      I wish I would not switch to Auto-Owners insurance. I do not want to use insurance but when I need, I need piece of mind. Auto-owner is not one of them. I am listener of Dave Ramsey and tried Zander insurance who assigned me Auto-Owner. I was paying premium and did not have to use it till this time. My windshield brock and need replacement. I called them who setup with their preferred vendor (Safelight auto glass). I took the care to them who stated that they can not able to replace the glass since the car has censors and camera. I called Auto-owner again and told the next step. They referred me to the dealership. They looked their system and a dealership closest to me does not have preferred partner coloration so told me to pay them and submit quick claim. I repaired a glass and submitted quick claim. Now they only want to reimburse partially. Their reason is my car doe not need OEM glass and we only reimburse the amount what suppose to reimburse preferred vendor. I would not refer this company. This will not cover when you need them. Just wast of money.

      I was involved in a minor accident and windshield got shattered. The other party had told me to go ahead and file the claim since they were at fault. Numerous emails and calls made to this adjuster from myself and the party at fault and No nothing. The adjuster stated he emailed but I didnt see the emails of what he stated he needed from us. The incident accured in October and now that I contacted You all they wanna respond. He stated he sent the check out for the claim and after calling numerous times he responded saying he need the address for us. But you stated you sent the check out so Why You Need my Address if you sent it. Poor communication and timing and also The Very unprofessional RUDE ADJUSTER that was assigned to the Claim name *************************.

      Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Mr. ******* complaint. Since the writing of this, we have contacted Mr. ******* and collected the information needed including his address. We have now issued and mailed Mr. ********* a settlement payment.

      We recently had a few claims filed for hail damage. We received the payments through PayPal and transferred them to our bank account. A month later 2 of the 3 payments were cancelled by who Auto-Owners uses for payment transactions. We talked to Auto-Owners about this as our PayPal account was now -7,500.27. Auto-Owners would accept no responsibility for this and kept telling us we needed to talk to PayPal. We even showed screenshots of our account being negative and the cancellations from who Auto-Owners uses to send payments (One Inc). It wasn't until I threatened to hire a lawyer did someone finally start looking into this for us. This was terrible customer service and I spent many wasted hours on the phone trying to figure this out when all along the payments were cancelled and their payment vendor had the money. Our credit has now taken a hit due to the negative balance we had in our PayPal account.

      Auto Owners made me pay in advance out of pocket for the claim for water damage that happened to my business. It has been 11 months and I still do not have a reimbursement, I sent them all paid receipts. They still owe me over $38,000.00 They should not be aloud to sell insurance in the state of Indiana.

      I had an incorrect charge for $400 extra on my account. I was told it's correct, knowing full well it is not, and asked to speak to a supervisor. This is where it gets good.
      The woman says "ok please hold."
      She comes BACK about two minutes later and says, "alright I am going to transfer you to my supervisor Bobbi now! Please hold..."
      I did not get to talk to Bobbi, the supervisor is the Lansing location, because the line went to voicemail, with no way to further contact them.
      There was a button to be transferred to a different supervisor instead of leaving a message, which surely would be ignored. I opted for this, and what do you know? This other supervisor's line went to voicemail too!
      Make of that situation what you will.
      Horrible. Customer. Service. Especially Bobbi from Lansing and her team.

      We have been clients of Auto-Owners for over 5 years. Had home, auto and business insurance with them. We were never late with a payment. We were struck by a hail and windstorm. When Auto Owners sent an adjuster, he was unprofessional and was more eager to get home than look at our roofs (looked at one instead of three). When we complained the company sent an engineer to inspect our home. The engineer took photos of our roofs and told us that there was in fact much hail damage. Our contractor, who was present, agreed and had taken photos of the damage also. There engineer's report then came back stating there was no structural damage to our home (NO KIDDING) we were looking at roof and soft metal damage! Here is where it gets good (NOT REALLY). We began with multiple emails and phones calls with Scott W. Mr. Wl was determined to ignore our pleas for help and send us down the road. We were forced to go to W supervisor Joey D. Ms. D started with the same game of going weeks without reply to email and phone messages. After numerous conversations between our contractor and Ms. D it was finally agreed to have a third inspection of our property by a third-party adjuster. This third adjuster quickly responded and found major hail and wind damage to our property. The initial check was cut and sent to us so we could begin to get our property repaired. Our contractor completed the work in a timely manner. Auto Owners was notified of the completed work and was asked to send the depreciation check (final payment) to us. It took months and again back to calling and emailing Ms. D to get the check cut. It took almost a year to get our property back to pre-storm damage. Not because of contractors or supply chain but an insurance company that did not want to do what they were required to do by contract.

      Canceled my policy because of an unrelated renter in my home being unlicensed and uninsured. The vehicle in question was not owned by that person or ever driven by them. I received no communication via phone or mail that this was an issue, I didn't even know the policy was canceled until I received a refund check in the mail for the remainder of the premium. I went several days driving without valid coverage due to them failing to notify me. Checked my email after and discovered an email from the broker agent informing me that they were canceling the policy (not an acceptable way to notify someone you're canceling their policy!) Terrible experience, I would give zero stars if I could.

      I have had Auto Owners Insurance for six years and treated professionally through three windshield claims and hail damage on home claim. The adjuster and insurance agent kept me informed through all claims and answered all questions and concerns I had. Cooperate with them with correct and true information and you will be treated the same. NOTE: Premiums did not increase with auto and house claims!!

      I am not a customer but was hit by someone who was. I looked online and assumed Id never see a ***** and would have to go through my own insurance at my expense. I decided to at least try, and the adjuster replied back either same day or next and instantly took responsibility. Had my car in the shop in a week. Sadly, car was totaledhad a check in less than a week for a very fair amount.
