GreenBean Battery took four weeks to install a refurbished battery in my 2012 Prius V. I was told by ***** before I paid the full price + lifetime warranty that they have installers in my area (***********). I had ***** double check to be sure. To be clear, I would not have gone with this company if they were not capable of servicing my area. ***** assured me it would never be a problem. Four weeks later, someone drove down from ****** ** to install the refurbished battery. The battery they installed only ran for SIX DAYS before failing. I had purchased the lifetime warranty and put in a claim which was approved after several frustrating back and forth emails with *********************************** and 2.5 days. It has been 4.5 weeks since I first sent in the warranty claim. Despite desperate attempts to talk to SOMEONE, over 20 calls, voicemails, and emails, no one ever answered or returned my calls or replied to emails. Finally I managed to get ahold of one person in the warranty department via TEXT - "***" - and he told me he would call me or text me every day with an update and that it shouldn't be much more than a week and a half. He also informed me that the nearest installer they have is in ******* so that's why it's taking so long. That was ten days ago (August 13) and I have heard nothing from him since and he has not responded to me reaching out. Since then, I have heard nothing and gotten no responses, and of course, my battery has not been replaced.GreenBean Battery sold me a faulty product 10 weeks ago, has lied to me and ignored me, and the warranty department feels like it is a full-blown scam. Because of these horrible business practices and really bad product, I would like a full refund of the battery and the warranty, and I would like there to be an official warning put out that GreenBean Battery is not a company that can be trusted or relied on and that their communication is practically nonexistent within the warranty department.Business Response

I purchased a replacement hybrid battery from Green Bean Battery back in 2020. It came with a lifetime warranty and I still Have all the documents that came with my battery. Unfortunately, I have Sent emails, called and left messages, sent messages over social media, and I have yet to receive a response. Their phone number will disconnect if Im on hold for more than 10 minutes automatically. Very frustrating as I paid extra for the lifetime warranty. I cant get ahold of anyone regarding this issue.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I rarely receive communication from Green Bean Battery. I have sent multiple emails, texts, calls etc. ****************** I receive are vague. My claim was approved with no follow up. This is week 3 without my car because this company is not honoring my warranty in a timely manner. It should not take 3 weeks to check inventory and schedule a warranty repair with zero communication with the customer.
Sincerely,

I submitted a claim on a replacement battery, It was approved two months ago Through green bean battery. They keep telling me that theres no stock available, But as soon as they do have a replacement battery, I will be notified. *** tried to reach out to them, And now its to the point they wont even respond to the text messages or emails or voice messages that I have left. The car is not drivable now, Until they replace the battery in it. I feel like Im just getting the runaround. I paid for a warranty, And now its been over two months and I cant drive my car. No one will return my messages. I can see two or three weeks being out, but not two months. Thats just unheard of.Business Response

The hybrid battery warranty claim on my 2008 Camry was approved on 7/30/24 yet Im still waiting to be notified when the technician will be able to do the job. I was notified in the approval email that they are experiencing higher than expected volume and management was involved to speed up the timeline and get it resolved ASAP. I made multiple attempts to contact a ***resentative via phone calls and emails for any kind of update with no luck. I finally spoke with an online chat *** that was able to send a message to the warranty department regarding my claim but I wasnt contacted by anyone. Im trying my best to be patient and understanding but feeling like Im being ignored doesnt help.Business Response

This company sells batteries that fail and do not replace them under warranty in reasonable time.If first purchased a battery with a lifetime warranty on 8/11/21 for $1,********* failed 7/10/***** was replaced 7/15/23.That failed 6/6/24.That was replaced 6/15/24.That failed 6/15/24 (that's right, it lasted 10 minutes...)That was replaced 6/15/24.That failed 8/9/24.These batteries are not designed to last, I no longer trust my ****** car is now stranded 140 miles away. Complaint: 22145002
I am rejecting this response because they are absolutely not honoring the warranty in a reasonable time frame.
My car was stranded with a battery that failed after less than 2 months. I didn't receive a timeframe until 2 weeks after I submitted the warranty request.
They are breaching the warranty contract I signed. The only way I would be satisfied is if they refund my initial purchase so I can take my business elsewhere.
Why should I go back to them if they will give me another battery that fails after a month and leaves me weeks without a car?
Sincerely,

Hi Izak,
I wanted to follow up regarding your warranty claim filed on August 9th, which was approved the next day pending inventory availability. We reached out to you on August 25th to schedule your battery replacement, but I understand you declined at that time and requested a refund.
While we don’t process refunds, I want to assure you that our production facility in Wisconsin conducts rigorous testing on all hybrid batteries to ensure their quality and longevity. We’ll make another attempt to contact you soon to discuss scheduling.
Thank you for your understanding, and we appreciate your patience.

I am rejecting this response because:
They are not honoring the warranty in a timely way. I will go weeks without communication. I have no trust in this company, they have breached the contract I signed.
I also very much do not believe their batteries are rigorously tested. The fact that 3 batteries failed within 2 months disproves this. The fact that so many others online are having identical issues again shows their pattern of neglect.
And frankly the overwhelming evidence they are faking google reviews is quite alarming and should be taken very seriously.
Why are there so many reviews about Chioke and Kenny being great, right after negative reviews? My guess is they are buying good reviews to drown out low reviews.
If you google Green Bean Battery, you immediately see very poor reviews from Reddit, Yelp, BBB, Prius Chat, and more.
Sincerely,

That's not my name.
Failed to address my issues: warranty not being honored in good faith because (1) the product is CLEARLY being replaced with subpar components and (2) the warranty isn't being exercised in reasonable time.
Also failed to even acknowledge the fact they are faking the google reviews.

Purchased a Hybrid Battery from Green Bean on Dec ******* and added the Lifetime warranty for the price of $1,608.41. This is for a 2006 ****** Prius. Battery failed in July of 2024. Contacted GreenBean warranty department on 7/16. Heard from warranty department on 7/16 provided all information on 7/16. Last I hear from Greenbean was 7/23. I have asked for a status update on 7/29, 8/3, 8/7, 8/13, and 8/14 to no avail. My car is now dead and I have no apparent recourse. Very unfortunate that we were off to a good start, and now after multiple attempts I am being shined on. I paid extra for the warranty, and have provided all of the information asked of me.Business Response

Greenbean Battery LLC I purchased a green bean hybrid battery in May 2021 and it had a lifetime warranty. The battery stopped working on 1-Aug-2024. I immediately reached out to them by phone, email and text message. My warranty claim was accepted under #WRNTY00060573.GB said, will be in touch with me as soon as GB has the dates.I have been waiting for hybrid battery replacement. When I followed up for replacement hybrid battery by phone call, text message and emails. I couldnt get through to the warranty department.Received per-written email message. At this point I dont know how long is going to take to get respond and to replace the battery. My communication with the company, via calls, texts and emails this past week has been unfruitful. I do not expect overnight service, however, it is highly unprofessional to not provide customers with an approximate timeline for service. As of 14 Aug 2024. I have no idea when my car will be serviced and my fear is that GreenBean will fail to honor the warranty.Business Response

The lifetime warranty was purchased and the battery went out. We spent $400. on a diagnostic to prove it was the battery. On Thursday July 11, 2024 after 3 weeks the battery was replaced. My car battery lights came on after ONE 3 mile drive! I called the company who replaced the battery who stated it must be a defective battery and to file another warranty claim. I got the codes stating the hybrid battery was bad and it has now been 4 weeks and have not heard back. I contacted them by phone on August 8, 2024 and left another message on ************. I have been without a car for 7 weeks. I need a rental car or something because I have to drive 250 miles every week. This is absolutely ridiculous!Business Response

Green Bean Battery seems like a very reputable company. When I purchased a battery from them, they came out immediately and installed it. The battery failed on me 9 days ago, and I filed a warranty claim, it seemed like they were trying to pretend not to understand by requesting that my mechanic send the error code, not just once, not twice, but asked 3 times. Sure - they might need to check some weird checklist for the warranty to cover the battery, but they approved the claim and said they would replace the battery under warranty. It's now been more than 2 days since they confirmed the battery will be replaced (It took them a week to complete their investigation/decision), and now they have ghosted me. I have asked via text and voicemail several times; asking when they will come to replace the battery. Their warranty department never answers, and the text number they provide is non-responsive as well. It's not OK for me to just not have a car and have no idea when I will ever get my car repaired. I cannot go to work or do my regular life errands for more than a week now. This company needs to please come and honor their warranty.Business Response

In late June 2024 I emailed the warrantee company about my battery. It has a lifetime warrantee. And had to be used before. I received no response for two weeks. I sent another email as well as left a message on their phone number. Since then, I have left three messages on their machine with the warrantee department. Today, 9 August 2024 I tried their new battery purchase number. There was no answer, I wanted about 9.5 minutes the first time and less than 5 minutes the second time when the machine hung up on me to give a message. In the last they have been very helpful and quick to respond so I am surprised at the lack of service they are giving. But reading other complaints, they must have made major changes.Business Response
