Worst bank I’ve had, and I haven’t had one since Wells Fargo in 2019…
There is constant miscommunication from bankers at branch. I'm always told one thing to find out another. Was told cash deposits are same day. I deposited $250 and had to wait two days to see it? Was told I had overdraft protection to find out I didn’t when I got $100+ in fees one day. My card pin randomly changed itself and was locked out of my card, couldn't contact customer service over phone so had to make an appointment that couldn't happen until NEXT DAY. The only one branch close to me is never open on time, they are confusing, and lie about policies. If issues arise don't expect help. You can't just call for immediate help. The phone service will just be automated and when you ask for someone it automatically hangs up. Today was the last straw and I'm closing my account after my direct deposit that was in my account yesterday is just mysteriously gone, I’m negative in my account with multiple fees (that I shouldn’t also have from my protection) and I have to wait to make an appointment to talk to someone about money that shouldn't be gone that they have no right to. I can't trust this bank and neither should you.

I have had an auto loan with US Bank for several months. My payment is on automatic withdrawal each month. This month I was notified that my payment was one day late. I immediately made the payment manually via the US Bank app. The following day I discovered US Bank had withdrawn the funds twice. Nice little scam. Worst of all is that the US Bank app will not notify you if you already have a payment scheduled. I will pay off the loan or refinance via another lender ASAP.

We sold the 2022 Tundra and paid off the full amount of the lease. We sent a cashiers check on March 4th and overnighted. It took USB 3 weeks to process it (same as cash) and once USB did, they put the wrong address on the title. USB ordered duplicate. As of today 4/7, no title and the truck is sitting at the new owners house and cannot be used. I called DMV and they said it takes 3 days if they were to order it online. Don't think USB did it that way. You think being that USB made the mistake they would express it. Also there is no way of talking to the USB titling department. No phones nor email addresses... REALLY?!

This bank is garbage anymore. I have been with US Bank since 1997, which is a pretty long time to be with the same bank. And I am pleased to announce that I will be finally closing my account with them next month. Why am I getting charged $7 a month to use a checking account? All the other banking options nowadays offer free checking. Why do I have to wait 10-12 business days for a check to deposit, when all the other banks can do it in 2-4 business days? Meanwhile, US Bank has no problem processing debits from the account, but when it comes to deposits it always takes days longer. Why do I have to call the fraud department every time I want to purchase crypto or nfts? I don't have this problem with other banking cards. Why do I get transferred around phone queues like a hot potato, and everyone is customer service gives you a different answer? Why is there no way to contact US Bank by email, only phone? Is it because you realize that most people don't want to have to wait on hold on the phone so they just simply won't call you to complain? Very clever. Why is it that I can transfer money free and instantly with other checking accounts, but not with US Bank? Why has the actual footprint of US Bank locations shrunk in the last 10 years? Why would I get charged a ridiculous overdraft fee, when most other financial institutions waive their overdraft charge? Is it because you are forcing your customers to get another account so that they have overdraft protection? You can't just waive overdraft fees in general, so you can continue to be predatory? This company is a joke and so behind the times. Clearly they don't have the bandwidth or resources to compete with other banks any longer. It is 2023 US Bank, and you are still stuck in 1995.

Worst customer service I ever dealt with! I was told my payoff would be ready in 7 business days, it’s now the 10th business day and they’re still saying they don’t have a payoff amount generated yet. I’ve never been so frustrated with a company in all of my life! Whatever you do, don’t do business with them! I promise you’ll wished you hadn’t!

Opened a new credit card account and requested balance transfer to pay off a personal loan. The payment was sent to the credit card company instead of the bank that holds the loan. I don't know why they did this as that was not what I requested and when I found out, I contacted US Bank to discuss. After a lengthy discussion, I was told a supervisor would contact me within 24 hours. I was never contacted.
I then called US Bank again to resolve the issue and instructed them to cancel the balance transfer and that I would enter the correct information online. I did so and also changed the amount since I had made an additional payment on the loan.
After a few days, I saw that a balance transfer had completed for the original amount and my online transaction had disappeared. Upon contacting US Bank (3rd time!), I was informed that the balance transfer I had entered was cancelled and a new one had been issued. The new one was issued to the wrong payee and address again.
As a result, the balance transfer has not been applied to pay off my loan. Since the check has apparently been cashed, I have to initiate an investigation with the payee to have the payment applied to the correct account.
I have never experienced this level of incompetence with a bank. I plan to close my US Bank credit card as soon as the funds have been applied correctly to my personal loan.
Think twice before doing business with this bank.

I have 2 accounts with US Bank - neither by choice both loans. I used to have both business and personal checking account and a savings account cancelled them 10 years ago never went back due to poor customer service. Friday 3/31/2023 I got online to pay my auto loan. Tried to submit payment the system said it was having problems then I went back in about 20 minutes later. They system processed my payment twice. Can's stop the payment online (I'm) told that is because I am not a US Bank Checking account holder. Funny how I can stop payment or cancel payment on my mortgage account with US Bank. Called Customer Service immediately they told me that they could not stop or delete said the system would probably realize and only charge 1 payment (HAHA) I knew that wasn't going to happen. Told me to call Monday 4/3 and they could reverse the charge. Well called this morning and they said they have to send me a cashier's check because I am not a checking account customer. US Bank System makes a mistake and now I am inconvenienced. Doesn't seem right. Just one of many clearly unsatisfied customers. Not to mention everything has to be done on the phone with customer service or you have to go into a branch in 2023 is ridiculous there is no customer service email.

i accidentally transferred $2000 to my secured credit card and as soon as i did it i realized it went into the wrong account i called the credit card help number and was told it could take 10 days to get approved or maybe even denied sure that’s fine only ten days i called again after 10 days and didn’t receive as little as a email about it so i called them the lady told me they’re was never a request which i know was a lie cause i have the phone records so i was angry and just wanted to close my account so they did when i asked but instead of 1) giving me the option to transfer my money to my new account they automatically just said it’ll be in a form of a check and it’ll take up to ten days to receive it. what would’ve happened if i had kids i needed to feed or gas to get to and from work , they also reversed my insurance payment which left me with a gap of insurance so now instead of paying $230 a month i have to pay minimum $550 a month because of them mingling with my money they could’ve atleast emailed or called about that instead of just letting me drive with no insurance btw i’m still waiting for those checks it’s been 8 days and nothing i’m hoping it comes soon i’ve been waiting 18 days all together for them to just give me my money back

I used to like US Bank, and banking with them. They used to be efficient, had a few branches in Bellingham, worked longer hours. Now, the lobby closes at 4:00 pm, the Drive-thru closes at 5. In Seattle, WA the lobby stays open till 8:00 pm. The staff is polite, but not very knowledgeable. Their new Online banking is no longer friendly. When you make a payment, it does not give a balance update. It used to! Placing a payment from one account they charge it to a different one. Yes, I have corrected which account I wanted to be used, but at the end the system switches despite. I can't wait to be done with them!
