A terrible company. You can set up automatic payments and they will cancel them without notice, then proceed to turn off your power and charge you reconnection fees.Or they'll delete your account preventing you from paying your bill.Or they double your rates without notice. This is one of the absolute worst companies on the planet and they will do their utmost to ensure you pay more than what your supposed to.

Duke energy progress is an area monopoly taking advantage of lower income houses by not forgiving leaky mobile homes landlords neglect. Tenants in this situation are paying $250 on BUDGET BILLING EACH MONTH in order to stay warm during winter months. Continued rate increases are making living more than difficult for a small family just trying to make it paycheck to paycheck. I'm so disappointed with the lack of humanity these businesses practice under.

Duke energy has increased our bill every single month and continues to add on new line items for fees, taxes and stuff. They have not educated their staff on how to explain these changes. They are abusing their monopoly status and charging consumers for their environmental violations. While the *** ************** salary went up from 16 million to 21 million. Absolutely abhorrent behavior.

Duke Energy has become extremely expensive and is now charging more fees. My power bill and multiple others in my community have been $300+ and $400+ despite using less wattage than the previous year. I have elderly associates that are having to choose between paying for insurance or their power bill which is ridiculous. Something needs to be done to regulate this service.

I have been a loyal customer for years, and it has come to my attention that Duke Energy has engaged in a pattern of deceptive practices that disproportionately impact low-income areas.Lack of Notification for Fee Increases: On multiple occasions, I have noticed that Duke Energy has increased fees without providing any prior notice or warning. This lack of transparency is unacceptable and puts an undue burden on customers who are already struggling to make ends meet.Overcharging in Low-Income Areas: There is a clear and concerning trend of overcharging in low-income areas. This appears to be a deliberate and discriminatory practice that unfairly targets vulnerable communities. Such actions not only harm individuals but contribute to broader societal inequalities.Unexplained Quarterly Charges: I have observed a disturbing pattern of Duke Energy adding new charges to my bill on a quarterly basis without any explanation or notification. This not only confuses customers but also raises serious questions about the integrity of their billing practices.Annual Increase in kWh Charges: Every year, there seems to be an increase in the per-kilowatt-hour (kWh) charge, without any justification or improvement in services. This continual escalation places an additional financial burden on customers who are already struggling with rising living costs.

I am a builder and your company is the worst to deal with out of all the utility companies I have to deal with building a new house. Always losing work orders, Builder Line and Builder Portal do the same thing, but both lose jobs and Builder Line can not see the Builder Portal. Left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. Field engineers routinely ask me to call in work orders, because they have problems pulling them up.

I stopped living in our apartment October 20th 2023. In January I received a notice that I owed over $200 dollars for services in November when I did not live in the apartment. After sending them lease information and confirming that I did not occupy the residence they refused to take away any of these charges and are threatening to send them to collections.
