Ordered a custom, outswing, fiberglass Jeldwen French door from Lowes. The first door was the wrong door when delivered. The second door was the ************, however after installation, the doors do NOT line up when closed! The Functioningdoor is at least 1/4 inch sticking out from the fixed door. The installation people said that is common with Jeldwen, great to know after installed. The door does not close solidly, they claim they cant fix it but will order me another one, which will take another 4 monthsJeldwens quality has gone way down.JELD-WEN

1 starI had a sliding glass door replaced with a Jeld Wen. It was delivered as 1 complete unit. After it was installed, the door could barely be open. You had to be a 6' 220lbs man to open it. My wife, 97 pounds could not open the door. They refused to replace the unit and are supposedly going to "fix it" in the next 2 to 4 weeks, earliest they can get there. I asked about quality assurance check and he assured me that all their products go thru a rigorous quality check. I said really, how it it you cannot open the &(*^( DOOR!!! Some quality assurance check. The foot bolt door lock has 2 holes where the bolts go thru, except the are 12 inches away from where they should be. I know ***** and ******** are more expensive, do yourself a favor and go with one of those. This is garbage.Review fromArin K

HORRIBLE COMPANY!! Based on the other reviews on this page, looks like everyone agrees they're a horrible company. I purchased a French Door for a local retailer, which is where my next review is going to be posted, for $2500. Upon installing the door on Dec 5th, we realized that one of the doors was the wrong one. There are stickers on the windows which state, which side should be towards the outside for UV protection. I contacted the dealer and he said i'll have to work with ABS directly, and their salesman '*****'. ***** told us that he's going out of town for the year, and will work to get this resolved by mid-month. As it was getting closer to his time to leave for a vacation, he offered me $100 to accept as is, as they 'stand by' their doors and those stickers don't really mean anything. I told him I'll only accept his offer if he can provide a technical drawing to prove what he's saying his true. Obviously after that request, he went silent. I periodically texted and called him to no response. It finally got to the point on January 20, i texted him that I've waiting over 6 weeks and i still haven't heard ANYTHING, not even an offer to replace the door. I'll go ahead and paint the door as is, as how long can i live with a door looing like this, but i told him I'd make sure to get the word out. And to no surprised he didn't reply until Monday the 23rd, letting me know he is willing to replace the door and they 'stand by their doors.' I replied that I painted the door over the weekend, and how can they 'stand by their doors' when they have ZERO technical knowledge of their doors. They are just resellers that can only answer dimensional questions. He wouldn't be able to take back my door as it's painted, not taking ANY blame for not responding for 6 weeks!!!! DO NOT PURCHASE THEIR DOORS!!! Notice in the photo, the door on the left has the sticker on the inside.JELD-WEN

Poor customer service and shoddy made product. I had a custom order door that leaked water in the sidelite at the bottom, around the entire sidelite frame, and through the sidelite glass trim. I caulked the bottom and frame so they said it was fixed. The trim around the glass was "not rated for a hose" even though I never said at what setting I sprayed the trim. So apparently if you put caulk where there should not be caulk, detracting from door, it's okay. Even if it's your dime to repair and paint. Would not recommend a Jeld-Wen door to anyone.JELD-WEN

I installed 7 new windows when I put new siding on my house last year. 2 are ******** windows and 5 are jeldwen windows. The ******** windows are air tight. The jeldwen windows are double hung windows, and are very drafty. I live in the northern US, so it gets very cold here. These windows are cheaply built. Do not buy these windows. Spend a little more money on another brand. It will save you money in the long run.JELD-WEN

1 starWarranty work did not fix air leaks and with Covid I was advised beyond warranty and too bad so sad more or less. purchased triple ***** sliding patio door at a premium price. Service man was 10 hrs away and only came when enough products needed service. I waited a long time for first service call. If he showed earlier warranty would have still been valid for shabby workmanship on repair. Hard to find quality products backed by service. Advertising sounds good. If I could give lower than a 1 I would. The sliding glass door blinds broke one month after the full warranty expired. It will be tough to find the language that the oboe part of warranty falls off after 2 years. Basically buy expensive doors that break in 25 months. We should have realized that would be a disaster when the accompanying screen door took 5 months to be finally installed correctly by a JeldWen ************************* ****.JELD-WEN

We installed new, supposedly upgraded, Jeld-Wen windows in the new house (within the last year) built for my mother in law. The house is built on a cement slab with in-floor boiler heat. The windows leak air horribly. I contacted the company and got the generic answer of "condensation is not covered". I'm not so concerned about a little condensation but when the cold air blows through them so bad that 1/4 inch of ice builds up on the inside, I think there is an issue. I've tried to contact their customer service several times, sent photos and videos of the wind blowing a tissue next to the locked window with no result. It's frustrating that we listened to our builder and went with these windows when we wanted another brand. Unfortunately, the builder is just as frustrated with Jeld-Wen and has went to another brand(the one we originally wanted)To add insult to injury, the screens don't even fit and fall out at the slightest touch. The Jeld-Wen representative came out twice. He agreed the screens weren't the correct size. There were supposedly ordered. It's been over six months and we have no screens.I'll continue to pursue this as I think the product and service is absolutely horrible and I feel bad for my 81 yr old mother in law who spent her lifes saving building her home. I wish I could give lower rating! We used these windows for our new build and have been waiting for the last window for 9 months!!! Theyve told us it has shipped 3x and no one wants to take responsibility for it, not the store/corporate or the company itself. We mentioned that we were going to get a lawyer and they told us since ***** said that word we can no longer do anything for you. There has now been damage to my home and the move in date has been pushed back so many times.I will never recommend this company or any product ever made by them!JELD-WEN
