I’ve been a depositor with US bank for over 10 years. I moved to Worland, Wyoming over 2 years ago. On March 1st Discover Credit Card issued me some blank checks to use for a balance transfer at 0 percent interest for 10 months. I deposited one of those checks in the amount of $10,000.00 into my US Bank checking account to pay down 2 large interest bearing credit cards. After the check had cleared and the 2 payments cleared, US Bank decided to reverse the Discover check and reverse the 2 payments to my 2 credit card companies and close my account for “Suspicious Activity”. They also kept my last auto deposit from my employer dated March 3, 2023 and caused me considerable hardship. They finally issued me a check on March 27th. I had to borrow money to pay my mortgage on time and to make a car payment on time. I have 3 auto deposits going into my US Bank checking account each month, 2 from my employer and 1 from Social Security. My checking transactions are pretty much the same each month, no unusual activity. Using bill pay I pay my mortgage, utilities, car payment and credit card debts. The only difference this month was the $10,000.00 deposit from a reputable financial institution. The treachery of this act has caused me to reconsider leaving my money in any bank. Now I keep all my money safe at home. Recalling how the prime minister in Canada had frozen the assets of the truck drivers who protested the unlawful vaccine mandate, I thought at the time that this could happen here in America too. But I didn’t think it could happen to me. And since it happened to me, then it could happen to anyone. It is a sad day in America when a bank can commit such an egregious act against a law abiding citizen.

I have been a US Bank customer, both personal and in business, for many years. They recently cashed a check that had clearly been washed. It had been cleared from their bank 10 months earlier to the intended recipient, but came back, washed, and the signature had my name misspelled. I went to the bank immediately and filed fraud charges. Eight weeks later I’m still waiting. They keep telling me to call back. Today’s phone call suggested I call back again in two more weeks. They are holding onto a fraud case that was clearly their fault to the tune of $4914.18. This is ridiculous.
Needless to say, as soon as this is resolved, I’m finding a new institution.
      Awful customer, service and response

Opened account for our little non-profit.
They charged fees they assured me would not be charged. They repeatedly assured me that bankers would contact me to clear up mistakes they "couldn't help me with." These people never contacted me.
They were never able to set me up with an online account to check transactions and balance, Even though I spent over 15 hours with them on calls and in person to try to solve the problem.
Unbelievable levels of incompetence characterized every move.

If they close your account and you move, they will make you jump through hoops to get your money back. Currently buying a house and they wanted to send my check to my old house 4 states away.

They are the WORST. We lost our jobs due to covid and ended up on the forbearance plan. We decided to sell our house during that time and we had to request an extension on the forbearance plan. I had to apply 3 different times because they kept having the smallest issue with a document I turned in and instead of contacting me about it they just let my application expire. THREE TIMES! My house was sold the same day they started foreclosure, even though they knew it was under contract they went ahead anyway. I never made even 1 late payment and yet my credit is screwed for years because they refuse to remove the remark of "foreclosure started" they dont care about their customers, only about their bottom line. I will NEVER recommend them to ANYONE.

We were taken advantage of by our US Bank loan officer with predatory and deceiving mortgage practices. Our 6 month rate lock was set to expire 1/17 so we paid for 4 15 day rate lock extensions or 60 days. Our close date was set for 3/17- 59 days into our extension. A few weeks before we close they said actually your rate lock expires 3/17 59 days into our extension and there are no more extensions after that. A week before closing we get them all our documents and assume everything is good. Monday the week of closing they say they are still working on our ECD which we need to sign by Tuesday to close Friday 3/17. They did not get our ECD finished. They finally sent it Wednesday and said well now your rate will be expired so you have to pay $25000 to buy your rate down to even 5.5. We felt completely taken advantage of. We paid and signed to close our house but what they did to us is completely wrong and immoral. They should be investigated for mortgage fraud because I’m sure we are not the only ones this has happened too.

Horrible customer service. Canceled my bank card without my consent after I explicitly said not to. Now my card has been declined and all my automatic payments will be returned and multiple fees will be charged for that. No one is willing to help me or fix the problem they caused. Terrible lying awful service.

I am a veteran a was in the VA hospital for 3 months. None of my bills where paid so I went from a 780 credit score to a 500 I have been trying to pay the bill in full they said almost two months ago to send in a retraction letter and they would be able to wave late fees and interest. Well I was told the received the fax then I was told they didn’t. I have sent 3 times. I leave messages and no return calls but they keep adding interest and late fees. I’m on hold for hours to find out it’s the wrong department. This has been going on for weeks. Charles *****

Less than one. They allowed someone to use my debit card then when I disputed the charge they cancelled it. Then they allowed someone else to activate the replacement card. Promised to overnight a third card which was not delivered.
This is the worst “customer service” of any business I have ever dealt with.

needed to switch my auto pay info 1 time because my credit card was stolen, the option to do so did not appear online. Called in, was told they never saw this before and to call back again the next day cause it could just need me to pay the bill first, then I did, still didn't show, up, then the next today was told they would bring it up in an internal meeting and get back to me. After a month no call back, yet another bill comes up. I call again, same sequence of events, pay the bill, come back to the site a day later, still nothing, they tell me again, this is weird and that they will address it and get back to me...4 month later, still the same cycle, same wasting of my time to take over the online portal view just for them to see that it doesn't work, only for them to push me off to the next day, then to say they don't know whats going on, and make up some excuse as to why it doesn't work now but it will definitely work the next time, over and over again.
