Worst bank , closed checking account without any reason, called for days asking to redirect a retirement check, was told yes it can be done. Called every day for four days yes we are working on it, will be there Friday, Calle Friday check has been returned to sender, ridiculous, Run from this bank, very unprofessional and liars. I had to choose a star to submit but they are a negative 1000

This bank does not care about the people they service. Their customer service is subpar, and their assumptions department is incompetent. As veterans, we deserve better, and this bank will do anything/everything to stop the assumable loan process. It is a known issue that US Bank has a low approval rating when it pertains to completing the assumable loan process. I am the latest victim of their horrific unethical tactics to stop a sale that does not benefit their pockets. As a seller who has a government-backed loan, it is a right to be able to sell my property as assumable. It is a perk that should be valued and handled with respect. In June of 2024, I found a potential buyer for my home after 10 days on the market. Due to my VA backed loan, the buyer was delighted to be able to assume my loan at a 2.75% interest rate. US Bank stalled and made the process very difficult. They even shared personal information with the potential buyer, which they later apologized for. In February of 2025, the buyer gave up due to US Bank mishandling of the process. I will do everything in my power to make sure big banks pay for their unethical tactics. I am an advocate for using local/small banks. If I had known that the bank I started with sold their loans, I would have surely gone with another local/small bank. Banks such as US Bank believe that they are too big to fail.

I'm not why it is allowed to find out a customers card is compromised and not tell them letting them find out when trying to buy groceries at 7pm at night. Why can't this bank tell customers during hours that the card was shut off. Why is it so standard at this place to not care about the people who gave you access to our money. Because they left me dead in the water all because they didn't feel it necessary to email, text or call. Personally fire all those people who are just sitting around not doing anything.

If I could give them zero stars, I would. We have had an account with this bank for almost 20 years. In the last 12-24 months, customer service and overall trust with this institution have declined to the point where I feel my money would be better protected kept in my mattress. I have suffered fraud against my account yet find that making an appropriate deposit is impossible. Automated banking is a disappointment. Deposit your money only to have it reversed. I am closing my account and transferring to a credit union that I can trust and who will actually assist me with money management and wealth building. This bank simply takes your money and does nothing to assist their customers. Stay far away!

This Bank is Horrible, takes 45 min to get to a real person then they take 45 min to find account. Issue VIN number information was sent to them upon purchase, They issued a loan with the wrong VIN number. How did that happen? (Auto should have been collateral for the loan). They refused to refinance as there was "no local office". I payed off the loan, sept 1 1/2 hours on the phone with agent, that discovered that there was an issue with the VIN number (duh). In Michigan the loan company holds the title until it is paid off. I am trying to get my title paid off loan a month ago. FYI sent a check for balance due, 3 weeks later they had not received this check (their story, allows them to continue to charge interest, deliberate or just a poor account receivable process). Costed me 32 bucks to cancel the check..
I am still waiting for the "return" call when they figure out what happen that my records were never updated to the correct VIN number. I am sure they have the paperwork, just no one bothered to follow up on this correction. This bank is a rip off, poor communication, process and now I am held hostage to their system trying to get my Title . I hope and pray no one else has to endure this substandard company, they have no qualms about charging you high interest rate and if they do not cash checks timely you get pinged for a " late fee" Hope this doesn't fall on deaf ears.

Apparently they allow fraud to happen. I had a merchant pull money from my account that I did not authorize and they said there was nothing they could do as I had done business with that merchant before. Wont bank with them ever again

I recently had a late payment due on 2/24/2025. I missed it by one day due to getting my days mixed up. It was an honest mistake. Upon receiving a notification text from USbank I immediately logged into my account and paid off my balance in full. When I called the customer service line to request a late fee reversal the woman I spoke with named Lauren was very kind in her efforts to help me and put in a manual override request to her supervisor (Michelle). She did this because my account already had a late fee reversal from six months prior. However, I explained to her that I don't make it a habit of paying bills late. Unfortunately, my request was denied by her manger and the explanation given was honestly rather useless, already stating the obvious that "The late fee was assessed because the minimum payment due was not received by the payment due date. In this case, we are unable to reverse the fee on this account." This response came from an unmonitored mailbox with a request to not respond back to that email. I understand that institutions have rules that should be adhered to, but my issue with this situation is the complete lack of humanness and understanding demonstrated here and the explanation given did nothing to explain why the actual request was being denied but rather it just explained why the late fee was assessed, which was obvious at that point. It's like they didn't even try. I was asking for forgiveness & mercy and I even paid off my full balance first before calling. My credit and history of prior payments show that I'm fairly consistent. Regardless, none of that seemed to be taken into consideration. I've been with USBank barely a year. They've NEVER had to hunt me down or get bill collectors on me demanding their money. I always pay in full every time. All banks do not treat their customers this way. Two late payments in 1 calendar year six months apart should not damage you that quickly. I'm done with USBank. Stick with Chase, they at least try!

I have used Bill Pay at US Bank for over a decade and payments now take 2-3 weeks before the payee is receiving them when it used to take less than a week. Isn't technology getting better?

Whatever you do. Don't get a US bank secured credit card. They will sabotage your credit. Instead helping you. They report on statement day. Then they will report the last business day of the month too... So if you have a balance it will dong your scores.
