    This company (Brightspeed/Centurylink) has been the worst experience of dealing with a phone and internet company. I have had service with them from the start -30 years ago when I moved into my house, started with(only choose at the time) Sprint, Embarq, Centurlink, and now Brightspeed. ******************************** have been the worst. The SPEED IS SLOW! Here is the final straw to switch after other previous issues. Tried to download a file from work and said it would take 14 hours. Went to my daughter's house about a mile from me and used her internet, ONLY TOOK 1 MINUTE TO DOWNLOAD FILE!!!! Switching to her internet company!!!!!Brightspeed only wants to solve problems over phone from another country, switch you multiple times, takes several calls to get it done, when I am having issues in US and they are 1/2 half across the world on the phone and internet trying to fix issue. By the time I finish speaking with them I have wasted several hours to half a day & completely frustrated. Always feels like they want to hurry to get you off the phone. I was even told my on representative I was going to wait on the phone til it was taken care of and she said she was not allowed to do that, I told her not to hang up on me, I should not have to keep going thru & calling & prompt each time I call & go thru name, number, address multiple times. Was even told I did not answer prompt correctly when they where switching me multiple times to get answers. As they say the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing, it is true with them. So glad to leave.Fingers crossed I am finally done with them!!!!!!!!

    I have had so many problems since Brightspeed took over CenturyLink. The internet/wifi works maybe 5% of the time. I have to buy cellphone plans, just so I can get any internet access. Right now, I am on a data plan because the Brightspeed wifi/ internet that I am paying for is not working. So far this week, I have received 2 bills from Brightspeed. One due on March 13th and the other due on March 14th. I have no clue why I am getting 2 bills for one account. Customer Advocacy *****. They have a day off and then say that they are closing account due to lack of communication on my part but I have to sit around and wait for them to answer my questions. I want CenturyLink back.

    The repair technician who came to the house was fantastic! He is the only reason I didn't cancel my service and find a new carrier. Their call center on the other hand is completely worthless and did nothing but waste my time!! I should be charging brightspeed a premium for my HOURS I spent on the phone wasting my breath to the ******************!! Every single person I talked to over the phone in the last 3 weeks have been absolutely horrible!! If my "in home" technician (******) would not have been so very helpful, brightspeed would have one fewer customer!!

    After reading the other reviews, I see an ongoing pattern. Never had trouble with the prior company (started with a C and ended with a link). Brightspeed came on the scene, and it's been nothing but lies. I drove from out of state to my ELDERLY parents' house because they had no phone and no internet for monitoring cameras. An online "specialist" was going to send someone out in TWO DAYS. When I told him this was an emergency, he said they would send out someone for the next day, but scheduled the appointment for two days later anyway. That evening I got a manager who SWORE someone would be out "first thing in the morning". That AFTERNOON, the tech came - AND FIXED EVERYTHING IN LIKE FIFTEEN MINUTES! I lost TWO DAYS from work, and got lied to TWICE. Furthermore, the guy who came out told me that they are routinely told that "there is no work" because Brightspeed doesn't want to spend the money to dispatch them! If you have an alternative to Brightspeed for phone, internet, ANYTHING, go with them. BUT RUN FROM BRIGHTSPEED AS FAST AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN!!!! If I could give negative stars I would. There is NOTHING good about this company- except the service guy who came and got everything straightened out (WHICH, by the way, was the ONLINE TECH'S FAULT!!)

    We have been customers of Sprint, Centurylink and finally BrightSpeed for 31 years. We changed landline to ******* due to constant phone line quality. But planned on keeping internet. Everything was changed correctly then I received an email that our services were cancelled. No internet for last two weeks of November not by my request. Brightspeed turn off internet. Now they say I owe them $74.46 for November and ***************** Refuse to remove charge after two calls. Said that it was going to show up on my credit score.After 31 years and this is so sad they treat customers like this and billing for a service that I did not have. Brighspeed is terrible in our area.

    Only reason I am still dealing with brightspeed is because its my only option for internet where I live. I will get rid of their service and go without internet if they dont deliver on their promises. Good Job ********, giving this company 400 million in taxpayer money to build infrastructure to people who need internet as much as electricity. Brightspeed is scam.

    If I could give them negative stars, I would. We have had nothing but issues with Brightspeed since Centurylink sold our account to them (and thus abandoned us completely with a useless replacement). We are a small business and were without internet (and the ability to run credit card transactions) for over a week with little concern or help from Brightspeed. Our internet has been incredibly slow and spotty since the switch over. When are finally able to get a tech out they couldn't care less and don't do anything. Most recently, two of our three business phone lines do not work (thus losing business) - when I reached out via chat to Brightspeed I was transferred to FOUR different people within a 15 minute timeframe - only to be told I'm a centurylink customer and booted out of the chat. Shocker, we are NOT centurylink anymore. I asked for a tech to be sent out and was told I had to check out wiring to the *********** themselves - all seven of our phones are acting up at the same time because of wiring? Makes sense *sarcasm*. I have a tech scheduled for TWO WEEKS out (maybe sooner if they can get around to it). What a joke. This company should be put out of business. Stay far away.

    Brightspeed internet is horrible. Have 3 email accounts with Centurylink. Use Outlook. Without warning or doing anything, Stopped getting any downloads from first acct. on Outlook OR phone since 2/7/2023!!! Had computer store technician get first acct. up in Centurylink.net but can only view. If try to send, get pop up server suspects spam & to contact!! Keep getting pop *** to contact server on Outlook for lack of being able to download. Getting lots of spam emails in all accts. Have had 2 different scans of computer from 2 places & do not have viruses or malware. Have spent $250 on computer store *********** Squad trying to get email to work in Outlook & on CL.net. & to reinstate the correct POP or IMAP (?) *********** doesn't work. They got my 2nd & 3rd email accts working on Outlook but not able to access in CL.net!!! You can't get a human. Have spent 4-7 hrs almost daily trying to get response from chat (was in queue for 7 hrs one ********** cut me off 3x) or find email support. Found place on CL to submit email support. Finally got a response but it is to do these 2 pages of entering things about POP or IMAP that I have no idea what it means & tech support people have tried!!! ***** having to find other internet provider & switch email addresses. Have appt. in March for Geek Squad to come to house to try to rectify.

    Drops all the time. VPN can not connect. **************** drops your call, and doesn't call you back on the # provided. Horrible service. Century was bad but this company provides dial up only, if you can even get that. Slow internet, it's dialup, and I pay for *********.

    Brightspeed does not care for it's customers! I have been trying to get a refund that was an overpayment I made in August of 2022. After many many talks with **************** at Brigjhtspeed I still have not received my money. Were talking $55.00 here. I get the same answer every time I call " We are so sorry, you will get the check in 4-6 weeks." That just gives them another 4-6 week to delay the payment and do nothing..I even emailed the *** and he did not even give me an answer. I don't understand why they won't give me my money back. They have acknowledged in writing that they owe the money.
