      Awful. Awful. Awful. I signed up for pickup and have not received my can or any correspondence on when they will deliver it or come get my garbage. I cannot get anyone to answer the phone in *********. You pick a number on the prompt and then after about 5 minutes of waiting, it hangs up on you. I now have ants in my garage. I have paid for 3 months of service and this seems like a scam at this point.

      GFL's website is unprofessional and lacks necessary information; for example I cannot view my Service Calendar (this feature has been "Coming Soon" for over a year now) nor view my itemized invoices (unless I go back to paper billing, which defeats the point of an "Enviromental" company).
      My rates for both standard pickup and recycling were raised without any notice or explanation. GFL has missed my recycling pickup three times this year; the one time I actually submitted a missed pickup request, they merely put my RECYCLING materials in the TRASH truck on the next regular trash pickup day. I care deeply about recycling and pay a lot of extra money for this service, but GFL has not lived up to their "Environmental" branding in my experience.
      I have attempted to reach out to GFL about these issue five times over the past year through the contact form on their website and have never received a response. Their site seems to suggest that they consider the issues resolved (but it's difficult to be certain). I would have already switched to a different company, but all of the trash services in this area (including GFL) charge a ridiculous fee for initiating/terminating service (billed as a "container delivery/recovery fee," which the customer cannot avoid this since each company forces the use of their particular branded containers, even though they're structurally identical), and it's not worth the extra expense.

      If could give a true rating for their lack of service it would be negative 5 Star rating.
      We use to have a regular contract with *********** Waste Services and other than weather delays they picked up our trash without any issues. When GFL took over picking up trash we started to have all kind issues from late to no pick up. On 4 July 2022 I cancelled our contract with them and told them to come and remove their containers from our property and as of this message they haven't done that. I finally filed a compliant with ** Attorney General. This company is the worst company to do business with and they should have their business license taken away. GFL has idea about customer service every time I called them to speak with them I have been on hold so long that sometimes I would just hang up. GFL gives you every excuse in the book not to do what they should be doing. Don't even try to contact them at the ** contact screen you will get the same response I did NOTHING.

      If I could do ZERO stars, I would.
      1) The customer service with this service is beyond terrible. If, and I mean “if” you can get someone on the phone, they inevitably will speak to you as you are a second class citizen and not a paying/contributing customer in their company.
      2) Our subdivision’s experience; beginning back in December (yes, the week of Christmas), this service decided to just not show up for weeks. Im sure you can imagine the trash levels accrued during this time. It took 3 days to get someone on the phone to address the issue. When we finally had a person on the phone we were called liars and accused of exaggerating. Mind completely blown at this point…
      We figured this would have to be a one time occurrence… NOPE, it is now August and our trash has been picked up on it’s scheduled day (Friday morning) for a grand total of 3 times. We have suffered through phone calls and empty promises… the neighborhood has now switched services.
      We are riding our quarterly payment out and then obviously canceling service.
      Most recently… the trash was picked up on June 24th…. It was another 3 and a half weeks until they returned. So… from June 24th until July 30th our trash has been picked up twice. It is a weekly service.
      STAY FAR, FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!! There is not one aspect that is commendable. Customer service is terrible and obviously the trash collection is border-line criminal. When I stop to think about it, it is literally a theft of services…

      Don't pick up trash for two weeks you cancel service then get billed call customer service ************** location the agent by name of *****  says I cancelled service on July 25 which wasn't I cancelled on July 7th after not picking up for 2 weeks then I asked about picking up bins which I been told 4 different times they going to pick up certain time then never picked up so I asked when will they be picked up she says 2035 and hangs up on me

      I am paying for these services (which went up recently) and have had several missed pick ups. I call, go online and nothing is done. I have reached out to another service, but they too, have not gotten back to me. This is the worst service!

      I was a customer of ******** Waste and it got bought out by GFL. This has got to be the WORST waste management company I have ever dealt with. You have to pay extra just to have boxes that won't fit in the trash can (amazon boxes) or anything else that doesn't fit in the can (extra trash bags, etc...). These people are so lazy and unprofessional that the money you are already paying for service only applies to what's in the trash can itself. God forbid you have extra "normal" trash that can't all fit in the can. It will get left behind and you will be charged extra money just to have anything outside the can picked up. ******** was such a better company, I hate we lost them. I guess it's time to find another service. Just disgusting customer service and service as a whole. Shame on you GFL!

      GFL is horrible. My service day for recycling changed at the beginning of June 2022 and has only picked up once since then ( now end of July). I have a garage half full of cardboard and other items due to the missed pickups. Calls to customer service have you on hold for 30-60 min. They tell you one thing and pickup still NEVER occurs. Looking for a new provider ASAP.

      GFL took over our landfill facility recently. Shortly before the take over we had finally been able to implement a recycle drop off at our landfill. The recycle items then get transported about 45 miles to a facility that has done great work getting more items out of landfills and into possible reuse. GFL drastically altered the price for recycle. Their current price states $5/bag; $15 for more than a bag. Recycle designation should never be ‘per bag’. Recycle goes in bins, that is the point of recycle. There is no designation as to what size GFL considers as ‘a bag’. As a single household we could not fit our recycle for one week into one bag meaning we would pay $15/week. We cannot store more than one week at any time. Many families in our area want to help save the planet but simply cannot afford this $15/week. Sadly GFL is not living up to their name….Good For Life. Life=saving our planet for future generations=recycle.

      GFL Environmental picked up our trashcan on Wednesday, 7/20/22. When my husband called to find out why, it was stated we were behind on our bill. My husband proved to them that it was untrue and they said they will deliver our trash can back to us. On Friday, we called the company to let them know that we still had not received our trash can. They said that we will deliver it on MONDAY . When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was told they would put in a ticket and it will be 48-72 business hour before I could get a response from the supervisor. I was not happy! After waiting 40+ minutes , this is the customer service I get. Thankfully, I was able to call a local environmental company and they were able to deliver same day! I called GSL back the same day and had to wait another 40+minute to cancel my service only for Monday to come and they drop off a trashcan. I just left if on the side of the road until Wednesday for them to pick up it but they did not. I called customer service again ( 40+ minutes) to be told they will pick up the trashcan in 7-10 business days. I asked to file a complaint but the representative said he would make a note but there will be no follow up phone call regarding my complaint.
