January 7th ***** Take 5 oil change **************************************************************************************** I took my car to get an oil change everything fine before taking it in. After taking it in I smell a burning smell and smoking smelll coming from underneath it. When looking up underneath it I see oil leaking and take it back to take 5 and they said they see its leaking and asked me if the work was performed above or below I say I just seen it being done below which lets me know they didnt do it correctly. So then he told me it needs a new ******** pan gasket or Rear main seal. I advised him they would be paying to get it fixed and asked for corporate info so I could contact him and he advised me he didnt have that info.

On November 28, 2024 I spent $106.36 on an oil change and air filter at Take 5 on **************. After receiving this oil change, the oil light was reset to reflect the recent oil change. After driving for a few days, I noticed that my engine oil was reading lower than usual. On December 20, 2024 all of the oil and coolant had completely leaked from the bottom of my vehicle. Due to the holidays, I was unable to get my car into a shop until January 6, 2025. From there, I was told that my oil filter coolant housing was leaking and was referred to a different mechanic as that shop was unable to do the repair. On January 13, I was able to have my vehicle towed to another mechanic and was quoted over $400 for the repair. As of today, January 18, 2025 I am still waiting on my vehicle to be repaired. When doing my research and after speaking with the mechanic, we were able to determine that the leak was caused by an oil filter that was installed incorrectly. During said research, I was made aware of the various complaints against Take 5 as the company has made a practice of hiring individuals with little to no actual car maintenance experience. This incident has cost me nearly $1000 ($420 in car repairs, roughly $500 in lyft costs, bus passes, grocery deliveries, and meal deliveries).

On Friday, January 17th, at approximately 4:30 PM, I brought my *** in for an oil change. This was my second visit to this location; my first visit about a year ago was quick and efficient. This time, I opted for a full synthetic oil change (around $99). While checking in, the attendant recommended I consider purchasing new windshield wipers since they were on a "Buy One, Get One Free" (****) promotion. She informed me that the price per wiper was approximately $27, and after confirming that I would receive one wiper free, I decided to add them to my service. When it came time to pay, the attendant initially quoted me over $200, then corrected herself, stating my total was actually $179.30. Upon reviewing my receipt, I noticed I was not given the **** deal on the windshield wipers and had been charged $27.99 twice. I brought this to the manager, ********, who confirmed that the **** discount had not been applied. When I requested a refund for the overcharge, ******** informed me that the "refund system was down" and that he would need to contact someone to address the issue within 35 business days. This situation is extremely unprofessional, and I am requesting a refund of $27.99 as soon as possible.Location of the incident:Take 5 Oil Change (#****)************************************

On October 14, 2024, I had an oil change performed at Take 5 Oil Change (see attachment "take_5_receipt_1.jpg"). However, the technicians failed to drain the old oil and instead added new oil directly into my vehicle, resulting in the engine being overfilled with twice the proper amount of oil. Shortly after leaving the store, the engine failed. I requested a paper proof of the issue from Take 5 Oil Change (see attachment "take_5_receipt_2.jpg").Take 5 Oil Change subsequently arranged for my car to be towed to a ***** dealership for an inspection. The dealership confirmed that the engine failure was caused by the overfilled oil. The ***** dealer performed another oil change, which appeared to resolve the issue temporarily (see attachment "inspection_result.jpg"). However, after driving just a few miles, the exhaust began emitting white smoke. When I returned to the ***** dealer, they informed me that diagnosing the engine issue would require a teardown inspection. I was provided with a cost estimate for this inspection (see attachment "quote.jpg").Following this serious incident, my case was referred to Take 5 Oil Change's claims department. Despite providing all the relevant documents, including receipts and inspection reports, the claims department denied any wrongdoing and refused to cover any of my losses, including the cost of their oil change and the services performed by the ***** dealer. They also delayed resolving the issue, leaving me without a functioning vehicle.Ultimately, I was forced to sell my car at a significantly reduced price due to the damage caused. This incident has resulted in substantial financial loss for me.

On December 14th, 2024, I visited a Take 5 on *********** in ******* ***** to get the oil changed in my 2022 Silverado 1500 with ****** miles on it. When I got to the facility it was extremely busy and I waited in line for an oil change. They were friendly and felt like things went good. On January 2nd, 2025, I was driving around and noticed my truck was acting funny and started shaking. My "add engine oil" light came on. I was near a Midas and took it straight to them to learn that there was NO Oil on my dipstick. Midas put my truck on the lift and verified no oil was leaking and that the filter and drain plug were functioning properly. Midas then proceeded to add 3 quarts of oil and stated that there was no way 8 quarts of oil was put in my truck during the oil change. I drove the truck immediately to my house, where I had it towed to the nearest ********* dealership. It was there they advised me that my truck would need a new engine, catalytic Converter, new oil lines, and radiator. This is to the tune of $20,000. ***** services has recommended Take 5 to take the liability of the truck, but they are now telling me that Take 5 has up to 30 days to check off on this! Are you kidding me? Something needs to be done about take 5 and all the claims they have going on. ***** services informed me that Take 5 is backed up and that is why they are taking so long. On 12/04/2024 I went to Take 5 Oil Change located at ******************************************. Upon pulling into the service bay their garage door closed down on the center of the roof of my vehicle. This resulted in a significant crease across the width of the roof of my vehicle. When I inquired to file an accident report I was referred to the corporate website. When I went to the Take 5 Oil Change website there was a customer service phone number and email address listed When I attempted to call the phone number and follow the prompts I either got immediately disconnected or put on hold and no one ever answers. I also left an email. Never received a reply. I also attempted to call the phone number given to me by BBB in ******************* Take 5 Oil Change and there is a recorded message that they cannot connect. I ended up filing a claim with my insurance State Farm. The claim was for $2,384.00 to have the roof of my car repaired. They said they will attempt to be reimbursed by Take 5 Oil Change for this claim. I did not have rental car coverage included in my policy. I had to rent a car for ****************** $296.01 which I paid. I want to be reimbursed for the $296.01 for the car I had to rent due to the negligence of Take 5 Oil Change resulting in the damage to my vehicle.

I called the number today and was placed on hold for over 5 minutes. My time is important and I demand a prompt payment for my out of pocket expense due to the negligence of Take Five.

      Thank you,

Date of service-12/19/2024 Above is the original date.Receipt#******. Amount:$102.90 Type of service: Oil and filter change. After oil change returned home, that evening noticed car was leaking oil. Went back to Take 5 with complaint, they went under vehicle stated they saw leak, said they fixed it. I returned home.I removed car from driveway and placed on street. Returned to Take 5 Oil Change on 01/03/2025. I stated car was still leaking , this complaint generated receipt #******. The Tech stated leak fixed. I returned home, placed car on curb next morning noticed car still leaking. Bottom line I have given Take 5 many chances to fix this leak problem, they seem to not know how. I am going to have to take this vehicle elsewhere which will be costly. I need them to shoulder the cost to repair this oil leak.
