1 starThe absolute worst company *** been forced to deal with. I have tried many many times to get a hold of some sort of management representative about being more consistent in failing to provide contracted services than they actually provide them. They have taken my personally bought yard waste cans and one payment about two weeks late (my fault) was sent to collections even after payment with no attempt to contact me at all. Im currently petitioning the county to remove them from their contracted position.Review fromElaine F

1 starWould give 0 stars if I could. I signed up for service to begin on Friday, April 25. They missed the pickup on that day, and I couldn't call until the following Monday, because the office is closed over the weekend. When I called on Monday, I was told a truck would come by that day to pick uo the missed collection. When I calked on Tuesday, I was told that it xould take 24 - 48 hours after reporting a missed pickup for a "recover" truck to pick up my trash. In effect, when GFL misses a Friday pickup, it may take until the following Wednesday to pick up the missed service. Shortly after that call on Tuesday, I received a call from a *** customer service representative, who apologized and informed me there was no "recover' truck available, but that my trash would DEFINITELY be picked up on May 2, one week late. My trash was not picked up on May 2. At this point. I do not think *** has any intention of picking up my trash. I wish I had checked the BBB reviews before switching from my other company. This company is absolutely awful.Review fromShannon M

1 star*****, unethical, ******* corporate company that cares nothing about you. I thought I closed out my account with them in June 24. I paid what I thought was my final bill. They asked me to leave the bin at the property and they be by to get it in a week or two. At this point I thought things where closed out. Fast fwd 6 MONTHS!! I get a $45 charge in December 2024 from them out of my bank account. This charge ended up being for bin removal. Now this is in fine print of the contract. I called them and said that it was nasty, bad business to do such a thing to a person 6 months later and I wanted my money back. That is on them for not picking them up in a timely fashion. I can't image how many people they have sent to collections doing this shady business. The lady on the phone didnt care if I lived or die and would not back down about the charge. She told me NO ONE is going to remove that charge. I still asked to speak to a Supervisor. A nice lady from the actual ********* in ******** called, apologized and had already started the process to issue a refund. She explained calls get cycled to corporate even when you call their local number. They did credit my *** account online and sent a bill with the credit. But it sat there. So finally come March I call again. I'm stuck with someone in corporate. She tried to give me a run around. Finally said she needs to just issue the request to send me a check, claims she did while we are on the phone. A week later I log on to see what's going on and they have wiped any records of refunding me the $45. To include a bill they posted electronically in January showing the credit given back. I'm back at **********. They are dirty. Stay clear. I'm probably never going to see that $45 but I hope to save someone else the headache of working with this company and spread the word.Review fromDerek K

1 starPromised dumpster delivery on a Friday for home renovation work -- did not arrive -- no one answering the phone on Friday -- no one answering our contractor's "GFL personal line" either -- company does not work the weekend -- held on hold for over 45 minutes on Monday only to be told that the ********** that took the order does not service our address. Now arranging another service and will be double moving everything we tore out of the home over the weekend. GFL's order and dispatch system is broken and absolutely terrible.Review fromJeff H

1 starLived in my ********hood for less than a year. The builder of my house recommended GFL. Must have been getting a kick-back. They've missed pickup 3 times and all 3 times blamed a subcontractor. Never take responsibility. This last week was the last straw. Got 2 automated calls confirming my new pickup is set for Tuesday. It's always been Tuesday. Tuesday came and no pickup. By Wednesday night they had still not picked up in my ********hood. I called and was told they would set up a priority pick-up Thurs. I told the lady it wasn't just me but the whole ********hood that uses GFL. No pickup on Thurs. Another ******** called and was told the same thing and new pickup would be Fri. No pickup then, either, so a third ******** called. She was told they wouldn't pick up until the next Tuesday. Rolled my can to the back of the house. Low and behold, without any communication, this time, they showed up at 6a on Sunday morning. ***! Removed autopay so I can change companies at the end of May, when my current coverage expires.Review fromKim O

1 starI am so fed up with ***, our strata is looking for an alternative service provider. We average about one missed pick-up every 8 weeks. (We get three separate pick **** garbage, recycling and compost) Either a new driver "forgot" us, or a driver "forgo" the garage fob, The latest is the fob wasn't working. (I've used the same fob with no battery change for four years!) Can The driver not phone a contact in the building when they can't get access. We are now 5 days overdue for our recycling pick up...all the residents have been asked to hang onto their recycling until this is resolved. That means when the bins are eventually emptied, they will fill up again within a few hours. We've also had this problem in the summer with our garbage pick-ups...asking people to keep their stinky garbage or compost for a week in the heat of summer is not too popular. . So I'm not told that someone will be sent this afternoon, but he'll be coming without the fob, which is back at the office, so I'm expected to sit here for the afternoon and wait.Service from ****** was generally good, but since GF: took over all we've had is newly painted bins and many missed pick-upReview fromIsabelle M

1 starIf I could give 0 stars I would. I own a business and they pick up my garbage. They automatically renewed a contract for 5 YEARS at a price that is 4 TIMES the price of their competitor. When I tried to get out of it, they said I wasn't in the 90 days before the expiration of the contract (I was at 1.5 months). And when I tried to have a copy of the contract back in August 2024, they asked me why I wanted a copy and then never followed up with me. They are an absolute s*** company and I'm sure the ***** is involved. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY EVER.Review fromTheresa S

1 starGFL Environmental Services in ********* is a scam. I rented a waste removal dumpster and was told the charge was $325. No other charges were ever mentioned. I was told not to fill it all the way to the top. I rented it for one week. When the week was up no one came to get the dumpster, so I called GFL Environmental service, and they said they had no one to get it until Monday. I said I was only paying until Friday as that was our agreed upon date. The dispatcher said there would be no charge because they did not have anyone to pick it up until Monday. A month later I received a bill charging me for the extra days and extra weight of what I put in the dumpster. I put carpet in the dumpster and it only filled the bottom and they charged me $14.40 for it being overweight. Please be very cautious when using this company and watch everything they do.Review fromShannon E

1 starThis business does not even deserve one star. Their customer service is horrible, and their level of professionalism is just as bad. I would not recommend this business to anyone.
