      Terrible customer service. ********************** goes out way too often. No ETAs of power return. No status updates. Rude customer service who cannot tell you more than what is online which is nothing.

      I recently requested an account change after my husband died. Duke Energy charged me to change the account to my name and ran a credit check. They treated me like a new customer because they don't allow joint accounts. My husband and I both paid the bill for 20 years at my current residence, but they only allowed the **** to be in his name. What bothered me the most was their deception. After the account was changed, I was told I was being forwarded to a consultant who would check to make sure all account changes were correct as an effort for better customer service. Instead I was transferred to AllConnect who had access now to all my personal information including my email address and social security number. This third-party now has access to all my personal information without my consent. I would have given zero stars, but beyond the horrible customer service, I have seen ********************** keep the power on storm after storm. I've always appreciated that.

      Duke Energy uses Modern Plumbing exclusively for their home water line repair. I had already had a certified plumber come & ck. the leak was at the meter - I call *********** come & the guy says he can't find ****** need to call a leak detector to find the leak - then I get a phone call from the office saying they can replace the whole line for $4,000 or I can call a leak detector. I tell her we are not using them. I then contact Dominion Energy who we have water line repair with also & they use ********* Plumbing - they are honest ************* fixed the leak no charge.Duke Energy needs to look into Modern Plumbing for trying to take advantage of people. It was probably too hot for their employee to bother looking for the leak.

      worse company ever, all my equipment damages everytime it rain because the outside poles keep exploting, hanging wires all over the place. They don't fix damage equipment. Have low voltage on business

      Worst energy company ever, constant power outages, zero customer support they make billions and refuse to upgrade the infrastructure required to provide power to community. They want to increase rates for the same terrible service since they have a monopoly good luck finding someone else to get power from they are the worst

      ACCOUNT NUMBER ************** I closed my account February I never received my $280 deposit It has been 5 months and they never mailed my refund I was told after calling back multiple times that my refund went to invoices for each month after my account was closed The invoices don't show up on my online account They did email each of the invoices that I never received (each month after my account was closed it is showing a 0 KW usage and a monthly $25 service fee)They still don't show up on my online account I received a $7 zelle refund 7-17-23 I'm still missing $280 5 months after closing the account I've called over and over again.On 7-18-23 I spoke with someone in the *************** and she said I should have the refund by this Friday My online account still doesn't match what I'm being told

      They are the worst company there is. Terrible customer service. Dont care about their customers. Doing rolling brown outs in my area because they cant keep up with demands. Lie to you and tell you crew is on the way. Whole time nothing physically wrong anywhere to begin with. Hottest time of year are intentionally turning peoples power off. Worst there is.

      I moved from my apartment complex at ******************************************************************* on June 30,2023. I am still being charged for service for an apartment unit I do not occupy. I attempted to disconnect service online on the day of and received an error message that said something along the lines of "no account was found'. I received this error message while logged onto my account. I tried to call in on 07/13/2023 and an agent advised me that I cannot backdate a cancellation. I demand for my service to be disconnected because **** is now fraudulently charging me for service. I demand for this service to be backdated to end 06/30/2023. It is asinine that an agent refuses to honor my request, and even further lunacy that Duke energy expects for a person to pay for a service of a unit they no longer occupies.

      Duke Power has a consultant phone number that's operated by ***************. They're arrogant and scamming customers. Duke Power needs to shzut them down ASAP.

      I have been waiting for over 4 months for a refund. I was just rudely HUNG UP on by a rep ******************** calling over 5 times over the span of 2 months. They say they sent it to a random phone number and then claim that they also sent a paper check. I NEVER received my refund and I continue to have to pay them monthly!
