We purchased a new ******** storm door through ********** and had them install it a year ago. All seemed great until I had to fly out of state to my father's funeral. My husband forgot his keys with ***. When we got home we discovered that no place, not even **********, could make a copy of the storm door key. I called ******** and was told we need to purchase an entire new lock at the cost of just under $90! Even though they are the manufacturer they refused to send us key blanks and they have it so that that is the only way to get another key. They did end up giving us $20 off but that's still almost $70 for simply needing a blank key. We are members of AARP due for new windows soon and I've seen their ads but we will not be getting them from ******** after this experience!Andersen Corporation

I picked up my Andersen order from the ********** of a Luminaire Retractable screen. The box appeared to be in good condition. When I unpacked the door The plastic pieces started falling. both ends of the screen had damage. It was obvious that the packing was inadequate to protect the thin plastic parts. I called the Andersen number on the instruction page and spoke with ****. She connected me via video chat to look at the damage. One piece was broken off and she asked me what the part was. (I was anticipating her recognizing parts from her product.)We decided the best route would be to return the entire door to HD rather than replace the broken parts which would take ***** days. She advised me to have HD "expedite shipping" and request "special packaging" For $400 dollars you would think that all products would be "specially packaged". I will update when the replacement arrives and will be opening the box at HDAndersen Corporation

Yes ******** doors are absolutely horrible! And the locking mechanism on them are a joke!!! The locking mechanism doesnt lock correctly and every time you lock the door you have to lift the handle really hard and turn the locking mechanism and than it just results in the k*** that locks the door getting broken. The locking mechanism starts spinning around in a circle and not locking the door at all! This is all caused by them sending pre hung doors in frames that are to wide apart which keeps the doors to far apart from each other in the middle, which results in the lock not reaching the other doors lock opening to hinge itself in there. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!! DO NOT WAIST YOUR MONEY ON THIS LOW BUDGET BRAND!!! You pay like quadruple the amount of money for these low budget doors and windows and inherit nothing but a headache and stress! Plus your window and door will never lock lol! And ******** doors and windows does nothing to correct the problem!!!Andersen Corporation

1 starThis is in regards to an employee by the initials DC - please do not do business with this company until they remove that employee. She tried to steal from our company and after contacting her on multiple occasions, both email and phone, we finally had to contact her company Andersen Corporation directly to get any response. Long story short, she attempted to steal from us and it blows my mind why Andersen Corporation would hire her. Just keep in mind that when you're doing business with Andersen Corporation, you could potentially be dealing with scammers and thieves that will take your hard-earned money.Review fromDavid B

2 starsI'm not very happy with the warranty service I received from Andersen on my fixed pane windows. While still on warrantee, 1 of 7 new windows started to leak. The factory told me it was not possible that the coming into the house could have been from the window. So I hired carpenters and had them install pump jacks to access the window, then remove the trim and evaluate Tyvek and rubber seal around the window. There was no sign of water leakage through the wall. That was a waste of $3,000.At that point Andersen sent a tech who agreed that the water was coming through the window. He came back some weeks later and removed the interior trim, then squirted in some caulking. Now 2 years later, the same window is leaking again. I called Andersen and after 4 calls to talk to someone, was told that service work is only warranted for 60 days, and that now the windows are out of warrantee. They won't do anything for me.If they had repaired/replaced the window in the first place I wouldn't have to pay to replace it myself, and even worse, buy another one. And what really galls me is that I have 6 identical windows on that wall and can't replace the bad one with another brand. Probably the next thing I'll learn is that they no longer make the style I have.Review fromSusan G

1 starDefinitely NOT top of the line. These windows are so cheaply made and there is no trained labor making them, nor is there an inspection of what is manufactured before it leaves the factory. Clear glue was smeared all over the frames, scratches in the glass and bits of wood falling off the inside of the frames whenever I attempted to open and close a window. The grills to make squares on the windows actually ruined the wood on the frame because they ends had sharp as knife edges.Calling the company headquarters is a process that will give you great aggravation. It's not just the automated system, but there are no phone number for the executive offices. I called 4 times in one morning, mainly because I was given the run around, being told to call other phone numbers which ****** me to the same dead end. In the final phone call I was told that employees don't know the phone numbers of the executive offices and even if they did they wouldn't be allowed to give them out. That says a lot about the executives who stuff their pockets with the money the company is saving on cheapening their product. They know there will be loads of complaints and they don't want to hear them. From now on, if anyone asks me about Andersen Windows, I will tell them the truth and not what their contractors tell them.Review fromSandy H

We put in atrium door in 2012 and it replaced a wood atrium door that was 27 years old. The locking mechanism is horrible. Every time you want to close the door and seal it you have to pull up on the handle hard. The locking mechanism went bad in 2016 and ******** did supply us a new one. In 2024 it was bad again so had to replace again. It is still acting up. ******** has really gone downhill and the design of the locking mechanism is insane.Andersen Corporation

EXTREMELY POOR QUALITY! I ordered and purchased an ******** 400 Series Storm Door from *********** I live in an area where ********** doesn't exist. I drove 140 miles round trip to purchase this door. When I unboxed it, I discovered that the glue that holds the door together was smeared all over the door. There are even whole hand and finger prints in the glue. The corners of the door do not align and have very sharp edges. I cut my finger on it. I called customer service and there answer was to drive the 140 miles again for a replacement. ********** only had one door in stock. I asked them to ship one and they refused. I will never buy another ******** product. I wish I could put pictures on this review so that the quality could be viewed. It is a shame that a once great company has become a junk dealer. My next step is to file with small claims court locally. It will cost them way more to send someone to be present here than to ship me a better quality door. I will spread the word of the poor ******** quality and poor customer service anywhere I can online and by word of mouth. I am retired business owner and have nothing but time.Andersen Corporation

Horrible customer service! The service center is in ******* ***********. The people are very nice, but totally clueless about the products. They just follow a script. They cant open a link to a support video but any video worth sending is too big for email. I have wasted so much time with their customer service that I will never buy from them again.Andersen Corporation

I wish I would have read these reviews before zI bought $16,000 for a portion of my home. I have called over and over and over with no response. I ordered windows Dec 6th 2023. No communication at all. When I did get someone to Answer, they said my windows were not ordered until Feb2024. Windows were recievef April 9th. I was told my payments would be a 10 year finance. Now an invoice claiming I owe $8000.00 deposit. This was never mentioned at time of sale. I dont have $8000.00. Screens installed have flaws. No one answers or returns calls. Do Not be Fooled by this company. Its a scam.Andersen Corporation
