      I rarely ever review a company but I am compelled to voice my experiences with Guardsman “Extended Warranty” covering furniture. I bought two pieces of furniture from ******* in January 2022. Both pieces of furniture a reclining sofa and a reclining love sofa. I filed a claim with Guardsman Furniture Insurance. I spoke with a customer service representative who was helpful advising me what they needed to open a claim. After submitting my claim I didn’t hear from the company. I called back later and was advised everything look good and they would schedule a technician to rectify the issue. Once again I had to call them back and spoke with another customer service representative who did not know why we have not hear from anyone. He stated to me the technician will call me before the end of the week. While I was waiting for the service call I received an email a week later from their Customer Service Center denying the claim. This was after being told they were scheduling a service technician. I proceeded to call them to only get a representative that was not happy to speak with me. I spoke with a representative at ******t and was treated with respect. By the way my Guardsman Policy states that my policy is a “5-year ELITE COMPLETE PLUS FURNITURE PROTECTION PLAN”. I hope other consumers do not waste their money with a Guardsman Furniture Policy.

      This company should Not be in business, We paid for a warranty protection that does Not cover anything they advertised. We have 5 different issues with our sectional and they said they don't cover any of those. Ex. stitches, tears, *******, Back rest. lets start with their process to submit a claim, don't waste your time calling, after a long waiting period, they will take all your info and then tell you to submitted online, witch will take couple days for then to email you asking for more info. worse company ever and the sad thing reading all this review and their rating and they don't care to provide ****************, as a consumer is very frustrating paid for a product that will not deliver what they advertised.

      Deplorable business practices, slow turnaround times, and poor service techs. All around a bad experience. They are happy to keep your money until you file a claim, and then they cancel and refund your policy, leaving you unprotected. They dissolved their relationship with me because they were unable to repair a stain and the business that I originally purchased from was no longer in business. Because I filed a claim, they wanted to return the price I paid for my plan. If I never had a claim to file they would have kept that money and left me thinking I had coverage. If they were not going to provide coverage, they should have provided a refund as soon as that business shut down. It is unethical to keep customers money and offer them nothing in return. I am pursuing a full refund of the purchase price of my furniture.

      They don't get back to you and I have a claim outstanding and they just leave you on hold for over an hr. My guess is they make it so difficult to finalize a claim that people just give up. This is is a terrible run company but doesn't surprise me in the insurance world.

      n my opinion this is a very dishonest company. They were experiencing issues with their website when I went to file a claim. None of the claim categories for the type of stain that we experienced (dirt from the bottom of a shoe) were working -- in other words, I could not submit a claim. The only category that would work was "bodily oil", which it was not, but I was told when I purchased my policy from Ethan Allen that "everything is covered" so I went ahead and filed to get this item off my to do list. 10 days later I received an email that my claim was denied. I filed again under the correct soil category. My claim was denied a second time. I appealed the second denial and explained the situation... again they denied my claim for a third time. I will NEVER purchase another Guardsman policy again. I recommend you also do not entrust your business to this company. Shady way to handle businesses. Now that I see all of the other 1 star reviews I wish I had done my research first. Hope this helps you!

      DO NOT BUY FURNITURE PROTECTION WARRANTY!! I have tried unsuccessfully to get this company to honor their furniture protection policy. It started around November/December 2022. When you file a claim on their website once you get to the end it will become unresponsive and you have to start over or at least hope that your claim was filed. If you call you will be dead before anyone answers. When I called to see if they approved my claim, the representative wasn’t nice and said yes it had been received and claims department would be in touch. I never heard back from them but 3 months after claim filed I received message from a separate company saying that guardsman was sending them to clean the couch. Gentleman came and said that the covers would need replacing and that he couldn’t clean it. Never heard from anyone again so I called guardsman and told them what happened. Guardsman said they would be touch and was reviewing my claim. Then 2-3 months later I get another request for someone to come out to clean. Again person came out and said same thing, covers needed replacing. No response for months on end. Again called and stated what had happened with cleaning company and everything else, again said they would be in touch. Months go by. This month received another request from some company to come clean it. This time I expressed to that company that unless they were coming with covers to not come. I’m done playing with Guardsman. They are THE WORST company to deal with. They STEAL your money with the promise of doing a service and then give you the run around probably knowing that most people will give up.THAT IS FRAUD BY DECEPTION. Btw BBB it is ridiculous that for a consumer to get any resolution you have to file a review and/or complaint to get any help, yet you give this company a A+ rating?! That is sad. How about giving more weight to frequency of bad reviews & how the company ONLY does something when complaints are filed.

      I was recently on the phone for over two hours with a number of your representatives regarding my claim. I am so frustrated beyond belief. No one is helpful and every single person was giving me the run around. What happened was that i filed a claim back in June and heard nothing bout it. From previous reviews and people that have attempted to use this service i thought not hearing back for a while was normal. I was told that my claim had been denied for not completing the forms in time. I never received any forms and it had come to find out that someone on your side of things had changed the email and added an extra a to the end of it. I had spoken to a claims supervisor named ***** back in October and he told me to submit everything again. This time it was denied because my pictures werent clear enough. We also never heard from ***** again. We submitted everything a third time and this time it was denied because the previous claims werent done within the 30 day window of the original incident. But i did file it within 30 days of the incident, the response from your end didnt even make its way to me because someone on your team had the incorrect email on file. Somehow no one has no information on anyone that weve talked to, on any part of the claim, or the messed up email address. I just want this beautiful couch to be fixed. When i called today i was yelled at by ***** in the claims department and she was an actual monster and hung up on me. I am so frustrated with how Im being treated, how the situation is being handled, and how no one is actually trying to solve any problems.

      Filed a claim back in November, called to make sure they received everything and was told they had all my documents but they were extremely busy and someone would be calling soon. Never received a call so I called back, now told they are missing my invoice- proof of purchase so I resent. Call again after the holidays and was told that the receipt was received after the 30 day window and the claim is rejected. Later received a call telling me to submit a reconsideration claim because someone on their end didn’t hit send when trying to send us an email. Resent the claim and still received a rejection due to receiving the invoice late even though it was sent when I opened the claim. Very unprofessional- don’t waste your money.

      We submitted a claim for furniture that was seldom used. They responded that it was a manufacturer defect and that we did t submit the claim in the proper timeframe. We just noticed it and reported it. Basically the protection is useless and not worth the money. Read the terms, they have an excuse not to pay for anything. Waste of money.
