1 starA big disappointment. Our order was in on February 25, 2025. Just like many I have read, our order was pushed off 4 times from week of 4/20 to 5/25. We tried multiple times to contact the company through email and leaving phone messages...no response. After a ******** inquiry to an ad explaining the situation, we were contacted with an apology, a small discount and the promise of the order being shipped the week of 5/4. The very next day, it was pushed off again to the week of 5/18. I understand weather and labor issues as mentioned, but why charge our card and not provide product within a week or so of doing so? Otherwise, don't charge the card and just apologize for the inability to fulfill our order of 17+ trees. This doesn't include the 20 ***** bushes/vines we ordered in April and are seeing the same sequence of events. We are first and last time customers.Review fromBlake H

1 starI would NOT recommend you purchase from Stark Bros. My shipping date kept getting pushed back for months. What made me even more dissatisfied: their site continued to advertise a shipping date on the product page that was sooner than the shipping date shown on my account order details! False advertising! After repeated attempts to get an answer from their "great" customer service I was advised that I should be patient and that I was wrong about the shipping dates. (I have screenshots). To be fair, the tree did finally arrive in good condition after months of waiting. But with all the other great nurseries out there, I wouldn't ****** on Stark Bros.Review fromAmy F

1 starI had heard great things about Stark Brothers. Unfortunately, I have not had a good experience. I ordered a bareroot crabapple tree in April and a couple days later ordrred bareroot strawberries. So far I have only received emails pushing shipping out at the end of each week that they are promised, though logging into the account I see I owe 48 cents more because they calculated tax wrong. I ordered late and I am not feeling confident that my plants will survive, but I do hope they arrive soon. I tried using their "live chat" twice but it was a bit that had me submit a teouble ticket twice. I received acknowledgement of the tickets but no follow-up.Review fromGilbert T

I ordered 3 apple trees, 3 peach trees, 4 cherry trees, and 3 bundles of asparagus on March 22nd for a total cost of about $740. At the time of the order I received an email that said my order would ship at the end of March or first of April. I received two emails in the first couple of weeks of April saying my shipping date had been postponed and then the COMMUNICATION STOPPED. I have been logging onto my account and checking my order status and it has been pushed back repeatedly. It's now May 6th and my scheduled ship date was at the very end of May, well after planting time. I have tried to call Stark Bros multiple times and no one answers or returns my phone calls. I also emailed them through their website a couple of times and no one has emailed me back. I cancelled my order today because it's too late to plant. I am very frustrated at the complete lack of communication. I'm posting this review because this is the only website I've seen that Stark Bros seems to respond to. I do not recommend ordering from Stark Bros until they have addressed their customer service issues. On March 14, 2025, I placed an order for pear trees, expecting them to be shipped during the week of March 23, 2025. However, since then, I have received bi-weekly emails about ongoing shipping delays, with the latest notification pushing the shipment date to May 18, 2025. This feels like false advertising, as it seems the company is more focused on securing payments than delivering products on time. Furthermore, the optimal planting season for pear trees in my area concludes at the end of March, which adds to my frustration. The shipping delays this season have been largely driven by prolonged periods of unseasonably cold and frigid weather in our region. As a nursery that ships live, dormant trees, we must ensure that plants are shipped only when they are safe to travel and be successfully planted. This has, unfortunately, pushed back our timeline more than anticipated.
We also want to acknowledge your concern regarding communication. We regret that our customer service did not provide you with the support and clarity you deserve. That is not the experience we strive to deliver. I have personally asked our shipping department to review your order and determine whether it can be prioritized for an earlier ship date.
We understand how important it is to receive your trees within your ideal planting window, and we never intend to mislead our customers. Our goal is always to be transparent, and were sorry that this situation has felt otherwise.

On the website, they say they will ship the next day, then send you an email week after week, delaying your order. Had 3 separate emails extending the shipping out. Need to update website better, if you have low stock or aren't able to ship for a month, be upfront.Stark Bro's Nursery & Orchards Co

Please know that all of our shipping dates are estimated, as we rely solely on our growers to provide us with timelines for when each living product is ready to ship. Unfortunately, this spring presented unique challenges specifically, extended periods of frigid temperatures across the ******* in February and March, which significantly delayed harvesting for many varieties.
We understand how disappointing it is to see your order delayed multiple times, especially when youre eager to get planting. We agree that transparency is key, and were continually working to improve the communication on our website and in our customer emails to better reflect potential delays.

Stark Bros is great at taking the order and charging the card. Then they don't ship. They have delayed and delayed my blackberry shipment until it will now be too late to plant in my area have any hope of survival. Now the other nurseries are sold out (because it is too late to ship to me in the south) and so I am delayed by a year getting blackberries in the ground. Reading other reviews this is not a glitch but a tactic. They used to be one of the best. That is over now. Stay away from Stark Bros.Stark Bro's Nursery & Orchards Co

This season, February and March brought unusually harsh weather to much of the *******, where our nursery is located. Because we grow and ship living plants, we are at the mercy of the weathernot just for safe shipping, but also for when the plants are mature and healthy enough to leave our facility. This can sometimes result in delays that dont always line up with the ideal planting windows for certain zones, and we completely understand how disappointing that can be.
That said, our potted blackberries are actually quite flexible and can be safely planted throughout the growing seasoneven in warmer southern zonesso they typically transplant well beyond early spring.
I do see that your order was canceled and that your refund was successfully processed today, 4/21. Please allow up to 3 business days for the funds to be reflected on your end.
Were genuinely sorry this experience didnt meet your expectations. Its never our intention to cause delays or disappoint our customers. Thank you for giving us a try, and we hope we can earn back your trust in the future.Review fromAaron W

I've gotten so many trees, berries, and grape plants from them over the years, and continue to reap the benefits of locally grown, delicious fruit. 1 starHave not received any products or responses to my call and emails. Dates pushed back, some plants will either die entire during the middle of summer, if they do, it's the worst time to plant them in our zone. Update: finally talked with someone after extensive hold time. They can't find the products or specific information to cancel orders so will go through bank to get money back.
