I will never use this service again. I called and spoke with inside sales representative. Promises, Promises. They completely missed the ***************** rep said that they would help with labor helpers and did not. They ghosted me as well and would not return my calls. Gave me incorrect cost info to use their services. Charged me every time they move the container, which wasn't told this. I should have gone with a regular moving company and let them overcharge me. All the anxiety this company cause me. Never, never again! and I would even use them for storge. The worse experience ever...1-800-PACK-RAT, LLC

ZERO STARS if I could. They lack transparency and do not deliver on their promises and throw in fees/charges that were not agreed upon. We provided ample opportunities for them to correct their wrongs, even after they admitted guilt, they did not resolve with what is owed. They are not indeed more competitive than other providers.My wife and I were going to move forward with a competitor of 1-800-PACK-RAT but we allowed their sales team to come in with a more competitive cost of service. Good conversations and promises made at the front end of this service led us to ultimately book a transportation service with 1-800-PACK-RAT of a 16ft container from OR to AZ based on their initial promises. The container was dropped off and picked up at the starting destination on the dates initially provided. We get charged a "monthly rental fee" when booking, which was guaranteed that this charge was part of the final quoted amount. We then were charged again when the container was picked up at the starting location. The second charge was an inflated cost far above the total quoted amount PLUS the initial monthly rental fee. These two charges came out to be more than their competitor's cost of service. Aside from the overage charges, the container was not delivered at the final destination on the promised date, even after their sales person confirmed that they would be there on the requested date. It was delayed a total of 3 times. Each time they provided a different reason for delay.After disputing delays/charges with multiple representatives from their escalations team as well as their ***************** team they kept driving that the charges expected to be owed was based on our assumptions of cost of service and that there are fees that the sales team are not aware of to disclose to us such as a $314.23 Fuel surcharge. I repeated multiple times that the total cost of service provided to me on our phone conversation and for which we had agreed upon was all encompassing.1-800-PACK-RAT, LLC

We used Packrat to have storage containers shipped to our house and left in the driveway for several months while we went through things. Working with them was a great experience. Everything was as it was described. They delivered containers when they said they would and when I scheduled pickup they were quick and arrived when they said. To be clear, our containers were not shipped anywhere, we were simply using the containers for storage outside our house but it was very helpful. The drivers were quite skilled and able to get a very large truck up a tight drive. I wish every company I worked with was as well organized and on top of everything as they are. Horrible experience! Well at least the rep who does not fully communicate the order of operations. I do not know what Zippy Shell has going on with 1-800-PACK-RAT. The whole order process is a mess. I originally booked my order through 1-800-rat-pack on a Tuesday, and got an email confirmation from zippy shell. The next day on Wednesday confirmed my order and called Zippy Shell which has the same dial in number as 1-800-PACK-RAT to gather details for the delivery, the rep informed me that my confirmation nor order was on file and provided numbers to reach the ********* location for rat-pack. I contacted rat pack to only learn that my confirmation nor order information was not on file. Later that day I noticed an email from the rep informing me that my order was set. In that instance I replied to learn approximately what time the drivers would arrive so that I can arrange help to load ** the furniture in the containers. I did not get a response. So on Friday morning I tried contacting ******* and could not reach her. So I scanned the email to look for ways to reach the rep and noticed in her email signature included the following:So I called Forward moving and the Rep was not recognized as an employee for that company. At this point I am feeling run around when my information has been provided to the links provided by . So I called t and selected new customers option and I was directed to . I the. Expressed my dissatisfaction with the booking/confirmation process and her poor communication with the process. Needless to say, I canceled the order. Word to the wise check with another company or move your items yourself. Its sad that Forward moving and Zippy Shell got caught ** in this cross fire.1-800-PACK-RAT, LLC

Title: Disgraceful Treatment of Veterans by 1-800-PACK-RAT As a veteran, I am deeply disappointed and disgusted by the appalling treatment I received from 1-800-PACK-RAT, especially on a day like Veterans Day. This company has shown a complete lack of respect for those who have served our country, as evidenced by their careless and disgraceful actions.To my utter shock and disbelief, I recently discovered that my items, including my cherished military uniforms, personal documents, and valuable belongings accumulated over years of serving my country, were auctioned off by 1-800-PACK-RAT without my knowledge or consent. This blatant disregard for the sentimental and historical value of these items is beyond comprehension.Veterans Day is a time to honor and appreciate the sacrifices made by those who have served in the military. It is a day when we should be reminded of the importance of respecting and supporting our veterans. However, 1-800-PACK-RAT has demonstrated the complete opposite by callously disposing of my belongings, which hold immense sentimental value and represent my dedication to our nation.Not only did 1-800-PACK-RAT fail to inform me about the auctioning of my items, but they also neglected to provide any opportunity for me to retrieve them. This lack of communication and transparency is inexcusable, especially considering the emotional and personal significance of the items they callously discarded.The fact that my military uniforms were among the items auctioned off is particularly distressing. These uniforms represent the pride and honor I felt while serving my country. They are a symbol of the sacrifices made by countless veterans, and their mishandling by 1-800-PACK-RAT is an insult to all who have served.On a day like Veterans Day, it is particularly disheartening to witness such callous behavior. We got our pack rat container delivered on ***** and had to rush pack it over a weekend to have it picked up on a Monday to have it guaranteed here on 11/2. We arrived at our destination and found out that our container is still in ***** and wont be arriving until 11/09. We had to drive with a car packed to the brim with stuff that we couldnt put in the container. And they were more expensive than PODS. I wouldnt recommend them.1-800-PACK-RAT, LLC

I sat this move up for my 85 year old mother and this is what they did.Packrats is a horrible company, do yourself a favor and do not waste your time or money with this place. they quote one price then add service charges on after they pick up the pod, I asked for a total price and after the pod was on its way they hit me with a extra $743.58 charge. tried to call them back to find out what happend, I was told the extra cost was for fuel and that the total price did not cover the first month rental even asking multiple times for a total cost from start to finish. Don't use this company they say one thing and then do anther As for the phone customer service it is horrible as well. first time i called in the lady that answered the phone told me that the extra cost was fuel and a month rental of the pod, even though the monthly rent was in the original quote. i ask to speak with a manger and was placed on hold for over 30 minutes then hang up on. calling back and finally they did cut the fuel cost up charge, but still insisted that they would do nothing about the rental charge add on. Obviously i should have taking my time and read some reviews seem like this is their business model..1-800-PACK-RAT, LLC

NEVER AGAIN! this has been a nightmare. quick to deliver the pod but not easy to get it picked up and delivered to final LOCAL destination. I had to wait one week for my delivery which contained my entire apt. I was on hold for one hour to get it scheduled, their website did not allow me to schedule delivery. ******* I spoke with put me on hold for additional help and I was on hold for another hour before I gave up and starting all over again. What I paid for this would have been half the price with a moving company. I rushed and did not do my research. ****** learned - will never use them again and will warn everyone I know.1-800-PACK-RAT, LLC

If I could give negitive stars, I would!I'm very unhappy with the company and the way it does business. The call center's employees have no sense of urgency or understanding of what good communication looks like, or what it is like to move a disabled elderly person across the country. They did not attempt to address my concerns until I became frustrated and angry with the call center employees and began to raise my voice out of frustration. The container was not dropped off or picked up on the days they were scheduled. When I called the call center, they were repeatedly unable to reach the transportation center in ********, ** to find out the reasons why, and claimed they attempted to email them several times, receiving no response. The lack of communication and customer service we received when calling to try and straighten out the issues were horrific, and we were offered nothing to ease our concerns until I became irate with the individual on the other end of the phone and asked to speak with a supervisor. I should never have to raise my voice to get a company to follow through with their service agreement. Now, I've been charged fees for the company's errors, and I want them to honor the agreement to move my mother for the $3100.00 they quoted me and refund the fees that I was overcharged, in the amount of $815.62 due to their errors and issues. They also added something called a fuel subsidy and repositioning charge.1-800-PACK-RAT, LLC

When I booked with Pack Rat, I specifically asked if the price they quoted me was the "all in" price. I was assured that it was. Since they record these calls, they will have a record of this conversation. Today when I checked my credit card statement, I was charged $728 above that quoted "all in" price. It was for a hidden, gas surcharge fee. Needless to say, I was very upset and felt deceived by the salesperson who never once mentioned this fee. They had already picked up my container so there's not much I could do. I finally got through to customer service and they said I agreed to the charge when I signed the paperwork. The fee is hidden in the multi-page document. After asking to speak to a supervisor, they offered me a 50% refund which I accepted. It should have been 100%. It still bothers me, and I feel taken advantage of. I am retired and $364 is a lot of money. We'll see how the move goes. The container itself was nice and the mover was extremely cordial. If you decide to use them, make sure you are aware of the hidden gas surcharge fee. They probably won't mention it to you unless you ask.
