      I had an electrician scheduled to come out and do work and had an appt. with Xcel for them to turn off my power. They claim they left a voicemail letting me know that they had to cancel and to reschedule. I never got that voicemail so I had to pay a trip charge and am now rescheduled for mid OCTOBER!!! 3 months out! how is this acceptable??

      Takes forever to get electricity back on I have insulin in the fridge that NEEDS to be refrigerated and I got hung up on trying to beg someone to turn it back on

      Absolutely ridiculous customer service experience. Had our ********************** line come down in a storm and it also took out our whole wire housing unit and meter box. Had an electrician come out within 30mins of xcel turning off power. Electrician fixed everything, we doled out $2,200 for this fix. Electrician called xcel to do emergency restoration at 3:30pm, we were told they should be pretty quick about it and inspection would take place in the next 5 business days. 5pm still no show from xcel, we start calling. First were told if they arent there by 7pm, itll be the next business day. Then on our second attempt we were told 1-5days pending inspection after being told theyd turn power back on after an electrician fixed everything. Also were told **** wont offer reimbursement if were forced out of our home due to the heat. We have an 8 month old, 2 dogs, a cat, and 2 adults in our household. Our house is old, it heats up quick. We are currently staying with family because we cant afford a hotel after doling out $2,200 for an electrician visit. Absolutely horrendous customer service when we asked about reimbursements and speaking with a supervisor who could potentially expedite our process. Wish we wouldve recorded the customer service conversations for our records.

      The worst company Ive ever dealt with. They originally told me 2-3 days they would have my power on. Then I was told 4-5 days it would be on but its been 10 days now and still havent seen power. I provide indoor fruits and vegetables for my family. I lost a whole harvest off this and now I cant even preserve what I have left.

      better hope everything goes to perfection. Xcel has charged me **** dollar instead of my 150 and reversed it and reversed it back for a month. couldn't even use my cards. well didn't receive a phone call and kept trying to call them. they ended up turning off my power in the summer, when we had a pay arrangement and everything.sorry I couldn't pay it because you're company charge me **** dollars over 8 times. well still I've never receive a call from anyone in their company and they have the worst customer service by far. completely unacceptable! especially when it's all on them!

      **************** personnel acts as if they have zero accountability for their snide behavior. Since customers dont have much choice for electricity service I suppose hiring unkind employees is no big deal. I live in a 730 square feet apartment and rarely use dishwasher or stove. The only electric used is for lights, television, small window unit air conditioners and laptop, but my monthly bill is $238. I tried to tell an explanation why my bill is so high, but all I got is a rude response.

      Home smart plan! Don't purchase it when you need they have one contractor they sign with and you could wait 2-3 weeks before someone can get to your house! They don't care either. To talk to a manager or supervisor is 3 to 5 business days before you leave and get a return call back or response by email. Wish I could work for a company that can take that long.

      Got billed for a property I don't live at. **** demands payment even though I have provided proof of not living there. Been fighting for over a year with no resolution. I wish we had an option to use a different service. They used to be great, but the last 2-3 years have been impossible. Hours spent on the phone being told different things by different folks and still no resolution. This issue started in 2021, still working on it in 2023. It's a huge waste of time and energy with zero results. I miss the days when Xcel was amazing.

      I recently moved out of the Xcel energy area and canceled my service. I received a final bill which I paid for prior to the billing. At that time I stopped my auto payment as well. When the new billing occurred I checked my bank statement and they had pulled the payment again. When I contacted customer service they said that the system does not recognize a payment and that I would get a credit for that final bill but it could take up to 30 days for me to receive it. In this era of automation, I cannot understand why something like that should occur. It's absolutely ridiculous.

      Xcel, please work with your customer service representatives to provide better customer services. I have been up to date with my bills since Ive began Xcel. Two months ago I landed in the hospital and had a rough time paying bills and also making calls to make arrangements. Anyway I was past due 2 months. I called to make a full payment of my past due bills. On the phone I was supported by very snarky people the first person I called, ******, was condescending with me after I asked if I could in anyway have some added fees waived. Then I thought hmm maybe I just got one bad egg this day and called again, I had another person on the other end with the same attitude over the phone. Third times a charm right?! Nope. Still met with rude people who are eager to take payment and move on to the next caller. I mean if Im going to make a full payment allow me to ask questions about my bill and all added fees first. I ended up making the payment online.
