I called and checked the *** website to see if a doctor was in network. Both said yes. I printed the webpage and they recorded the phone call and gave me a record number. So I went to the doctor and then found out via the *** that this doctor was NOT in network. The visit price was some $300 higher than in-network which *** said I must pay. *** then sent me to their **************** to try and recover some of this money but they never admitted their mistake. After filing a complaint with the ***************************** *** gave me some of the money back but not all. So even though I did all the checking I should do up-front and had clear records of it I am still out $100. No one can hold a huge insurer like *** to account and force them to take ownership of their mistakes. Their customers always pay. Do not do business with them if you can avoid it. I am from ** where their HQ is and people in this state hate them. Billions in profit every quarter and horrible "actual" insurance benefits. They in fact do NOT offer ******** advantage policies in MN because the state has rules and enforces them which *** doesn't like. So they avoid MN - wow! All that matters to *** is money, money, money....UnitedHealth Group

After nine months of successful payments for my surgery, my payment didnt clear one month. Less than 30 days later, they sent my bill to collections. They didnt call me. They didnt inform me that my bill was sent to collections. Collections didnt contact me. After over a year, collections submitted a credit report tanking my credit by over 50 points. Even after settling my bill, this will effect my credit for the next 7 years. This affects my ability to get a home for my family and my daughter for the next 7 years. I called once I realized what had happened. They said this was standard practice and there was nothing they can do to help. This whole time I believed that I had no outstanding balance as I check it repeatedly. This is disgusting and criminal. Getting care here will ruin your life.UnitedHealth Group

Terrible company and absolutely horrible sales **** ***** ***********. I told ***** I chose to go a different direction for my health insurance and to cancel my policy before it was even in affect. Which was two weeks PRIOR to the effective start date. I still end up charged hundreds of dollars of something I DID NOT authorize. I contacted ***** and he state's "You should have texted me back". 1 starI had an ACL repair surgery, which requires months of physical therapy in order to return to normal function. After 20 sessions of physical therapy (10 weeks), they told me they would no longer cover any more. I tried to collect an appeal through my surgeon, with my surgeon confirming that continued physical therapy was medically necessary, but they still refused my appeal for more physical therapy, saying I'd have to pay out of pocket. Since stopping physical therapy, I've partially torn my hamstring taking off my shoe, because it is too weak. My mobility is decreasing because UnitedHealthcare won't cover my medical needs. I have been having trouble with the way that they're processing claims. They are either purposely processing claims incorrectly so that you're charged more for services that are supposed to be covered or presenting an option as covered on their website and it is not. Either way they're defrauding people. I have called and talked to their support line probably 10 times in the last 3 weeks and I never get the same answer twice.UnitedHealth Group

Terrible customer service. ************************** plan canceled without notification and no one at united healthcare is assisting with a solution and directs me to marketplace which they should not as my application was through united healthcare and not the marketplace. Being that ******** is super expensive, I can only get 30 days at a time, for my elderly mom.I had to go out of town, tried to get just 1 week early refill. After being approved, and re-sibmitting the prescription to *********, was denied again, for insurance.This place makes it almost impossible, to get your medicine, before you run out. The lab messed up on my blood work and my doctor had me go back to get my blood work redone. The lab didn't do all the tests that my doctor submitted to the lab. My insurance covered the first blood work, but the second one I'm required to pay the difference. There is no account ability by Optum and due to their mistake, I wasted my time getting blood work done again and have to pay out of pocket due to their mistake. Their is no accountability and just got AI message in response stating I still need to pay.UnitedHealth Group
