1 starSeriously an awful company. I received a 90 day supply of medication from them in a smashed bottled that was almost impossible to open. Completely unacceptable. I took a picture and emailed their customer service. I never heard a thing back from them and now my medication is due for a refill again and I'm afraid I'll end up with another broken bottle because Optum Rx won't let me switch from their s***** home delivery program. If you have to use Optum Rx, avoid their home delivery service at all costs, unless you're okay with getting possibly unusable medication.Review fromScott B

Thes guys are THIEVES. I CHECK EVERYTHING ON the website first (whats covered)since your insurance is sooo pitiful and website lies. I have had NUMEROUS routine visits/procedures that say the copay is one thing then when I get the bill it's always exponentially higher. Then I call for help but your work from home people you hire have no skills, can't figure anything out or just lie to me again. One time they told me a procedure was covered, but it has a $1000 copay. WELL THAT MEANS ITS NOT COVERED! DONT you dare tell people something is covered to shut them up, only for them to receive a bill for $1000!!!!! This is complete garbage, You have NO decency or ethics. This isn't right! I will be looking into a class action lawsuit.UnitedHealth Group

Absolute scam. My wife and I have United and are in the process of having a baby through IVF. We needed to do genetic testing with ****** (who is also a scam) and were told by United what was covered and what isn't. United approved insurance coverage for 90 days so that testing can be done prior to samples being ready so starting the clock before the game started. Obviously be the time testing was finished by ****** (who took longer than they told it would) the coverage window expired. No one notified from United that the window was closing until we got a bill.An appeal was filied but of course with United but of course it was denied. So they denied an appeal for something that they approved too early without asking us, failed to notify us when the window was closing so we could request an extension, and then denied the appeal to fix the thing that they screwed up. Unbelievable. Nice racket that they have where they can be incompetent, s**** everything up themselves, and then charge you because they screwed up. If you can use anywhere else I'd recommend it.UnitedHealth Group

Terrible company with 0 support and accountability. Unfortunately I can't give 0 starts here, but that's what they deserve. I have an HSA account with them from my previous company. Over the course of 2 years, I have tried to transfer my money out and have not been able to do so. I have called multiple times, they have wasted more than 40+ hours of my time and no results. My money is still there and now they charge me an account management fee as I'm using their services, which I really don't want to use. How can I not get my own money? Ridiculous!UnitedHealth Group

1 starOn January 14, 2020, my wire went to ***************************'s office for orthodontic care. She had a Class III Malocclusion, Anterior Cross Bite, Moderate to Severe Crowding, Open Bite Between Upper/Lower Later Incisors' and the Canines on the Right/Left Sides, and Edge to Edge Relations Between the Upper and Lower Incisors.Despite all of the needed treatment and the evidence presented to GEHA, they decided that the work clearly needed was not covered under their plan. We and the Orthodontist have provided all needed information, yet GEHA has denied covering the needed treatment, as covered by their plan.I'm not sure why they continue to deny that they should have to pay for the needed coverage, but it makes me suspect that this is a normal tendency for GEHA.I called and tried to talk to a supervisor, but "****" told me that she "was the supervisor" and I wasn't entitled to speak to her supervisor.Review fromChris L

This IS a horrendous company who needs to train their "advocates" aka CSR's. Each person I speak with has a different answer. I was scheduled for a preventative colonoscopy through ***** months ago. Less than 24 hours before surgery, I was notified by the gastro, they recommended, that UHC denied the preauthorization. I then spoke with one of their "advocates" who told me that the doctor just wanted to charge them triple the amount to do the procedure in the hospital and that they weren't going to approve it. Then they transferred me to another rep who stated that it would be covered entirely because it was preventative. They phoned my doctor and confirmed. I took the prescribed medication, starved myself for 24 hours and 1.5 hours BEFORE the surgery was told, hmmm, sorry, we need a preauthorization now. This was AFTER I starved myself, put medication into my body that made me sick all night and into the morning. It was like I was on the surgery table, sliced open and security rushes in to tell me, so sorry, we still have to work out the money situation. They DO NOT CARE about their patients/members!!!! Their response, please schedule another colonoscopy with a peer to peer authorization. I'M THE PATIENT!!! I don't work for the doctor, nor do I work for ***. Figure it out and do YOUR job! And now I'm sick for no reason other than, GREED!UnitedHealth Group

I have contacted them about a bill and was on the phone for hours betwee the hospital, the health insurance and optum. The hospital and health insurance have been very open and attempted to assist me in my efforts to reimburse payment optum financial. ***** financial is saying I am responsible for paying them back AFTER they paid for a claim but are denying it without explanation outside of only $642.44 of the $2750 was for eligible services. ***** financials help line is answered in a different country, and they can not speak or understand our language enough to answer the simple question, why is $2107 of my payment for the birth of my child being denied as ineligible for reimbursement? I have sumbitted all EOB, itemized claims from the hospital and the bill and they have YET to explain why they are denying payment for such a large portion of the bill. Instead of answering the question they hang up on me. Call was at 1:09pm on 11/15/22.UnitedHealth Group

Their automated process is horrible. An example. They just sent me an email saying my autorefill prescriptions will be shipped soon. Click here for cost.I clicked. Got the generic website. At no time could I get the cost of the upoming delivery. On the website they do not ever reference an upcoming delivery.Nowhere can you get a complete list of all your presciprtions and their current status. It also takes them forever to get a shipment to you.And their Tier 3 pricing is very,, very high.UnitedHealth Group

They get ZERO stars from me! Their ethics are dismal. I was headed for imminent Kidney failure and didn't know it. Then, after consulting with another Urologist he found, using a bladder scanner, that my urine retention was over 500ml. One week later CSUA Urology rushed me into laser surgery to remove over 50% of my very large prostate. In less than 2 weeks my urine retention was down in the normal range and imminent Kidney failure was avoided A simple, low cost bladder scanner was never used by ************************* to monitor urine retention and the impact it was having on my kidneys.UnitedHealth Group
