Just bought a house a little over a year ago and have been dealing with Duke energy for vines growing on and blowing out a transformer in our yard and almost nothing is getting done. When they come to repair the transformer when it blows out, they joke that this house is notorious for blowing the transformer from the vine growth. They only trim back a small amount for it to grow back again in a few months. Multiple tickets closed out with no information on why. Multiple times tickets are closed out and no one even comes to our property when they claim they have. Ive Spoken with 3 different managers stating they will document and escalate these tickets but nothing is getting done. I am not being called when they promise someone will reach out to me and its been a non stop loop for over 10 months now. Ive been nothing but polite with everyone Ive talked with but something needs to be done. The disrespect to constantly close out tickets after claiming to have either done work, or no work needed is insane. ( for someone to have gotten to the transfomer they need to drive in our backyard and it will leave evidence that someone has been there to work on it). I dont know what else to do after speaking with the last manager today stating there is no one higher up to talk to and all I can do is document with them. 0/5 stars for their communication with the customer and getting things done.

If I could rate negative stars I would.Lets start with saying I paid $350 a month for my electric bill for a 580 sq apartment. My temperature was set at 73 degrees and it was blowing 83 degrees. Also another incident I was on budget billing for 5 months I thought I was getting a good deal and that the program was super beneficial. SURPRISE SURPRISE I get hit with a $600 bill because they never renewed my budget billing. And of course the issues couldnt stop there I moved July 24th and I had my stopped services scheduled I called to confirmed that it was turned off NOPE!!!! They advised they cant come out until July 31st I said okay.It is now September 5th and I get a bill from my old place and I called and asked what it was about and they advised that my services were never shut off!!! Even though I have confirmation for them to be turned off July 31st.They advised that the soonest they could turn it off now is September 12th mind you I moved out July 24th.They advised that they will not bill me after July 24th and I said awesome great can you please send me a email stating that. They advised that they could not send me confirmation that they will not charge me they can only send me confirmation of when my services will be turned off. This by the worst company I have ever had to go through. The amount of money that I have wasted with Duke Energy is absurd and honestly disgusting the way they treat there customers.

My main complaint is our power goes out a lot twice a month lately. Most of the time its for no apparent reason such as bad weather and is at least ***** hours. The reasons given are fallen trees, equipment damaged and animals. We are in a rural area and the last two times has only been 21 people per the map. Im beginning to think the employees just need something to do or need some overtime. They ride around in trucks looking for the problem. Do they not have computers to tell them where the problem is? This is too big of a company to continue to have the issues we have. Duke should provide everyone with a generator since they cant seem to provide uninterrupted service. From the other reviews it doesnt seem like calling them would make a difference. Would definitely change companies if I could.

I have lived in 3 different states plus the island of PR due to my job and Duke is the worst energy provider I had to deal with. I moved to ******** ** 3 yrs ago and I have never experienced so many and frequent power outages in any other place I lived previously. So far we had to replace one HVAC unit, repair a 3 yrs old refrigerator and dryer. They have been upgrading the power lines and replacing the poles but it is just getting worst, the frequency of the power outages is increasing, even under simple weather conditions. Cannot wait to be transferred again, hopefully to a state/city where Duke Energy is not the main or only energy provider.

I am a small business owner here in **************. I called in November, noticing an issue with my statements and I was getting credited for the amount I was supposed to pay. I spoke to a representative and they said it could be possible that I overpaid on some bills and they were crediting me for the amount.Fast forward to now. I got a notice of disconnection in the mail. It turns out that the meter was a 'ghost' meter and no one knew it belonged to me. However, they knew about this issue for ten months and didn't bother to contact me about it. Now they are charging me $1100 for something that wasn't even my fault in the first place. Worst company ever.

If I could give no stars, that would be a more accurate representation of Duke Energys conduct. I lose service at least 4 times a month. Rain, storm, or sunshine, we lose our power. *** been forced to miss doctor ************ because of the lack of power more times than I can count. No credit is offered. Ever. Theyve monopolized the area so no other provider is available. Absolutely horrible service.

My Duke Energy bill came today. The amount Duke Energy said I owed was more than twice the normal amount due. My energy usage bill was $71.21 and an additional bill for $90.65 had been tacked on for Share the Light. I called the **************** number listed on my bill and spoke to ******. ****** told me last month I volunteered to donate $90.65 to the Share the Light program, but as that **** hadn't been paid yet, she could cancel the voluntary donation and change the amount due on my account. My eyesight is poor but I am proud to be able to do my own banking at the age of 87. My daughters "help me" when they can, but last month I paid the bills myself. Duke Energy's bill shows two locations to enter the amount being paid directly under the Amount Due line. To the left asks customers to "$ Add here, to help others with a contribution to Share the Light". Directly to the right of that line is "$ Amount Enclosed". This is very confusing and should be changed to ensure older people such as myself with poor eyesight such as myself living on a fixed income such as myself are not tricked into spending money they haven't budgeted. In my opinion, the donation line, should it even remain, should be placed in a separate area of the bill.

I was an employee at Duke Energy and was recently let go because of the lack of training every day they are updating new things and expect for everyone to keep track management is horrible and there is NO GROWTH LET ME SAY THAT AGAIN NO GROWTH how does a company so big only pay their employees ***** an hour not only that management tells you theres no more room for other people to come on board for you to move out how discouraging! Now the calls! they half train the employees so i feel for the customers when they are told misinformation duke energy jacks up their rates and honestly when they do their re-billing its a SCAM! **** customers are being rammed over with rates! DONT WORK FOR DUKE YOU WILL NOT GROW YOU WILL NOT GET ANY FEED BACK ON CALLS UNLESS YOU MADE A MISTAKE AND NOW ITS ON YUR RECORD!

Duke energy is the worst I have been hung up on 3 times and final person I spoke to yells at me we have somebody there! uhh no the h*** you don't, the lines are laid out in the road and in my yard. Sir there's over ****** people without power your gonna have to wait, well your app says there's only 300 and nowhere else is this small town has lines down... the apps wrong sir there's ****** in ************** without power... Do you have the right address I'm in ************** wtf does ** have to do with me? Y'all got 20 trucks here and every **** one of them is parked. In the last 2 months because I live on a backwoods country road they put us on low priority and we lose everything I've lost $800 or more in food in those last 2 months because of it... There's nothing more dangerous than a man that's got nothing left to lose and I'm about to my limit. They don't give a c*** about fixing anything, customer service is a scam, they yell at you like you took the line down and feed so many lies about repairs when nobody's there, they raised my bill because they dumped and polluted the river and as long as you pay the bill they don't care or lose anything I wish the BBB would do something but I won't hold my breath
