      I will not submit any stars. Do not deserve any. This company is stealing peoples money. I am a senior citizen, limited budget. I was given a specific amount for rental pod. At the end of rental, they overcharged my bank account. I have contacted several times, and each time it was to be taken off. HAS NOT AND WAS NOT!!! THIEVES

      (Already in the process of filing lawsuit in small claims court) Was quoted ****, and was charged **** dollars. I asked my sales rep on 3 different occasions if the **** was the total charge with no extra charges. Of course I get lied to. I asked because I read these BBB reviews beforehand so I was very upfront on if there was extra charges. My brother used **** pack rats, and had a good experience which is why I went with them. I should have listened to these reviews

      I hired Pack-Rat to ship my belongings from ********** to *******, **. I had a scheduled delivery date for the full container on August 19, 2023. Wrong container was delivered with a different code than the one we loaded our stuffs. I notified the driver, and the driver admittedly confirmed it was wrongly picked up, and that he will go back to the warehouse to "grab" the correct container. Hours went by, the driver did not call back, so I called his number, just to be told that the "manager" is still looking for my container. The driver also told me that the manager will call me back, but no phone-calls ever made. I had ordered a help service to aid this moving transition which costed me $200 out of pocket for the day, for no work. I, then, called 1800packrat to notify the issue. I was told that the warehouse is looking into it, and was guaranteed that the container would be delivered by Monday 8/21/23. I, then, ordered another help service on Monday which is another $200 out of pocket. By the way, I had no beds to sleep in, no furniture, nothing for the past couple of days. Today, 8/21/23, I called back the driver to the same number, but he did not pick up. I called 1800packrat several times notified them of the situation. I was told that the issue has been escalated and a manager will call back to inform updates. No calls ever made. Each attempt to call takes more than an hour of waiting. It is infuriating to waste time and money (2 x$200 for moving services for no work, plus the money spent on beds other furniture and dinnerware, etc. as we continue to live out of our suitcase at our new residence.

      I'm absolutely DISGUSTED with PackRat! I'm trying to sell my house which is already a stressful enough project. Add on the fact that I sadly don't have the luxury of a work schedule, so I had to sacrifice two days of mine to plan on getting this PackRat container delivered and packed. I scheduled my delivery over a week and a half in advance for Saturday, August 19th 2023, and spent the entire day trying to get in contact with someone to see when I could expect the delivery. Finally, at 5:30pm, I got in contact with someone who contacted the facility and was told my delivery had been postponed. DID NO ONE PLAN ON TELLING ME?!?! And the best this "manager" could do was waive the $89 delivery fee for a container that's costing me well over $300 at the start. I'm completely beside myself. I recommend everyone to AVOID this company to spare yourself the additional stress! What a shame.

      I started my long distance move by getting quotes from several moving companies. I settled on pack rat after they assured me that they could beat any quote that I received from other companies. The quote I received was for *****. They took a 500 dollar deposit to get the container dropped off. Then charged me **** for the shipping of the container, and another 340 for storage fees. This brings the grand total to ****. A lot more than my quote. Surely I thought it was a mistake but after making a phone call to customer support (which is insanely hard to get ahold of) they informed me that I must have missed my salesperson telling me about the storage fee and fuel surcharge, but they would be re listening to the call and could possibly refund me my money had the salesperson Miss informed me. They said someone would be reaching out in ***** hours. Fast forward a week and I make the call to them to figure out what's going on. They said the phone call was in their favor and refused to give me a transcript of that call. Essentially telling me there was nothing more they could do. I moved 6 months prior to this and used pods with no such problem. I was steer away from packrat if you don't like hidden fees and if you must use them make sure you have your lawyer look over the contractor before you sign.

      I would give NO stars if that was possible. We used two pods and still had to get a moving company to move the rest of our furniture. One shell arrived and was fine. The second one however looked like it had been tipped over then put back up right. Boxes and furniture was all over the place. The persons hired locally to unload it were astonished at how bad it looked. This unloaded told me he had 30 years in the business and he never saw a moving container packed so poorly. Heavy furniture was placed in the wrong positions in the pod which caused it to fall over onto other furniture. We did an estimate of the damage and it totaled over ******** we filed a claim. We had to wait several months to hear anything. When we did, our claim was denied. I wrote back and wanted a clearer explanation. They emailed me again and said that after an extensive investigation they have determined that they are not liable. That the damage was due to us not packing our items properly. I used packaging blankets and shrink wrapped the furniture. Some of our items we can't even put back together because the hardware is missing. It is very clear to me that customer satisfaction is not their top priority. Not once did anyone reach out to us to speak about our issues. Not once did a claims adjuster come to our home to view the items. Yet this was an extensive investigation. They have yet to produce this investigation to us yet I have requested it. I told them I would contact the bbb if we were not dealt with fairly. I kept my word. I will never use them in the future.

      The 1-800-PACK-RAT **************** department was contacted regarding the determination made on the customers claim. Their team confirmed that not enough evidence was found to support our loading crews were at fault for the damaged property during the investigation. Although the customer provided some protective materials, the loading team advised that the customer did not provide enough. Additionally, there was no proof of mishandling or any accidents involving the customers unit reported while in transit. While we apologize for the customers experience, we cannot accept liability damages incurred. The customer was contacted, and the reason for our decision was explained.       I hired Pack-Rat to ship my belongings from ****** to *********. I had a scheduled pick up date for the full container on July 29, 2023. It was not picked up and I was not notified that it would not be picked up. I had to cancel hotel and airline reservations because of this. I had a call from Pack Rat on Monday morning July 31, 2023 and was guaranteed that my container would be picked up that afternoon. Again no one showed and no one called to tell me it would not be picked up. The container was picked up the next day Tuesday July 31, 2023 with only a 30 minute notice.The pod was to travel right away to ********* and not held in ******. I had a scheduled delivery date in ********* on August 10, 2023. At 7 am PDT on that day, I received a call from a dispatcher (*************). He told me that my pod would not be delivered today because the wrong pod was sent from ****** to ********* and he was just informed of that this morning. I asked him for an estimate of delivery, whether it would be 1, 2, 3 weeks or longer. He could not answer this and said he would keep in touch and agreed to call me with an update the evening of August 10, 2023. I asked him to have someone at the ****** facility take a digital photo of my pod in their facility, including the container number and a photo of the lock I put on the door, and send it to me. I don't trust that I am getting a true story of what is happening, therefore I asked for photographic proof that my pod was now where they say it was and that it was still intact. I continue to live out of a suitcase at my new residence; no bed, furniture, etc.

      I was thoroughly displeased with my experience, as the company made mistakes frequently and was difficult to work with over customer service. They dropped off ******* at my old address with the door facing the wrong direction. Then I paid extra to reserve an AM delivery time at my new address, and the driver showed up at 7:30pm. Then they were late picking up the empty pod. Then on top of it all, I was not sent a receipt. I called to ask for one and they said it takes 2-5 business days to process a receipt. I fail to understand why something that most businesses can print instantaneously must be processed over the course of several days.

      Every experience with this company was worse. When the pod was delivered in ****** was beat up, full of holes. I was told that the long-distance got the beat up ones & the local got the nice ones. They finally delivered a nice one. Then there was the delivery in PA. The 1st guy either had a broken truck or he didnt know how to operate the truck he had. He could not get it loaded off the truck & multiple times almost dumped it in the driveway. Then the guy who came to pick up the pod was just as bad. He did not give the one hour call that he was supposed to give. He called when he was at my house. What if I had gone shopping or for some other reason was not here? I had not finished unloading. I had not moved my car. I was in such a rush that I forgot and left my AirTag in the pod. He could not figure out how to back up an empty truck into my driveway. He tried multiple times, and it just got worse & worse until he ****** off everybody on the street. When I realized my AirTag was still in the ******** was still in *********, **, I called 1 800 Pack Rat. She told me to go to ********* and get my AirTag. I drove almost 2 hours there & encountered the most disorganized, chaotic, unprofessional place I have ever been. Lots of people standing around & nobody knowing what was going on. The parking lot was full of angry drivers who were all trying to locate pods by just wandering around the property looking for numbers. When I asked about my pod, we did the same thing. We wandered all over the lot & the building, looking at the number on every single pod. How can they not know where anything is? Why were semi drivers wandering around looking for pods themselves? Everyone there was angry. Then I found out that my pod has been rented with my AirTag still in it, it was a 2 Hour drive for nothing and then a 2 Hour drive home. If you are moving in western **, do not use this company because your ********** possessions will end up at that horrible disorganized place.

      Was charged over $6000 for a cross country move, however, when you figure in extra expenses....and time off work due to their lack of communication.....it may not be a good value.We were to receive our container yesterday (7/29/23),called in the morning to get a time estimate , informed it will arrive between 3-7pm. driver will call 1 hour before.I hired movers to help.It was getting to be 6:30, and no call. attempted to call PackRat numerous times, placed on the que each time. checked my account on the website, saw delivery date changed to 7/30/23. No call, no email informing me.Tried calling again, que again for 2 hours. called again but acted as a new customer and sure enough they picked up after 2 minutes The man ***** who answered, stated there was not much he could do as he is not authorized in that department, but did obtain all our info and sent a message to several departments alerting them to the issue. 1 day later...******, a supervisor, called to inform me the container was rescheduled to today due to *****'s email.He stated there was nothing he could do about communication as that was the facility...I pointed out the fact that the facility is part of PackRat and I should have been contacted. Stating there was nothing PackRat could have done is simply Not True. On top of this, I was being charged $25 due to a change in pick up for the container.For all this, we still do not have our belongings...."scheduled" today ....8am to 10 pm delivery (currently noonish).****** stated he would remove some $ off of fuel charge, which doesn't even cover the cost of our movers. He then suggested I just reschedule them for Monday....(so take time off work, and try to schedule movers...as my workers had to go to their regular job)PackRat prides themselves on good customer service...... could not even communicate a change in schedule.They pick up the phone to take in more customers and charge them, but existing customers are ignored over and over again.
