This company is an abomination. I pay a pretty ***** each month and I have been blackmailed by this company to pay almost $11,000 for bloodwork that has been someone elses error. I never agreed or consented to out of network labs. The dr I went to and facility were all in network. BCBS has made my life h*** for the past 8.5- 9 months. I have filed an appeal ************ completely failed to properly review my case and sided with BCBS $11,000 claim. I did my own legwork and found out the $ has been completely written off by the attending lab. This goes to show how nobody does their job correctly everything is half done and the patient has to do all of the work. I might as well be on their payroll!

We were straight-up lied to. We were told that a doctor was in our medical network. After we had a procedure, insurance said the doctor was not in the network. This company does not do business in good faith. I would steer far and clear of this company at all costs.

My son is neurodivergent and is in need of a therapist. He has been to 4 different therapists in the last year because they either move or go to telehealth exclusively. In-person has worked the best for him. I finally found this fourth one after being on several wait lists. I was told that she cannot take my insurance because she has not yet been approved by Blue Cross Blue Shield. I paid $150 for the initial visit. I'm a single mom and a teacher, so money is an issue. It has been almost a month and when I called to check the status I was told that it would be a longer wait. The provider said that they have heard from other providers of it taking up to 9 months for BCBS to approve them. Mind you, she has been approved by the other insurance companies already and started the process with BCBS a month before our initial visit. I'm already concerned that this therapist won't have any availability left for my son by the time she gets approved and I'd have to wait months more?! In the meantime, he does not have a therapist and I don't know if he will even be able to see this therapist again. I called BCBS and they said there was nothing I could do except pay out of pocket. They said that there are providers available on their website but that they just may not meet what I'm looking for (works with kids, in-person, and after school hours). I don't think I'm being unreasonable with what I'm looking for, and even if I was, there's nothing I can do to lower those expectations. I'm exhausted! I pay a premium for a service that can't be used because they are unable to approve providers in a reasonable amount of time. If they approved this therapist it would cost me nothing. The only hurdle to my son getting a therapist is BCBS and they won't do anything about it. All teachers are provided the ***************** so there's nothing I can do about it except get private insurance, which would be stupid expensive. I'm at a loss. Do better Blue Cross Blue Shield!

My experience was that individuals at BCBS of ** did not provide very good information, were very bad about following up and almost seemed to try to provide as little helpful information as possible to the point that they appeared to be intentionally misleading. I was directed to others specifically who never responded to my emails and then was told weeks later that those individuals had moved away from those departments. The complaint process communicated to me is to send the complaint to that department. So, complain to the contact who you're having problems with?

Even though I cancelled my BCBS policy for a ******** supplement 2 months in advance they continued to take a monthly premium from my online account for over 8 months! They only returned 2 months worth and denied that I had cancelled. Due to severe illness I did not catch this for awhile. Theft of more than $1000 is what it is called; but try and fight a big company. So I will tell my story over and over. The public needs to know, especially seniors, like myself.

BCBS of ** now thinks they are your doctor instead of your insurance company. They have crossed the line of major unethical practices by forcing you to change from a medication that has work fine without any adverse reactions for many years to something that *** cause a serious life threatening adverse reaction just to increase BCBS profits. Why is this insurance company permitted to get away with such unethical actions.

An agent told me on the phone that my mother was covered through July 31st, and I confirmed multiple times there was nothing else I had to do. Then she received got a prescription found out she was indeed not covered during that time. I waited on hold for hours for them to listen to my call recording and resolve the situation. They said they would cover my service. I got another call later that they would not and Id have to pay two months of a premium for over $700. This was their fault and they didnt take accountability.

I wish I could give negative stars for BCBS! My husband was diagnosed with cancer THREE months ago and they denied him a doctor prescribed PetScan for an entire month!!! After calling them three days straight raising cane they called ME for a customer survey. Boy did I tell them all about their LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE ESPECIALLY THEIR "MEDICAL DIRECTOR". The next day they called for my husband to come to the hospital to have the scan..why did I even have to call??? Does the "MEDICAL DIRECTOR" know more than the Urologist??? Where did he/she get their MEDICAL DEGREE?? Now they have denied him the stay at the hospital at the time of surgery!!! This is absolutely ridiculous!!!!!! I am so furious that I can hardly see straight! ??
