1 starDon't use this gas company!!!! I was a Ferrell Gas customer for over 28 years and never had an issue. When forced air gas was brought into our city in ****** *********, I cancelled my contract with Ferrell Gas. In August 2021, I requested they remove the propane gas tank with notice to me. They cancelled three scheduled visits. After a rainy, snowy week when the ground was soft and saturated with water, they show up without notice and drove a huge truck onto my property trying to remove a 500 gallon tank and got stuck. A semi truck tow truck was needed to pull the gas truck out. My lawn was destroyed -- ruts over a foot deep from both the tow truck and gas truck. That's 4 to 6 ruts ***** ft long. The tow truck sat on my driveway and destroyed it. I called Ferrell Gas with no answer. Finally I was connected to *********************** in Ferrell's insurance department. They deny the damage. It has cost me a lot of money to fix my property. Their lack of response is unacceptable. I would find and use any other gas company in the city and avoid Ferrell Gas. Not taking responsibility for damage is unacceptable.Review fromSD S

1 starDon't use this company!!! My Mother bought a house that had a propane tank for the gas fireplace and outdoor grill. She was being charged "rent" for the tank even though she didn't want it and asked to have it removed. The rep who came out terrified her with comments like "we'll have to close down your neighborhood to remove the tank because it could explode." She opted to have it shut down instead. That was a few years ago. Now, she had a gas leak and they charged her an emergency fee to come out. This rep said the tank safety valve was never shut off. He said it would be easy to remove and not to worry about it. He removed the tank and capped the line to the house. Then, she got a bill for almost $500 without an estimate and with this being their own tank that they were removing!Review fromFran P

1 starThis is a company without ethics. I live in a rural area and rely on propane for heat, hot water and cooking, as well as for a generator that gets us through many prolonged power outages. Ferrellgas has been so unreliable about deliveries that we have gotten down to near-zero percent in our tank, several times. We have had to go without heat and power on the coldest days of winter, with sequential bomb cyclones flooding the area. For the past eight months or so, I have had to beg them to deliver gas to my leased tank. They know that customers with leased tanks are locked in to Ferrellgas contracts. We cant go elsewhere for fuel. So, they abuse that, and they abuse **. They have shut off their online ordering and account monitoring system, so there is no way to check on orders. They say the system is down, but its been down for a couple months or more. Something is going on with Ferrellgas, and customers are suffering. This should be investigated by the state. It should not take a month to get a gas order filled.Review fromDianne P

1 starOn Feb 13, 2023 I received a phone call from a delivery man for Ferrellgas asking me to open the gate on our driveway so he could deliver propane. I explained to him that I was out of state at *********** and there was no way I could get back in time to open the gate.. I also explained that over the 12 years of service with Ferrell I had asked repeatedly that they call the day or night before delivery so I could open the gate for the delivery. About three weeks later another Ferrell gas truck came and made a delivery. I subsequently received two bills from Ferrell for deliveries on 2/13 for 649 gallons and again on 3/03 for 755 gallons. In 12 years i have never needed two deliveries within three weeks. Over twelve years I have had only three deliveries per YEAR. On 3/16 I called Ferrell and spoke to ****** who could not explain how I could have used that much propane over such a short period of time. She had no answers but said someone would call me within 24 hours. I have never received a call back. I subsequently wrote to the general manage with the same question with a return receipt requested so I know the letter was received at Ferrell. So far no response. I don't know where the "delivery" on 2/13/2023 was made, but I strongly suspect it was not to our tanks because I see no way the driver could have accessed our driveway to get to the tanks. Also if they were in fact filled on 2/13 I can see no way they would be empty enough to take 755 gallons more in just a few weeks. I would love an explanation from Ferrell.Review fromElizabeth E

1 starIf I could give a negative rating I would. We bought our property and our unlabeled tanks where included. we as the new home owners never signed a agreement with ferrellgas. We just ordered from them because that's who the previous owner recommend. realizing they charge atleast a dollar more than our local family ran provider, and they wouldn't treat us as new costumers at our new address. They wouldn't change how we could pay because the previous owner was red flagged at our address. So every time we ordered propane we had to pay immediately over the phone. So we with all that we decided to leave ferrellgas. And we assumed our unlabeled tanks where ours. Well I came home on my lunch break to find our tanks gone with 350 dollars worth of propane gone with no warning. It was going to be 33F that night and we have two children. One 11 month old and one 4 year old. They won't reimburse us for the propane they stole. In fact they won't work with us at all. Clearly they have no compassion. Luckily our new providers have a heart and came out immediately that evening and set up our new tanks, so we wouldn't be cold overnight. We still have no idea who the tanks actually belong to, but all they needed to do was give us a heads up before they removed our tanks that where almost full while we where at work and we could've made arrangements to keep our propane. I will never tell anyone to use this company they are too big of a company to truly care for costumers.Review fromKara B

1 starWe moved into a house that had been empty for years but a propane tank already installed. After doing my own investigation I found out ferrellgas was the owner. After they did their own investigation found out it was in fact theirs. I had them fill it once but afterwards was really hard to get ahold of them. We went a different route and after 3 years they start calling saying I owe for tank rentals which I knew nothing about. I finally had them come get the tank and the guy was a total a** After getting the tank on the truck the idiot pulls around to leave and gets stuck in the mud after spraying rocks and digging big holes he finally gets the shovel and digs himself out. He did attempt to fix his mess but what an a** I do love being able to watch instant karma happen.Review fromJeff T

1 starAsked for an Emergency Fill which they did charged my CC only to receive a call from them 20 minutes later that they cant do an emergency fill but they could get to us in 4 days. When requesting our money back they said 4 to 5 business days. Left this company same day for a local supplier who had us setup 1 and 1/2 hours.Review fromMark G

1 starExtremely UNRELIABLE! If you own your own tank and are down to the 25% to 30% level in your tank, look elsewhere to get your fill-up (I typically go with KC because they ARE the low-price leader, and they are there within the week, if not the next day, for sure)! I used these Ferrellgas knuckleheads this time because of a mailer I received, showing a decent per-gallon price...BEWARE! this is a SCAM (their fees that they tack on negate any savings that they trick you into thinking you're going to get)! They take your payment info at the time of your order (money is taken from your account immediately) and you're told that they'll be there to fill your tank within the NEXT TWO WEEKS!!! I am STILL waiting for my delivery (12 days now, since I placed my order!!) and my 250gal tank is at 5%! I've had to turn off my furnace and live in a 60 degree house! I've had to limit our laundry, cooking and showering use, so as not to empty the tank before those Ferrellgas imbeciles decide it's time to finally deliver something I have already paid for almost two weeks ago!!! VERY poorly-run business, NOT customer-friendly when you call them on the phone to find out when you might get your delivery AND they charge an additional $200 if you need them to come any sooner then they tell you at the time of your order!!! This is a B*LLS**T company! I wish I could go on national news and warn everyone about these inconsiderate idiots! One star, only because I have to, in order to post this review...otherwise, it would be negative (-50) stars!!Review fromJon M

1 starLess than 1 star.....I have leased a 250 gallon propane tank from Ferrell gas for 4 years. Initially the lease was $75 a year for the tank . After 4 yrs it is now $150 a year for the tank. March 13th 2023, I called for a fill and their auto attendant order system charged $4.58 a gallon for propane. I had no idea at that time that was ridiculously high. I researched and regional prices are lower than $3 a gallon for my location. Called back to complain and they eventually lowered to ***** a gallon but with no explanation as to why they initially wanted $4.58. Talked with our neighbor and he had a $2.29 per gallon rate as he owns his own tank and likely ***** more propane and Ferrell has to compete with other vendors for his buisness. So if you rent a Ferrell tank they are the only ones who can fill it , so they will dictate the price, and charge a higher rate on the propane because you have no other option. I do not recommend doing any business with Ferrell Gas . Do not rent a tank from them if you can help it. Unfortunately they are marginalizing lower income households who rent these tanks and then overcharge for propane.
