We moved from ********************************************************************************** on 20 March 2025. At that time I cancelled our services and asked that the trash bins be removed, as the new owners are using another company.They did not pick up the bins, so I called them last week and they informed me that it was scheduled. I stated 6 weeks seemed too long. I was told by their employee that she would check with dispatch and ask them to remove their ******* of today, 12 May 2025 they have not removed the bins, I and the new owners are tired of their lack of customer service and professionalism.Please help us solve this problem. GFL Douglasville Branch 95 is taking our money but not picking up the trash. Its been over a month since the trash was picked up on our scheduled day. GFL services our entire neighborhood. So trash was piled up and stinking and drawing rodents for over 3 weeks. The *** and individuals called DAILY to report this. Every day we were told they would send a truck to pick it up. They continue to lie. Nothing has been done to insure we are getting service that we pay for. All in ************************ manages our ***. They continue to take our money and we are paying for service that they are not delivering. This is ILLEGAL. And they are doing nothing to fix this issue. This is the worst business I have ever encountered. In the last year I have had more than consecutive missed trash pick *** than actual pick ***. There are many times we have gone 2 weeks in a row with no garbage pick *** at all. There are no other options because *** bought out all of the local companies. They are horrible and something needs to be done. It has caused so much stress and anxiety.Business Response

This is what we hate about Canadian business environment. GFL has kind of monoply when it comes to need for automotive related waste removal and disposal. We have been trying to reach and get hold of them from past 1 year or so to setup up recycling services but get no response. I finally got hold of someone last month and was able to send filled application for setup and since than again silence. Does not matter how many times you email that person back he will not respond. Its like i am trying to talk to walls. I wish i have way to talk to the CEO of the business or can complain about them to *********************** who collects ECO fee on every thing we buy but are unable to safely recycle those things because of companies like ***.Customer Answer

I have used GFL since September 2023. The agreement between me and GFL is they provide sanitation services/home pickup, and I pay my bill on time. I have 100% paid my bill every quarter on time. *** has not lived up to their end of the contract. They have missed two pickups over a 2.5-year period, until 4 weeks ago when pick up completely stopped. My trash is piled up, smelling and attracting animals' tearing the bags open that do not fit in my can. I called GFL 5/02 twice, 5/05, 5/06, 5/07 inquiring about the missed pickups. Each person I spoke with gave me conflicting stories; they are changing companies, they are short staffed, they have new drivers not familiar with the routes etc... I was also told my complaint and concerns would be passed along to the next higher up person to escalate the process for pickup. I called to request my money back for the last quarter $99.61 and $50 for the trashcan rental. In addition, I will be canceling my service if it isn't picked up by May 09, 2025. I was told they do not offer refunds of any sort and continued to say "tomorrow" it will be picked up. Not only is this not living up to their promise it is a health hazard for trash to sit this long.Business Response

I requested trash pick up over a month ago. I was charged $159. I have since been told they don't service my area. I requested a refund weeks ago. Every time I call I get a different reply. So me and my husband bought a house back in June and got our trash through GFL environmental. For the first two months they picked trash up two times in which I had to call and complain each week for them to come and pick our trash up, which never happened; actually, they didnt pick it up for a whole month to the point that there was maggots spewing out of the top of it,. So we ended up switching to waste management and asked GFL to no longer resume service with us and to pick their trashcan up. They said that they would two more months went by still the trashcan sat in front of the house in the same spot in which it has been in the same spot since August of last year. 2024. We have called four or five times since then in which they say theyre going to send a truck out to pick up our trashcan. Then they claimed the trashcan could not be picked up because they claim it wasnt there when it has been sitting in the same spot late on that side since August 2024. They have sent us to collections over this. I have tried reaching out to the ****************** and they say they cannot help me. I havetried calling the corporate office and ******* in which I can never get through to anybody. I have tried calling the ************ location, which is the that services us and it always has a busy tone every single time that I called no matter what time of day it is. My husband has also called multiple times to complain and requested it to be picked up. They have again sent us a bill for this trashcan in which they have not even sent a trash truck down this road since the otherthree neighbors who moved in at the same time who also had GFL was having the same issue, but yet their trash cans have since been removed. Im not asking for a refund on the first three months by no means, but I refuse to pay for service that I never received, and I also refuse to pay for a trashcan that has been sitting in definitely a spot that can be picked up since again August of last year.Business Response

At the beginning of the year my dumpster had to be changed out because apparently it was the wrong kind of dumpster for my business, (it couldn't pick up construction trash) we are a construction company and have been with the WCA/GFL waste for almost 10 years. They didn't catch the error until they just decided to stop picking up the dumpster because there was construction trash in it. To make the very long story short I was told that the new dumpster would be around a $40/month increase and that would be it making my bill around $400 instead of the $350 it used to be. Then I began getting bills and was being charged an enormous amount definantly not around $400 more like $800. I have called *** many times over the last four weeks and was told every time that a supervisor would call me the next day. I still have not heard from a supervisor only **** the sales *** that has completely lied about everything going on. I have text messages and call logs on how many times I have attempted to contact GFL about my bill. Finally yesterday **** called me back after 3 weeks (and we were on top of his list), we were being charged so much because they were charging for 3x a week pick up. I only get picked up once a week and most months it doesn't happen every week. Today I'm being charged by weight all of a sudden which was never mentioned once. I've never paid by weight and would not agreed to that. After 3 months of service and when i say service it means they literally pick up when they want not once a week on thursdays like they're supposed to I have a balance of $3,392.45. That is over $1,100.00 a month, I was paying $350 how is that ok or even possible? I absolutely did not agree to any such thing. I am disputing these charges.Business Response

A month ago our service with *** was discontinued due to GFL claiming we owed them over ****** when we had told them not only did we not but had only been agreeing to pay the 60 dollars a month. Not quarterly to which I was told that it had changed to the quarterly billing. I stated that I received no notice of that change.And now I received a bill as you see in the download attached they are trying to charge us not only the ****** but added an additional charge of *****. And if you look at the bill at the top the billing period is for June to August. Again not only our services were canceled but our cans were picked up a month ago if not slightly over. So this is ridiculous they are not only trying to charge us for services we no longer have but still the wrong amount and additional chargeBusiness Response

Regarding *** trash company.3 months paid for April-June. Paid 3/10/25 for these months.GFL (our trash company) has not picked up our trash for two weeks. We are unable to contact any supervisor / manager as they will not call us back. We have called daily and are repeatedly told they will come within 24 hrs and still have not. Trash last picked up 4/17. They are refusing to refund our money and cancel our service. We paid for service and are not receiving said service.Business Response
