They have no idea what they are doing. Why were they even selected to handle government loans? You can't get through to talk to them. And their website or app does not work half the time. They have told me that I owe three different amounts. So I honestly have no idea how much I should pay a month. Each time I have communicated with them. I have been given different answers. So I just pay the average of the three amounts every month and pray that that will still allow me to have my loans forgiven.

Phone system is designed to deflect calls. I've made my full payments every month since Oct 2023 but they have not updated my remaining balance. They have fully withdrawn the payments- they are not pending. And the account I'm sending the money to is correct. They have taken the money and not updated my balance. To make matters worse, they continue to INCREASE my balance by the amount of accrued interest. The balance they are reporting to the credit bureaus does not account for any of the payments I've made since Oct 2023. They are reporting the increase in balance due to interest, but NOT reporting the payments made or lowering the balance accordingly. My Payment History continues to show 0 payments made. It takes HOURS to speak with someone and I've requested supervisor call backs and sometimes they call, sometimes they don't. They never can figure out what's going on and I keep getting the run-around. I want to switch loan servicers but I'm afraid if I do so without resolving this they will never give me credit for the over $3,000 I've sent them. All those payments are supposed to apply to my PSLF as well, but when I request my PSLF report, none of them are on there. I've opened disputes with the credit bureaus and MOHELA's response was that they WERE updating my balance, and they conveniently failed to acknowledge that the updates were only showing the INCREASE due to interest and NOT counting the actual payments. This company should be sued out of business. I've even had a lawyer send them a letter, but I'm almost giving up hope. I've been fighting them for months and taken too many hours/days of my life and messed with my life and happiness.

Mohela took over my wife's school loans as a supposing benefit for a City employee for possible studentoan forgieness, and now she is paying more payments monthly. Calling Mohela ends up with her waiting over an hour to speak to someone. She would prefer to be back with her original student loan plan, but it is not possible. We both work in *********, so why does she have pay to her School student loan to Missouri State? This appears to have been a scam to take my wife's loans to make more money off the working class. This must be stopped. There was no benefit except headache in this time consuming process.

Sent a payoff check over 2 months ago. They only applied to2 of my 4 loans so now im overpaid yet I still somehow have a balance. Called multiple times talked to many different people and months later I STILL AM BEING CHARGED WHEN THEY HAVE BEEN OVERPAID BY ALMOST 600$ No matter who I talk to it isnt being fixed. My old servicer never had these issue. THIS IS A PREDATORY COMPANY. If I could give 0 stars I would

This company should not be servicing loans. They took over servicing my loan and never notified me. My account became past due because I had no way to pay it or any way to view it online. The transfered me to one person after the other, all less knowledgable than the last. They refused to help, which led to me filling complaints with the fed. They are clearly unable to handle the contract that the US department of education has given them and as a taxpayer this is concerning.

I have been sent letters for the last two months stating my payment has been reversed by my bank. I called my bank and there has been no attempt on my account to pull the money out. I wish I did not have to deal with such a scam company!

ZERO stars. Their customer service process is set up to intentionally keep you waiting through several transfers. I have had to call them multiple times in the last two months for the same mistake that they keep making on their end. I have to wait forever for an initial person who then tells me I have to wait again for a "specialist". I always ask for a phone number directly to the "specialist" since they do this every time and supposedly there isn't one. They continually place random PSLF payments as "eligible" but not as "qualified" even though my employer has been the SAME ONE for ten years now and has done the online signature MULTIPLE TIMES just this year. How can they get away with such an overtly dysfunctional service system? HELP.

I am the spouse of a military soldier who recently deployed overseas for almost a year, and with that, I qualify for the **** benefits to get debt relief on my bills at interest rates > 6% to a flat rate of 6% or less. I sent in all the documentation for proof and MOHELA denied my claims! The representative on the phone told me I didn't qualify, but she never checked the fine print that it's a Federal Law extended to spouses and servicemen. She placed me on hold and had to read the policies, and I educated her on the law. Any company that runs an already shady business and can't take the time to learn the federal laws regarding different benefits for servicemen and women must be closed down! I should not have been the person to teach you what it meant! She then goes on to say I didn't qualify for my state! I had to reiterate her that its federal not a statewide law, federal applies to all states! So, a place disregarding the law doesn't need to be open for operations! Mohela is a complete waste of business! P.S. Is there a way to give them a 1/2 a star?

I would give them a 0 if possible. I've had with MOHELA for less than a year and I have too many problems to count. I had ***************** for years and never experienced this many problems. I've called MOHELA more times this year than I ever called MyFedLoan. At this point, I think MOHELA's mistakes are intentional and a way to prevent people from reaching their 120th payment and apply for PSLF. This makes no sense. MOHELA has consistency made mistakes processing my paperwork and have not been honoring my requests to fix their mistakes. I am always on hold with customer service for hours just to be hung up on. How are they still in business given their pending lawsuits and long history of poor customer service

Mohela recently changed their online portal for borrowers. Now that I'm in the new portal, my payment terms have changed, the order in which the payments are made have changed, my payoff date has extended and much more. All of this is due to them changing my payment terms to make more money on interest. I did not approve any changes to these terms, and wonder if these are illegal practices. This company should be looked into for changing terms causing borrowers to pay more in interest without consent.
