My government student loans were automatically transferred to Mohela without any choice in the matter. I am having difficulty making payments on my student loan. Initially, I attempted to make a payment through their website. About five days later I received an email that my financial institution blocked the payment and I should contact them. I went to my bank and they saw no activity on my acct and said they wouldn't have blocked a payment in the *** that I made. Then I called to make the payment over the phone with an agent. Same thing happened. Received an email that the payment was blocked.Last night I attempted to make a payment by phone with their automated system. Once I entered the amount then I get the recording "I don't understand..." Again, the payment doesn't go through. Today I called an agent who then told me she was going to transfer me into the automated system to make a payment (after I had been on hold for half an hour). Also, payments via wire transfer or credit card are not an option.Making zelle payments through my bank has been the only working option. Note that the interest on the loan is charged on a daily basis, so I am feeling quite cynical about the difficulty in making payments so I can bring my balance down. The system won't allow me to leave a zero star review which is what they deserve.

Tried to get everything squared away before Federal Student Loan Pause ends. Used Student Aid. ***'s new streamlined application for the REPAYE/SAVE Plan. Just got my new monthly payment amount (which is $100 more than Student Aid Gov estimated, so I re-reviewed the application that was auto-populated and transmitted along with my IRS Tax Return. For some reason the application shows that my wife has student loans (she doesn't) and that I don't have any dependents ( I have a child - who, coincidentally is listed on my Tax Return that was sent to MOHELA). I'm sure this'll get rectified eventually but I'm confident that i'll have to manually resubmit the application and overpay for several months - that's how it was with ****** and then Fedloan Servicing). I submitted a written request to MOHELA last week - no response. Been on the phone two days in a row for 1+ hour plus trying to talk to a human. I don't mind paying what I owe, but I'm tired of having to correct these servicer's mistakes and wasting my time to fix them.

We are days away from student loans restarting and they still cannot figure out my monthly payments. First letter sent was $200 a month, I called and they changed it verbally to $77 a month, got a letter saying Id pay $110 in the mail, called and they agreed that I should be paying $77 a month again. Seems criminal? No one I speak with knows whats happening right now with student loans. What a disaster.

My student loan already on PSLF ***** was transfered to MOHELA, and I have been submitting my redetermination form yearly after the transfer . MOHELA has refused to continue my plan on my newer loans of PSLF. On their own *****, MOHELA is bent on putting me in other forbearance or plans that I did not solicite for; it is either that or they are sending or threating me to make payment under their self imputted plans. I have with difficulty (phone wait time is between and hour and two) attempted to resolve the isuue with their reps and I have wriiten four letters redirecting them to my PSLF qualification.Anyone who has their CEO's contact information should please post

If I could give zero stars I would and I notice not one of these complaints have been addressed. This has been the most frustrating experience! It has made me want to quit grad school. I took out student loans for the first semester. When I completed the ***** I was matched with MOHELA and proceeded to process the minimum required for that semester only. However, more loans were processed under my name for schools that I do not even attend. I have called several times and the loans were rejected and terminated from the schools end. Yet, MOHELA still has them listed on my account. I have made numerous calls to have them removed. I wait on the phone for over an hour to be told call back in two months because it takes time for the "formal paperwork to process" I refuse to take out more loans until this is fixed which means graduate school is on hold.

This is the most incompetent organization I ever came in contact with! MY PSLF account was transferred to them from FedLoan and since it was it has been nothing but chaos! I sent in my last PSLF application in January of 2023. I am 3 payments from my 120 qualifying payments. March comes and they notify me that my payment count was updated but it was still at 117. Turns out they said that the eliglbility of my employer changed but my employer is still a non-profit. I submit the paperwork to prove my employer is still non-profit now they say that Studentaid.gov has to determine the eligibility but Student Aid said no that's MOHELA's job. Nothing has changed about my employment or employer and this only happened once my account transferred to MOHELA. I can't get any straight answers.

MOHELA did a deceitful act in stealing $4,500 of a payment I made in March 6, 2023, and I have reported to CFPB, FTC, Federal Attorney general, Department of Educations, and the incompetent MOHELA itself. Below situation has been resolved since but to be aware always that MOHELA can not be trusted!!!

MOHELA is incompetent. I've spoken to 5 different people and received 5 different pieces of information. I've waited on hold for hours at a time. My phone call has been disconnected and never returned (even though they ask your permission to phone you back if the call is dropped). I have no confidence in this company whatsoever. We have lined up everything to close escrow, but because MOHELA's hasn't provided loan discharge information months and months after we expected it, we haven't been able to close. Literally this is the worst experience I've had with a business, private or public, know my entire life. The *** should be sent to prison.

Awful, awful customer service. You basically talk to someone "in training" every time you call with a supervisor "on the line" listening. You will be told a completely different story every time you call. You will wait hours on hold and get transferred, with no one picking up the call. I know that I have more than enough payment counts. After 3 years of waiting, having "duplicate" forms (nope), having canceled forms (nope), I'm now being told maybe those years before the waiver won't be counted (after being told for 3 years they ARE being counted). It's a joke. I've been at the same school for 20 years, have been paying my loans the entire time. Very confused people working here and supervisors who should not be getting supervisory roles. Wish I could leave 1 star.

Communication is a nightmare. I paid off my loan and have waited over 2 months for it to be reported to the credit agencies. Nothing. Crickets. So I try emailing them...no way to do so except with their list of frequently asked questions, which was not my question. tive who stated she is gathering information to collect a debt (what debt? I've paid off the loan). So I call, follow the seemingly endless run of automated questions only to put on hold for a representative for about 15 minutes. The first thing the representative states is she is gathering information to collect a debt (what debt? I've paid off the loan). Finally get to ask when it will be reported and I get put on hold for 27 minutes, only to be told the supervisor says it gets reported after 3 billing cycles. Why? No answer. It should not be so difficult to speak to someone or simply send a darn email.
