I have been a customer with ****************** connect for 11 years. Over the last two years the service ****************** began to go out at times. It was acceptable. Then on October 23 2023, the service went out. At which time it became impossible to contact a representative by phone. Or a direct email. There was no notice of the the cause of the problem, or if it was going to be fixed. Which in turn created a number of new inconveniences and costs. The service remained off until November 23 2023. It came back on briefly and went back off again a week later. The entire time it was off I kept receiving emails from them to pay the bill. Then emails that claimed they were under new management called VuMe. The bills have varied in what they say is owed and content. I tried to contact them with the new number provided for Vume. With no availability on their end. I asked them by a reply to their emails, to mail me a detailed invoice which explained what they were billing me for and how they applied the fees. I never received one. Their emails had an option to pay bill, I will handle it, or cancel, button. When I clicked cancel, the email came back saying it could not be sent. So I tried to block them from sending me these bills by reporting it as spam. Somehow, they are still getting through. I don't know why they expect to collect money from people when they have made everything so difficult, stopped service without notice, Cut off contact. Cost people money, and haven't tried to be helpful in any way. There are some people that were helpful when you were able to contact someone. But there were also some that were very rude for no reason at all, who created problems rather than resolving them. Which makes it hard to understand why they still expect anything. They never answer the phone or offered information that was needed. How are you supposed to cancel if you can't contact them?Initial Complaint

We have had SpeedConnect as our internet provider for over 10 years. Our bill was on auto-pay and we were paid through November 30, 2023. On November 28 my wife attempted to call and cancel our service as we are gone for the winter months and also have not been happy with the service lately. She has made several attempts by phone and cannot get anyone to answer the phone. The message system either disconnects, or sends you to voicemail asking to leave contact information and saying they will get back to you. Several voicemails have been left and still no contact. Also 2 e-mails have been sent with no response. In the meantime, we have received emails from VuMe with a link to pay our bill. We don't want to pay our bill, we want service cancelled and have no way of contacting the company as they don't answer the phone or return messages. Also, SpeedConnect has now sent a notice that they have added a $15 late fee and for the regular amount of $50.90 for December. We have not used the service since November 28, 2023.Customer Answer

The issue has been resolved, but only after I found a way to email them as an inquiry to new business and explained I had filed complaints with BBB and the MI Attorney General. I also explained that if they didnt respond I was going to file a complaint with the *** fraud division. i paid speed connect ahead of time and lost service in late 2022. called many times and all they would tell me was that they were waiting to get parts. after a few weeks i had to have internet so i got another company. i call and cancelled my account and they said i would get a check. NOT. when i finally got an answer again they said i would only get $40. well, they had me so i said ok even tho i had paid 2 months with no internet. i would like a refund of at least $40 from them.Initial Complaint

Our internet service went out on November 15, 2023. On the 16th I called and got an actual person and told them my problem. I was informed that all their tech's were busy and they would call me back. I called 3 more times in the following week and only got a recording telling us to leave a message, and zI did. I still to this day, 11/28/23, I have gotten no response. I am sending a letter to the office in *** asking for a refund. (haha). I have gotten service through another company already.Initial Complaint

I have had terrible internet service with this company. Over the past two months, especially, I have very limited access but mostly there has been no service available. I have paid my bill by auto pay as scheduled. At first I was understanding and patient as errors can always occur with technology but I cannot do this anymore. I have had Speedconnect for 10+ years. I have paid my bill ahead every month. I recently (Sept 2023) went with a different internet service. I called and cancelled my service with Speedconnect. I was told I had a refund coming back to me of $173.00. As of today, Nov 20, 2023 I still have not received any refund. I have tried calling and sending email but can not reach anyone. I have tried for weeks to no avail. I do not receive bills from this company, I just pay it every month. The amount I was paying monthly was $53.90.Initial Complaint

i am filing a complaint against Speenconnect, our old internet provider. i called and tried to cancel service on or around 7.24.23, Their terms and conditions require a verbal cancelation over the phone. When i called it said office is currently closed. I made several phone calls and emails trying to contact them, and even up to this day is says that the office is closed. At the time i had a large credit of around $100 on my account yet they keep billing and charging me late fees. I think my bill with them is over $200. Just this Tuesday 11.14.23 i received an email from VuMe Wireless letting me know that they had bought out Speedconnect. In the email it says click this link to accept and pay your bill. I called the phone number on the bottom of the email and let them know of the situation and then i was told they needed to give my number to a person to call me back regarding my issue and they couldn't help me. I called again Wednesday and Thursday. Still no call back. I can't worry about the credit i lost with them, but what worries me is they are going to try and make me pay or send me to collections for non payment when i tried to cancel. I just don't know what to do. I can't have this effect my credit or my finances. Thank you for your time.Initial Complaint

We have had speed connect for multiple years, we have not had internet service for 2 days now, call and no one answers, says their techs are busy, no matter if you call for sales, tech support or any of it. NO HELP. We pay ***** a month and only have service about half the time if lucky. We should not pay for a service thats not provided.Initial Complaint

Paid my October bill online as normal, I seen my promotion ended, and that my November bill would increase. So I tried calling this company multiple times and emailing them to see if I could get another promotion. I could not get through to no one on the phone and I got an automated email back. Now I currently tried to pay my November bill and it will not go through at all! The November bill due today is $73.90. I still have internet, I really don't know what is going on with this company. I would like to know what is going on because I can't contact no one from this company and I owe money for the November bill and why do I still have internet service? **************** stopped on 10/17/2023 without advance notice. Many attempts to call their 866 number have failed. They do not have on-line assistance. My husband underwent brain surgery on 10/25/2023, so timing of service failure was horrendous. I have located an alternate service and would like hardware owned by SpeedConnect to be removed.
