On 11/08/2023 at noon I came in to *33383339393531313431* on ************* in ******* for an oil *31393130383631373932* and an inspection on my car. A worker by the name of ********************* *31393130383631373932*d my oil and he checked my air filter and insisted I get a new one so he also *31393130383631373932*d my air filter out. The inspection that he did states my car had no issues my check engine light has never been on. I always keep up with my oil *31393130383631373932*s, nothing has ever been wrong with my car the whole year I had it. When leaving *34313434353438383033* I went home down the street and around 4pm I drove to ********** to get my daughter from school. Getting close to her school I noticed my air wasnt blowing cool as it usual does. When I pulled up to her school I noticed my car was smoking. I then looked at my dash and it was on the * indicating that the car was running hot. I got out my car and seen blue and green liquid coming out the car. I opened the hood and seen the liquid bubbling. I called *34313434353438383033* explained the situation and they sent Chis out to look at the car. While looking at the car he admitted that he didnt s**** the cap on all the way because he was distracted, so air got in and that is why my car was over heating. After an hour of trying to fix the issue he stated that air bubbles were in the pipe. Another hour pass and he says my issue is because my fan stopped working. I asked him wouldnt that show on the diagnostic test he said yes it wouldve but just so happen it stopped working when I left earlier. *e is now saying he did nothing wrong and it was due to a faulty fan but before I went in for my oil *31393130383631373932* today everything was fine with my car, I even got the inspection that he did himself to prove it. Also audio of him admitting his mistake of not making sure the cap was tightened all the way. *e is disowning what he has done to my car. My uncle tried to talk to him and figure out what happened with my car and he hung up in my uncles face. Please help me.Business Response

Per the Dm - The events leading up to the issue are correct. The shop manager drove out to the customer and inspected vehicle. We could not determine what was wrong with it, as the oil level was correct, and the coolant level was correct. The coolant cap was found to be secure and not loose as stated. The issue was determined to be a failed cooling fan, as nothing performed during the service would cause that issue. We advised her to get a diagnostic on the vehicle, as we could not determine what was wrong based on the services we performed.Initial Complaint

Came in for oil change and they stripped my oil plugged and blamed it on the last place I had an oil change 7 months earlier. Said I had an oil leak from a stripped oil plug. Since I trusted their advice i thought it was a small oil leak. I parked my car and 1/2hr latter there was 1/2 a quart of oil under my car. They are not taking any responsibility for this.Business Response

The car came in for an oil change and the plug was leaking on arrival. They were going to continue with oil change until drain plug could not be removed due to plug just spinning. Car left in the same condition it came in. Please see notes on invoice.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:If I had an oil leak it never showed on my driveway. I left Take 5 Oil Change with a massive oil leak that I had to take care immediately. I took my car over to where I had my last oil change 6 months earlier and they called Take 5 and asked why they let the me leave with such a big oil leak they were very upset on my behalf and when asked there was no reply. Valvoline can provide a DVD of my previous oil change, I had to take my Jeep to my mechanic and lost 3 days of work and it cost me $1,100. I did not under any circumstances drive my Jeep for 6 months with this type of oil leak. This is a weak excuse, and it was very unprofessional to let me leave with such a leak and to say I had this for 6 months. Like said previously I had to take this to my mechanic due to the amount of oil that was leaking. When I left Take 5 Oil Changed, they made it sound like it was *********'s mistake and I believed them at the time. When I left Take 5 I stopped at a grocery store and was in the store for 20 minutes, when I returned to my Jeep, I saw at least 1/2 quart of oil under the vehicle. That is when I knew I had an emergency. I would Like to hear Take 5 Explanation on how my oil leak that they claim I had when I came in is the same oil leak i had when I left.

On October 27th 2023 at 2:56 p.m. I took my vehicle to take five oil change store #**** at **********************************************************************************. I took the car because a service coolant light came on and I had a road trip to make the next day. I went in there for them to check my fluid levels and was told I needed a whole coolant exchange flush I was also told by the manager that my thermostat was bad and I should go to AutoZone purchase one come back he would put it on. After the service was completed I got a receipt for the actual coolant exchange flush but was asked to pay cash for him installing the thermostat. The very next day on my road trip my engine light kept coming on showing me the car was hot. I did get back into town safely but exactly one week later my car stopped at a store and when I cut the car off the whole car started smoking. I had to have my car towed to ******************* because no one else carried the part to fix this and was told by the mechanic at ******* that I should have never been asked to pay cash for him to fix the thermostat and that they're not even certified to do so. I also contacted the business sent them videos of my car overheating the manager who actually put the thermostat on and suggested that to me never returned my call so I called again the next day and spoke to another manager who again never returned my call. I'm not getting any response from any management and this is completely unacceptable for business. I also have the video of the car smoking that I sent to ******* the manager who then sent me his messenger info because the file was too large to be sent through text and it's also too large to be uploaded currently onto this platform as well as reciept but can provide both or I would have added that as evidence as well. And as you can see in that message it was almost an hour later before I responded NOT HIM I have to contact you tomorrow. No response or sense of urgency whatsoever from management that I spoke to on either 2 daysBusiness Response

I had an oil change along with my filters changed and found out my car literally had no oil put back in it. We called the location that serviced my vehicle to make them aware and was told they see them putting oil in my car on camera but cannot verify exactly how much. We took it to a mechanic and it literally had NO oil in it and it has an engine rattle now and continues to turn off. It was suggested to replace my entire engine due to the type of engine and delicate nature of it. Id like a dealership to perform any and all needed repairs on my vehicle as well as the cost of a rental. Im very disappointed in the outcome of this transaction and the strain and inconvenience this is causing me as a single mom with multiple jobsBusiness Response

9/10 - Received an oil change. Then noticed a leak. Went back a week later and they noticed it and told me to go get it looked at. Filed a complaint with Corporate and it took until 10/20 for them to get back to me. They said do not have it fixed, do not change the fluid. I had to call them after no response 10/31 when everything busted and all the oil leaked out. At which time the manager came out and took a look. He offered to fix it personally but not with the company. At the apartment complex. I had to tow it somewhere else for repairs. Now, they are saying it was not their fault that the cap was broken and leaking. Which it was not. And if it was, you didn't mention it? You just put a leaky cap back on?Business Response

Monday, June 26th 6:38pm Received an oil change on 2018 ***** Civic EX-T at Take 5 ****** Shop *********************************** Wednesday, June 28th 6:30pm Lights turned on in the car related to variable valve timing and EMS system. Thursday, June 29 7:15am Brought car to ********************* to get examined. They could not determine something wrong until they ran a diagnostics scan costing $465. They suspected a wire was chewed or a sensor was loose, as the code displayed on the screen is not directly related to an oil change.Friday June 30 4:43pm They determined nothing was wrong within the inside wiring of the car. A technician confirmed that the oil filter that was placed in the car was the wrong size, and that it must have happened from a previous oil change. This caused issues with the Variable Valve Timing. A part must be replaced, and a new oil change and filter must be installed which costs $93 and $73. The car was not fixed until Monday, July 3rd. Friday, June 30 4:49pm I called Take 5 and spoke to the manager, *********************************. I explained the situation to him, but he immediately told me that there is nothing that they can do because I brought my car to the ********************* dealership first. He said that this policy is in their terms and conditions: however, the receipt that I received had no detailed terms and conditions regarding this procedure. He also told me that ***** is lying to me about the issues with my car. He said that he believes my receipt is blank because their printer often runs out of ink. He said he is the highest person that I can speak to at Take 5, and that any complaint with customer service will be redirected to him. I then asked him if I could at least have a refund for the previous oil change ($104), and he said that all he can do is give me a free oil change. Take 5 has not responded to a single email since, after telling me to forward documentation for review. I am requesting contact, and an investigation of the damage done to my carBusiness Response

On August 28, 2023, I proactively had my oil changed at Take 5 Oil Change before a month long trip overseas. Cost was $109.88. When I returned in October I noticed a lot of oil droplets leaking from the front area of the engine. I took my vehicle back to Take 5 on October 19, 2023 and the manager insisted that I had a rear main seal leak. I asked again to check around the filter but he insisted it was old oil. A technician snuggled down the oil filter housing and topped off the oil. I then had to wait a week to get an appointment with my Independent BMW mechanic. He stated that the oil seal was not installed with the new filter. Replacing filter, troubleshooting and clean up cost $321.43. I went back to the same manager on October 25, 2023 and he took a photo of my receipts. Told me he would get back with me but as of November 3, 2023 have not heard back. Just left another message. I have driven approximately 400 miles and had lost 1 quart of oil. My goal is to be reimbursed for the $321.43 charge I had to pay to remedy their work. Thank you, *******Business Response

Since the purchase of my 2018 **** F150 3.0 Diesel in June of 2022 have exclusively gotten my oil changed at Take 5 located at *********************************************************************************. Approximately on August of 2023 I received an oil change and suboagyer that I received a low pressure indicator light. I immediately returned back to the shop and the technician worked to resolve the issue. Once we believed it was correct left the shop. About a week later the problem of low oil pressure presented again. This time we could not resolve the issue. Thinking it was something else unrelated I took it to two other shops and determined it could be the oil pressure sender unit. I replaced it and that did not resolve the issue. Fast forward to October I took my truck in for an oil change at a different Take 5 location and the technician notified me that the original Take 5 had been using the wrong oil for a year in ************* truck calls for diesel engine oil and the Take 5 located at ********************************************************************************* had been putting the wrong oil since my first oil change around August of 2022. I went back to the original take 5 and told the manager and he researched and confirmed the error on their end. He subsequently put in a claim 2 weeks ago and I have not heard anything. This morning as I was driving on the road the engine seized up and I had to pull into a parking lot. I am being towed to the nearest dealership and await a further diagnosis of what is going on. I have not heard from the District Manager. I am awaiting a rental car and I have all documents to include recording the issue.Business Response

In early October, I took my vehicle to get an oil change. An employee at this location came to tell me it would be a 15 minute wait popped my hood and took a look under. After waiting almost 30 minutes, I decided I needed to move on, as I still had 2 to 3 vehicles ahead of me. I did not see any employee near me so I backed out and drove away. Less than one minute, after driving away, the hood of my vehicle flew blinding me and almost causing me to crash. I had to pull over and after much difficulty I was able to close my hood. I drove over to the other location to get my oil changed and show them the damage. They informed me this is a big no-no to their company and they get trained thoroughly to leave the hood unlocked so this does not happen. Apologize profusely and let me know they would send this information to the district. After not hearing from the district manager, I filed a complaint myself. The corporate office took my complaint and let me know the district manager would be in touch with me. Over two weeks went by until I finally heard from this district manager. I would call multiple times a day to the corporate number to ensure they did send it over, and they told me every single time he will be calling you. Two weeks later, when I spoke to this district manager, he told me they are not at fault since I did not get service from this location. This is completely their fault. Hoods of vehicles do not have the same system as trunks letting me know its open I did not open the hood of my vehicle to look inside, the employee at the location did. Since I had 3+ car is ahead of me. I assumed he would close it since it would have been a long time until he needs to get back under there. On top of all of this, my child was with me and I was on the phone with my friend so we all heard the location says this goes against their policy that they are not allowed to leave their hoods open due to this happening. All I want is for them to fix my vehicle.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
They came to this conclusion WITHOUT CONTACTING ME. I have endlessly tried to get a hold of their third-party. I have made several phone calls and left several voicemails, yet NO ONE has EVER contacted me.This is pretty simple, their employee opened my hood, and their employee left it open with 3 cars ahead of me. Their employee told me only 15 mins until it was my turn. I waited over that time!
Finally, how can this third party come to the conclusion when THEY NEVER CONTACTED ME!!!Business Response

On September 20 2023 I came to take 5 to have my oil changed on my new car. The rep did what he does and proceeded to take care of that for me. During my visit the rep told me what oil my car needs and did the oil change. After about two weeks my oil light comes on again. I go back to take 5 and show the rep my receipt and told him the issue. I know there werent any leaks after having my mechanic look at the car. And I told the rep that very same thing. He then said well you have a big engine maybe you didnt get the correct amount of oil in the car the first time. He then adds more oil about 3 quarts. I thought he was versed in the issue being that he is the professional. So I went with it and left. Not even two weeks later this time my check engine light along with my oil light comes on. The car begins to make a rumble noise sometimes so I decided to stop by my mechanic and get more oil from him. I told him what oil take 5 put in so that I wouldnt be mixing different oil and he looked it up and says that oil is probably to thin for your car and that the list he was looking at doesnt mention that oil the take 5 rep used. So I take the car back up to Take 5 and explain the issue. Only this time there was a new rep who was very flippant and lied to me about how he needed to handle the situation as well as lied about who he was and what his name was. I asked for the manager and the rep said he was the manager, then I asked later what his name was and said ******* was his name. After not getting help I made for yet another oil change within a 1 month timeframe. When I was leaving I asked to get the phone number to the manager since I was lied to in the first place and the rep said the managers name is *******. I said to him I thought you said you were *******. He just stared at me and wouldnt give me any more information about speaking to anyone about my experience. Have tried numerous times to call and speak to the manager and Im still waiting for a call back.Business Response
