United healthcare has been horrible. I have myasthenia gravis and they will not approve IVIG treatment. In the denial they sent a list of things I must meet. One of these items is to take a checkpoint inhibitor such as ********. People with MG should not take this medicine it is contraindicated and could cause me to go into a crisis or worse die. The manufacture of these medications even say if you have MG do not take this medication. Its scary how a health insurance company gets to play doctor and dictate your course of treatment. If they knew anything about this disease they would know we can not take these medications. This is very dangerous of UHC. You have never treated me. My doctor knows what is best. Shame on you UHC for denying me life saving treatment and trying to force me into taking a medication that could possibly kill me.UnitedHealth Group

1 starThis is the wet worst insurance ever!!! In October I was supposed to have a simple til of my big toe removal. The insurance didnt approve that first surgery, so we pushed if a week, the second week the surgery wasnt approved. The MD and his price staff called every day and still no approval. We pushed it back another week. I then called and requested that the approval be expedited. By October 24, I was so sick that I couldnt eat anc was throwing up. We ended up in the *** When the ** MD unwrapped my foot, my entire toe was purple and had to be removed. I was in the hospital for a week. I went to wound care the following Tuesday and wound up back in the *** needing the other 4 toes removed. Because of all this, I havent been able to work since October, Ive had to do 4-5 months of hyperbaric chamber treatment, had to have 3 surgeries and have cataracts, that require surgery. I feel that Inerd some sort of compensation due to their gross negligence. Trying to call them is a joke! I either get transferred 4-5 times or I get put on hold for 30+ minutes, with no one checking in on me. My MD did say that in his 35 years of practice, hes never seen anything like this,Review fromCaitlin S

I have an *** with Optum and since I started contributing in November, they have not sent me my card, and I have not been able to gain access to my online account to use my funds. I have called twice and spoken to 2 different representatives who have not been able to get my into my account and I have sent 4 emails to IT Support (email given to me by customer service), with no response. I have also requested a card be sent to me again since I never received one and it has been almost 2 weeks with no card delivered. It feels borderline fraudulent that I have been contributing to an *** out of my paycheck for months and I am not able to access my funds through no fault of my own. I will now loose all the funds I have contributed since 5/31 is the forfeit deadline to spend them.UnitedHealth Group

What a joke of a company and I hope you go out of business. Making my 95 year old dad pay $480 for a $30 prescription of ******* is outrageous!!!! What an insult to an old man who worked all his life and PAYS FOR YOUR COVERAGE. Your company should be ashamed of itself for doing this and I hope your company goes down.UnitedHealth Group

********************** does not provide the health coverage that is originally listed in their sales package .If I didn't have a screenshot of these materials, I would have no access to what is supposed to be covered. Their claims are random, usually resulting in no coverage for even a basic doctor visit, and then a paper check sent for a $7.00 refund. What raises my alarm even more is how inaccessible Freedom Life is with information and the ability to contact this company. I am in the process of canceling my policies, and "******** D" told me by phone that there is no confirmation number or way to cancel in writing. This archaic way of doing business just sends customers in circles. I have little faith that Freedom Life will cancel my policy, and I believe they will try to keep collecting money from me for services that they never actually intended to provide. I can see that I am not alone when I read the other complaints about *********************** US Health Group should be ashamed that they are offering this sham policy. My policy, #**Z831227B, needs to be canceled on 5/31 with no further payment, or I will contact my state senator about the misleading practices of this company.UnitedHealth Group

I hope it's acceptable to leave negative feedback here. This has been the worst experience I've had with a healthcare insurance company. United Healthcare claims to provide 100% coverage for annual physical exams, but after completing mine, they found excuses to bill me for certain tests. They provided medical codes and essentially said, Sorry, these tests arent covered.I contacted both the hospital and my doctor, and they confirmed that these tests are typically 100% covered by most insurance plans. This experience has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing.Maybe United Healthcare should consider providing a detailed handbook to its customers, advising them to bring it to their appointments and go over each exam code line by line with their doctor. Apparently, thats the only way to avoid unexpected charges for services that are covered by other insurance providers.UnitedHealth Group

The worst. Give you either lies or misinformation about your claim, then put you on hold for 30+ minutes. Appeals process is difficult to manage and they ask for information that is hard to get. I had an in network claim that they disallowed. Then they admitted, yes, your provider is in network. But then they denied the claim!UnitedHealth Group
