraw my complaint. Being that my engine is almost completely installed, I would be out even more money. After seeking legal advice I contacted RTS AUTO PARTS and told them Id settle for $1500. I have yet to get a reply from them. I do not want anything from them but compensation for the fraudulent sale.

On 7/12/22 I contacted Ready To Start Auto Parts searching for a replacement engine. I was informed they had one in stock with 65k miles for a price of $1650. When I asked how I could confirm the mileage the salesman said he would go out and get the *** number from the car, he assured me all of the parts come from vehicles purchased at auctions and many of the parts were already sold from this specific vehicle. He then provided me with the *** number of the engine I would be purchasing via text and told me I could do a carfax report to confirm. I agreed to purchase the engine at that point because it was the best deal I found on a low mileage engine and I was without a vehicle. I asked if I could get a discount on the shipping if I was to pick it up and he said no free shipping is part of the deal but I could pick it up at their location in Mass. I waited close to 1 month to receive the engine only to find out it shipped from a different company located in *********. When the engine arrived it was seized and would only turn over part way then lock up. The *** number didnt match what I purchased. The report I ran on the original number provided showed a vehicle with 65k miles and the one I received was recorded at 95k miles 7 years prior. I contacted the company at that point requesting a full refund. They requested I send them a video and pictures of the engine along with a detailed service report from a garage before they would consider sending a replacement engine. The point is what they sent me was not what I was told I was purchasing and they were focused on having me prove the engine was defective rather than accepting being caught in the bait and switch scam. I requested they send me the engine with the correct numbers I purchased to make it right or send a carrier to pick the junk engine and refund my money. What I received is most likely a ********* flood car engine. 2 months without my car and out $1650 on a piece of scrap metal and a waste of my time

Hi *************, we apologise for the bad engine you ended up receiving due to a shipment confusion. We at Ready To Start Auto Parts have our warranty policies in place to help our customers with fair resolutions. When you called us complaining about the engine you received, we acknowledged and did our check asking you for necessary service documents/pictures/videos. And we helped you with a resolution of refund which would be processed once the faulty merchandise was returned back to us. However, you chose not to do so and involved your financial institution by filing a dispute due to which we have no control over the payment to process a refund. Nevertheless, we'd like to offer you a refund, provided you have our merchandise reach back to us. Please reach out to our customer service team on ************* or ***************************** and we'll be happy to help you further.

The engine is defective yes but also not what I authorized Ready to Start to charge my card for.  The numbers don't match and in the case of consumer fraud a warranty is irrelevant.  I was sold an item that the company could not provide.  I found out through a Bumper report he car containing the engine promised was for sale at a car dealer in Washington state.  The engine I received came from pick apart yard in Tennessee.  After the company received my complaint from the BBB they reached out and offered me $300.  I payed $1650 and expect all of it refunded. I do not intend to pay freight charges to return the engine, I expect the company to arrange a freight pick up for the return.  My next complaint will be with the ************* attorney generals office

They said they were going to ship out another motor but we are now approaching 2 weeks later and I still do not have a motor. They also promised that I would be reimbursed because I now have to pay the mechanic double because of him having to take that motor back out and prepare for yet another motor. Their customer service is horrible and all they been responding saying we will let you know when we ship it out. I am very frustrated with this business. This is very poor customer service and now I want some answers as Ive waited long enough

Hi *************, we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused to you. The original engine that was shipped to you was pulled out of a running vehicle after we drive tested it twice. Unless installed, one wouldn't know if it performs the way it is supposed to. Our warranty team is working on your replacement and we understand the delay could be frustrating. But it's all to make sure the replacement is of good standards. We don't want to go through returns and put you through this trouble. We're sorry for having disappointed you with the first one. We'll have your engine shipped out early next week. Let's get your Elantra back on the road as quick as possible.

I was given the runaround when asking if and when a transmission was shipped, this has been going on for over 2 weeks. I've already alerted my bank as well. This is not the way to conduct proper business

And while in transit, you involved your bank and disputed the charges. Our warranty team tried their best to have you accept the delivery and yet you denied it. Our team's currently working on your claim and will have this resolved shortly.

This company has been trying to contact me and sell me a fake transmission for the last two weeks and Im pretty upset about being contacted by fake a** people trying to steal my money online. I submitted pictures of our conversation but this individual basically submitted no official documentation to me and every message I received was a misspelled text message. If its a real business then they need to fire their people or at least train them better and if its not a real company than you guys need to go the f*** away and leave people alone that have legitimate money and dont have to burn people make a profit.

I paid this so called legitimate company for a motor for my vehicle. After A lot of runaround and excuses when no one seem to be able to tell me where the motor was or when I would get it I was already starting to have issues with them. Finally I was told at one point the motor was going to be sent the following week and I said that wasnt acceptable it was supposed to have been here a week ago and the thing showed up like the next day. So either they didnt even know where it was at or were lying to me or they just sent something because I was about to cancel the deal with my bank. When I got the so-called motor that they said was a great unit it is junk. It is not what they described it is not usable it is damaged. It was not even installed in the vehicle because it couldnt be. I got in touch with them immediately told them the issue but could never get a return call. Kept getting the runaround numerous times made at least 20 phone calls. Then was told to send an email but never got a reply from the email. I finally threatened to get an attorney and then I did get a callback But have been on a wild goose chase ever since. They just keep giving me the runaround asking me to be patient making excuses and nothing is being done. I was called by someone named **** who said he was the manager and if I had any issues call him back. ***** is the point of contact now and she assured me everything would be taken care of no problem. I told her I already bought another motor because the timeliness of them I couldnt wait and no one was doing their job so I just need a refund and they can send someone to pick this motor up once I get my money back. She assured me that was not an issue I asked for some pictures and I sent them. But then again I go on a waiting game. Now every day this week theres been more excuses. They. keep putting me off and then Im sure get past the warranty and not want to refund. This is FRAUD!!!!

    Customer Answer

    FAQ

    Regards,

    *****

this is NOT TRUE!!!  I do not accept this as anything other than a way to try a defraud me out of my money!!!  I DID NOT void anything.   I DID contact this company once the engine was received and damaged.  I contacted them NUMEROUS times and got nothing but the run around.  As far as the split payment that is what they made me do.  I had to give them a deposit to hold the engine so it wouldnt be sold to anyone else.  Then paid the rest few days later when I was told it was out and being shipped.   But it wasnt then and I got all kinds of different stories even then.  Of course I didnt install the engine since it was damaged!!!  Why would I pay someone to install an engine that was not going to work?  I have communicated all of this with this place since the beginning and have got nothing but lies and excuses.  Ive been told at least 4 times they were going to pick it up and refund, but then get nothing.  I did tell them they can refund and pick up whenever they want because its not my problem they want to wait for a cheaper way to ship it before I get my money  this is just a way for them to put people off and then try to get out of doing what they should   Theres plenty of others who have had same issues it seems   They sell junk stuff and lie about things to get out of taking care of it as they should.  Ive made more phone calls than I can count and would always get no replies or answers.  I got hung up on few times. Id get transferred to someone and leave messages to never get called back.  Thats the way its been the whole time. I have emails where they said they would refund. But they want to find cheaper way to get it shipped back before I get refund. It is not my responsibility to pay to send their bad engine back.I also should not have to wait on refund because they are trying to say money!!its just a way for them to try and get out of refunding me.
