on august 17, 2024 I had an oil change and the air filter replaced on my work car! On Monday when i stared me car the check engine light came. On Thursday i went to auto zone to have the free diagnostic , it said was a faulty air flow censor! I replaced the censor and it did not fix it! The car was running very poorly. I did not drive it all weekend ! On Tuesday on my way to work on the busy interstate, at 430 am the car began to stall out. I got off highway and took it to repair shop. Missing a days work and sitting there till 200 pm.THE AIR FILTER WAS JUST THROWN IN AN NOT REPLACED PROPERLY . THE SERVICE CENTER GAVE ME A VIDEO AND PICTURES OF THE IMPROPER FILTER REPLACEMENT. THE SERVICE CENTER REPLACED THE AIR FILTER AND INSTALLED IT PROPERLY. I CONTACTED TAKE 5 AND LEFT SEVERAL MESSAGES AND NO ONE REPLIED TO ME. I finally got threw to complaint line after days of trying. they turned it over to a third party claim company and NOW I CANNOT GET ANYWHERE WITH THEM! THAT WAS THE WORST SERVICE I EVER HAD ON A CAR. No one from take 5 has even called me back!!!!!!!!!!I am out $100 oil change, $247 CAR REPAIR because of poor installation and a days pay. NO TO MENTION MY SAFETY ON A HIGHWAY AT 430 AM. On June 28th 2024 i went to the store location on ***************************************** i gotten an oil change and a coolant replace but once the service was done they didnt put back on my splash guard correctly which resulted in being dragged across town and breaking apart. Later that evening around 6pm i went back to same location they told me they were going to file a report to fleet management i haven't gotten a word each week i go back and its the same story they take down my information and say there going to send me a copy of the request they were sending i even spoke with an District Manger and i still haven't gotten a word its already September and still no word i was told by there employee and management that they have a policy to replace if it was damage which they did take my splash guard off my car and haven't replaced it at allBusiness Response

I went to take 5 to get an oil change. My car came in perfectly fine as soon as I leave my engine started to knock. I need a whole new engine now. I paid $130 dollars for them to mess up my engine. They didnt take any liability they actually left me on the side of the road for 4 hours just to say they cant help me they can just give me a refund. Ok whatever that was on the 28th of August. I still have not received a call a refund or anything. Anytime I try and call I get attitudes and they just say its corporate.Business Response

I had my oil changed on 09/14 at a take 5 oil change in **************** off of powers ferry road and the next day my car started leaking oil and started smoking and I have a crack in my engine. Employee **** at the **************** Take 5 molinethreatened me because their POS system was down. On June 26th 2024 I visited Take 5 (store #****). I paid $103 for an oil change that included extra oil. It wasnt until August that I discovered I had been riding with no oil, and my engine light and oil light came on. As soon as these lights came on my car started to jerk, so I took it to the nearest place which happened to be another Take 5 (store #****). This is where the told me I had no oil/leaks at all, and whoever ever previously changed it didnt put any oil at all. This Take 5 (#****) then charged me $95.75 to add more oil into the car. Approximately 10 minutes after leaving Take 5 my car shut off and refused to start again. My car is still inoperable, and after talking and seeing 3 mechanics they determined my engine failed due to lack of oil. I am still currently without a vehicle and do not have the funds to repair it, as engines are ranging from $3,000-$4,000 + labor.Business Response

My wife, visited and had her 2015 *** **** *** changed from one of your facilities at the TAKE 5 #**** ********************************************************************************** On Tuesday, September 10, 2024 before our weekend trip down to the *******, ******* area. Yesterday, I discovered motor *** where my wifes *** was parked, on the garage floor. Her car never had leaked *** or any fluids before her service at Take 5. Being more knowledgeable about cars than her, I alerted her the car was leaking *** and the possible consequences if this was not addressed. She returned to Take 5 where they lied and said it was leaking already, a slight leak, and not to worry about it. They then decided to clean off the plastic cover. When she came home I snapped photos which show it was leaking in a localized spot on the *** pan on the drain bolt. I have the photos of the residue which leaked o. The plastic cover. I hope for your organizations sake the bolt was only loose and the *** pans threads were not stripped compromising the *** pan. I am very disappointed but not surprised that this has happened. I am writing for my records in case of further damage to the *** and if I decide to follow up with a suit.Business Response

Yesterday, 9/10, I took my vehicle to the Take 5 Oil Change location at ***************************************. The experience was, by far, the worst that I have ever encountered at an oil change facility. Not only was the process very long, but once my car was in, they stated that the only oil they had would be over $100 for an old PT Cruiser. That is outrageous. I requested the lower high mileage service of $87 (expecting to use my Military coupon since I am a Disabled Veteran) but they told me that they didn't have that oil and would have to do the higher one. Then, when I tried to use my Military coupon (25% off), they kept telling me that it wouldn't scan. I requested for it to be entered manually, but the employee would not do it. I also heard the workers telling the guy next to me that they were "out of his oil type and that he would be charged over $100" as well. These are shady business practices; whereby, they are price-gauging EVERY single person that drives in. They are giving the customers no choice but to pay for a higher priced service. Also, if you check their ****** reviews, they have damaged and potentially damaged several cars/engines by not closing or tightening the oil caps after completing the work.Business Response

Tuesday, September 11, 2024 I drove into ******** Take 5 Oil Exchange at *************************** for a premium oil change. I left assuming all work was completed. When I arrived at work in ********** (abt 30 mile drive) I realized my panel cover underneath my car that protects rocks from flying up, etc was not properly put me on after my oil change and was hanging off low to ground on both the ****************** side (damaged it from the road) and cracked my lower fender panel on passenger side because of it dragging. I opened my hood then to reverify the work on oil change and found that not only was my windshield ****************** not topped off but the lid to my antifreeze container was left open and antifreeze sprayed all over my engine. Of course, putting my car, engine in extreme jeopardy due to being empty in the reservoir. So I not only paid $92.70 and on top of that I tipped both ***** and ***** $5 eachIm out$102.70 but I now need to pay to have my engine compartment cleaned. I work 2nd shift and wasnt able to get back to Take 5 Oil until 7:30am this morning and requested a full refund. The manager on duty TA said there was nothing he could do by refunding me my money because it was a different transaction day. Again, I explained I work out of town and on 2nd shift; he told me to take my complaint to the corporate office. Im furious and feel very taking advantage of and paid for a job that wasnt completed properly and now has caused me more more money and valuable time; both of which I dont have much of.Business Response

Hello, Im responding to my email in regards to the complaint I filed with BBB last week involving Take 5 Oil at **********************************************
I took my vehicle into Dubers Auto to have the owner, mechanic (**** *****) look over it. As I stated in my original complaint and included pictures of; Take 5 Oil, did NOT fill my antifreeze BUT opened lidcausing my original antifreeze I had in there to splash out all over my engine compartment. I drive approximately 35 miles from ******* into ********** for work. It was checked by mechanic on Wednesday morning and thats when I found out about the terrible job Take 5 Oil did. Along with not bolting up my front engine splash shield and it dragged the entire journey and tore my wheel well.
The mechanic today told me that in a few weeks, possibly even 6 months down the line; due to running my car without coolant there will be underlying problems. Its possible it damaged my head gaskets and or water pump. All due to the recklessness of the technician at Take 5 Oil. Todays visit with *********** set me back addition money to have them take my car apart and check underneath it! Im attaching pictures to show just how far back the antifreeze sprayed.
I absolutely am NOT satisfied and DO NOT want my case closed. Due to the shoddy, unprofessional job from Take 5 Oil Im even more in the hole now.
