I didn't signed for their monthly membership. I went for a single wash. I just noticed my credit card had been charged for October 2024, November 2024, December 2024, January 2025 for $23.40. This membership should be terminated and I want my money back.Business Response

Sales manager sold me 1 month unlimited car washes "to try for 1 month". Never told me that it would be a continuous charge every month that would have to be cancelled. After the first unauthorized charge, I soke to manager in person who gave me a number to call. Left message, no one returned my call. After second unauthorized charge, employee gave me email address to request refund and cancelled further charges (which manager never indicated could be done at the car wash and instead directed me to a phone number to cancel and refund), Sent email to request refund, but never received a replyBusiness Response

Take 5 car wash in *********, **** signed me up for a membership without my express consent when I visited this location in October 2024, at which time I purchased a single car wash. The attendant took my card to help me swipe it and somehow signed me up for a membership to which I did not agree. Since then this company charged my credit card $17.00 per month. I have not returned to this car wash since then (why would I sign up for a membership and then not return?) and had no clue that I was being charged a monthly fee. I received nothing to show that I signed up for a membership--no membership card, no email (I check my spam mailbox regularly), and no text messages. I noticed the charge yesterday, 1/21/2025, on a bank statement, and called the location's customer service line. I spoke to a representative and stated that I had not signed up for any membership and demanded a refund (4 months x $17.00). I was told that my complaint would receive prompt attention but 24 hours passed and no one from the company reached out to me. I called a second time after 24 hours passed and again their representative told me that my complaint was "elevated". I did not receive any communication from the company today, 1/22/25. In sum, I was defrauded by this company and I intend to report them to the *************************************** and the *******'s office for using my credit card--repeatedly--without my permission. I demand that Take 5 refund me $68.00 as soon as possible and cancel whatever fraudulent membership they wrongly claim I agreed to during my visit last October.Business Response

I signed up for a monthly car wash subscription and agreed to pay for the $26.99 tier. Take 5 has faithfully billed me the agreed rate since June 2023 on the 28th of each month. This is what I agreed to, and I have no complaint about this. Beginning in August of 2023, I've recently discovered, Take 5 began billing me this same amount on the 11th of each month. So, for about 1.5 years, I've been double-billed--once on the 11th and again on the 28th. This totals about $486 in over payments. I've filled out Take 5'ss web form and called their customer service lines explaining the foregoing. I've received no response in more than two weeks of waiting. I'd simply like a refund of the overbilled amount and a commitment to stop double-billing me.Business Response

Signed up for a monthly $16 unlimited car wash membership, which started in July 2024 as detailed on the receipt received from the business. Each time we got our car washed since this membership started, we used our membership via the sticker that was provided for our car. However, in reviewing the credit card statements dating from July 2024 through December 2024, the card on file was charged $16 twice each month, resulting in $32 of charges each month as opposed to the $16 per month charge that the membership outlines. Furthermore, once I noticed these double charges, I proceeded to submit a request to cancel my membership on January 11, 2025. I received an email saying that they have received my request to cancel the membership but come to find a charge on my credit card for this month's membership on January 15, 2025, four days after I had submitted a request to cancel. I also sent them an email on January 11th, ***************************************************************************** confirmation that they received my email. I am requesting a refund of $112 to cover the double charges from July through December (6 months x $16 extra charge = $96 + $16 for the month where I requested my membership be canceled = $112 total) plus the additional month of charges after I submitted a cancellation request for my membership. Thank you.Business Response

This company has charged me 2 times each month starting Sept 2023 up thru Jan 2025. The current company Take 5 car wash took over this car wash business from the previous owner around the same time the double charges started. I did agree to 1 charge monthly of *****. They have my card # and account to see they charged me 2 times a month in error but refuse to give me the money back without a copy of my bank statement. I do not feel comfortable providing this information to this company. I should not be required to send any bank info thru email due to the risk of fraud. Over charged for 17 months at ***** for a total amount of ******. They do not need my bank statement when I already gave the 4 of the digits they asked for on the card. They can see the chargesBusiness Response

I am on the monthly billing plan. I was charged twice in November. I visited the car wash noted and described the problem with the attendant. He got into his computer and agreed that I was overcharged. He made a change and said I would not be charged in December. I was charged again in December. I went back to the car wash and complained and the attendant said his hands were tied and it was out of his control. He had me fill out a form and said someone would contact me. That never happened. I filled out the same form at my initial visit as well and same result, nothing. I visited the Take 5 Car Wash site and filled out the form for contacting them and stated I had a billing problem. Never got a response. Got on the website again and filled the form out again and got nothing. Finally I searched and found a corporate number for customer service and called. The representative answered and asked if the call was for oil change or car wash, which I answered it was for car wash. She connected me to car wash and it was a recording telling me to get on the website and send an email. Seriously? I'm not going to do what I have already done several times with zero results. **************** for this company is a joke. I stress about this every day ever since it happened in November. It's not a huge amount of money but the fact that it is impossible to resolve a billing dispute with this company is unacceptable. Please help me so I can sleep at night. Thank You.Business Response

I am writing to address a serious issue of fraud involving my account at the ******************** location in ********, ******** March of last year, I visited the ******** location at ******************************, where the manager asked if I wanted to sign up for a membership when I pulled up. I explicitly declined. However, in January of this year, my wife noticed recurring charges of $26 per month on my account dating back to March. This prompted me to return to the location to investigate. The current manager reviewed my account and confirmed that the information associated with my "membership" was completely inaccurate and fraudulent. She informed me that the manager responsible for this has since been terminated due to similar misconduct. Furthermore, it was discovered that my RFID number, which I never received, has been actively used by someone ******* is clear that I was fraudulently signed up for a membership without my consent. The current manager agreed that I never authorized this account, and I have made multiple attempts to contact customer service, only to receive no response. The head manager was also supposed to call me but has failed to do so.This is a serious matter of fraud. I am requesting:A full refund of all charges made to my account since March ************ confirmation that my account has been canceled and will not incur any further charges. If this issue is not resolved promptly, I will have no choice but to pursue further action to address this matter. Please respond. I am hopeful we can resolve this amicably.Business Response

Your Monthly Unlimited Membership 73247+375126 has been deactivated and your credit card will no longer be charged for renewal. The refund limit is 6 months renewal as we expect customers to notify us of billing issues within a reasonable amount of time. As such, a refund of $156.00 has been processed to your credit card. Please allow 3-5 business days for your refund to show up on your account.
I am sorry to hear that you suspect there may be fraudulent use on your card. For that situation you will need to contact your bank for any additional refunds.
All the best,
Customer Answer
Date: 01/23/2025
I am rejecting this response because:One of the employees told me that the manager was fired for doing this. You may expect 6 months but the customer expects to never get scammed. The tag that was under my card was being used after the manager gave or sold it. My email was fraudulent in the system. I never received an email with an invoice because the manger that scammed me made up an email. After a couple ofweeks of trying to get a hold of someone at customer service I had to go to the store. At that time is when the employee changed my email so I could get notifications. You know I was scammed but still not wanting to pay in full. I have reported to my bank. You cant steal for someone and say well we will only give back some of the money because it took to long to catch us stealing.

I signed up for the car wash membership in the spring and used it regularly. Lately I've experienced a loss of income and I have tried on multiple occasions to cancel my membership. I have sent at least 3 emails, filled out their online form twice and tried to call multiple times with no avail. I am still being charged for the membership that I have canceled more than 8 times now.Business Response

I have cancelled the membership and refunded the last payment of $20.00. She reached out on December 31st and the pass was used 2x after that so I refunded the payment from 1/12/25Customer Answer

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my complaint, while the response seemed rude and condescending, since December's monthly membership payment was paid through January 11th therefore I was entitled to still use the car wash, I am satisfied with the refund and cancelation of the membership.
Thank you.
