      Rude customer service people that try to talk you in circles instead of giving real answers to issues I have. My bill rises even though my usage stays the same. Also customer service informed me that evergy only recognizes 2 seasons winter and summer, claims winter rates are lower and winter starts Oct. 1st. Oct. 1st? Usage hasn't changed much because Oct and Nov weren't cold. Also claimed my meter malfunctioning wasn't even plausible. In all circumstances the problem is you not them.

      My house has lost power 7 times in the last 5 months. 4 of these instances were DAYS after bringing home my newborn baby when it was 104 degrees outside. I am sick and tired of hearing all of the excuses that the customer service reps spit out… “post COVID we haven’t been able to hire enough workers…”, “I have filed a complaint to our design team and they should reach out to you to discuss your problem…” (never happened). We spend HUNDREDS of dollars every month on our energy bill and we have NEVER had a late payment. We have lived in this house for a year and a half and the ONLY reason I have considered moving is because of the lack of trust in our electricity. My husband and I were approached by evergy months after we moved in asking to have rights to an easement on our property that spans all across our side yard and the entire length of our backyard. We were told that as part of this easement they would be burying our power lines (which would have prevented all of the power outages that we experienced in the last 4 months) but they continue to tell us that they don’t know when the project will start, or they will give us a date and then that day will come and go with no action. This company is a money hungry monopoly that really needs to step up and provider better quality service.

      I called because I was unable to keep my payment arrangement due to medical reasons. I ask the agent if broken would they allow reset and he stated yes call back after next bill comes out. I was then told upon calling back that I would not be able to reset until I paid the full past due which was not explained to me. I ask for a supervisor who I asked if she could listen to the call. Even if she couldn’t do anything about my bill she would possibly beable to coach the agent so no one else would have this experience. She got back on the phone and told me I was trying to coach the agent to say what I wanted whenever I was only getting clarification on if I would be able to reset. Seeing how electric is very important one to be able to work since I work from home and two having a medical condition. I was completely offended and shocked that her being a supervisor would disrespect my character in that way. Evergy needs to retrain their supervisor. Just because someone is having hard time in life you dont have to make them feel like crap and disrespect them. Im truly disgusted and disappointed by this supervisor actions

      Money hungry company who will soon be part owners of Spire. Poorly trained customer service representatives who all will tell you different information. I have had my identity stolen in the past so I put a security block on my account years prior. I now want it removed due to the trouble it causes me when wanting to start service. I have to comply with all this personal information and documents just to have to wait an additional 3-5 days for a response and the reps will not remove it. I am now without power in my new apartment and Evergy could careless despite providing all of the information days prior.

      This business is a monopoly. My usage has not changed at all since I've lived here and in 5 years my bills have tripled. The entire business needs to be broken up into competing groups.

      I am on a fixed income and cant always pay by the due date and asked if the late fee could be waived. No such luck. The gal just asked if SSI was the only income I had like I should have another source of income. So Im stuck with paying late fees. Great service for people who are struggling.

      Definitely taking advantage of having no competition. For ong me to pay in cash because there was a supposed declined payment I was never made aware of from last year. Found out because the would not accept card payment **** -23. They say I was declined in 22. ??. They don't care about customers because they don't have to. Ask the people in Brookside!

      Evergy acts so staunch on the phone about playing by the rules. However, when brought to their attention about something that was their mistake, they make it the customers fault. For example. I called them when we moved back to Kansas City. I asked them to set up our account and then went online and have been paying for the bill and I have been the one that does all communication with them. Today, I called I to change something and they said I could not make changes as I am ont on the account! What? I set the account up! However, it is just under my husband's name. He doesn't use internet and has NEVER spoken to them. I tried to put my name on the account. They needed my SS number. I don't give that out over phone. They have no place on line I could add it. They said they found my name under a previous account. Now need to check my credit, just to put my name on account. I am not unfreezing my credit. I don't care if on the account. They have talked to me, allowed me to set up online bill pay, and taken my money for the past 3 years! Unbelievable the hoops they put a person thru when it was their fault they left my name off the account. AMAZING!

      Evergy is a classic example of large companies caring more about money than providing a good service. Their costs just keep increasing somehow even though my usage doesn't change. Forget about trying to get ahold of customer service, I don't know if I have every been transferred that many times in a phone call. When Kansas City had a storm July 14th the only communication that they provided for the next 3-5 days trying to get power on across the city is, "We know there are outages, we are working on it." I am sure that their removal team was very hard at work but they have zero transparency when it comes to communicating to their customers. They've introduced to friends of mine forced installment for these "smart meters" and their bills have only increased post installation. One of the biggest mistakes this city did was let Evergy take over the energy grid from Power and Light. You have a family member or loved one on medical life support better hope you paid your bill on time otherwise you're sh*t out of luck! Money hungry company going to money hungry until we do something about it!

      This used to be a straight forward company to work with. Phone calls could resolve issues in. Matter of minutes. Now they dont staff enough customer service representatives to handle call volume on a typical weekday. You cant find a number to call unless googling how to talk to a human at Evergy. This is not what the world should becoming more like. Please use this as an example of how monopolies are bad for us all. They spend their money on website design, yet I cant get a hold of anyone? If I had a choice I would drop Evergy in and instant, but I cant. They have a MONOPOLY over this area and it should be illegal.
