Avoid Packrat containers moving company. Move will not occur without delays, extra costs and extraordinary wait times (45 min per phone call). They were the middle priced one (zippy line(same company), pods) , and (drop off, pick up, delivery and empty pick up) dates were arranged one month out. All phone calls are routed through very nice people at home in the south with no information. They even say that they have warehouse manager contact info and nothing else. Secondary phones are not called. Calls are unidentifiable and no caller id. Its a stressful time to begin with and then to add an undependable moving container company makes moving even worse. Ill go with Penske or abf next time.1-800-PACK-RAT, LLC

I recently had the misfortune of hiring 1800-PackRat for my move, and I cannot stress enough how appalling their service was. From start to finish, they managed to make what should have been a simple moving process an absolute nightmare. I implore anyone considering their services to look elsewhere, as 1800-PackRat is a prime example of how not to run a moving company.First and foremost, their customer service was abysmal. Whenever I called with inquiries or concerns, I was met with rude and unhelpful representatives who seemed disinterested in providing any assistance. It felt as though they had no regard for the stress and anxiety associated with moving, and their lack of professionalism was evident in every interaction.But that's not all. 1800-PackRat's true colors came shining through when they conveniently decided to inform me about additional charges only 24 hours before my scheduled move. Hidden charges, mind you, that was not disclosed during the initial booking process. It was a shock to learn that I would have to pay extra for services I had assumed were included. This blatant disregard for transparency is not only deceitful but also an insult to customers who entrust their belongings to this company.Overall, my experience with 1800-PackRat was a complete disaster. Their horrible customer service, hidden charges of over $1000, and careless movers have left me with a sour taste in my mouth. Don't call them! Their prices are on the high end, they won't deliver or pick up on time, they don't communicate with you when they fail to deliver/pickup (no call, no email), and the compensation they offer per day of failed service is paltry compared to the cost ($50/day compared to a $4K total cost). Expect multiple day delays on each drop-off, pick up, travel across country, drop off at new location, and final pickup. They promise certain days when you place the order, but they do not honor them.Other stuff. 1. Be aware all these businesses operate like used car salespeople. They will sweet talk you, offer random discounts, and trash talk the competition. Very uncomfortable. 2. Think about how you will live for weeks without all the stuff you have packed in the container, and with no certainty on drop off and pick up times. 3. Buy packing material to secure your stuff in the container. I recommend stretch wrap.The only good parts were the drop off driver was great and very helpful, and the container itself was sturdy and secure.1-800-PACK-RAT, LLC

They are the worst! Paid extra for an AM delivery. It did not show in the AM so I called was assured the driver was going to call me and they graciously gave me the extra for the AM delivery back. Well called again and they are not even coming at all. So here sits all my items in the pouring rain! They do NOT care that I took off work and waited and hired people to move these items so they could be placed into the container as soon as it arrived. They told me to go put a tarp over it. They had my phone number they NEVER called me to even say they were having problems now they say it will be delivered tomorrow. BEWARE!!!!!1-800-PACK-RAT, LLC

This company is a nightmare to work with. Hold times for customer service are so bad you have to request a callback which can be up to 3 hours. And when you finally talk to someone (eight times) I've been repeatedly LIED to. If you log a message online there is never a response. The last call promised pickup and offered a $50 credit... which again was a lie and an insult.The container scheduled to move on 6/8 didn't happen until 6/10. The final pickup scheduled 6/14 is still sitting in my driveway blocking the garage access as of 6/21.I've got a horrible feeling this container will never be picked up or I'll have to have it towed myself. I have moved across the country multiple times with multiple moving companies and this is by far the worst.I spent what felt like hours confirming my move with representatives over the phone because they kept typing in the wrong information into their system. On the day of my move, we found out they actually couldnt drop the container off and pick it up the same day, which is what was promised and in fact why we signed a contract with Zippy. 3 days and multiple phone calls later, I then had to pay extra for Zippy movers in order to get that done. The movers they sent literally threw my belongings into the pod, so I have little hope my stuff will arrive intact. I also had to eliminate a stop on my move, which should decrease my overall cost. I have waited a week for Zippy to call back to discuss the move and as well as price adjustments. When I call, I get told the manager will call tomorrow and he never does. My container was supposed to arrive at my destination on June 23 (**** business days from pick up) and now they have no idea when my container will be there. Do not hire this company for your move and do not be fooled by the **** pack rat affiliation. youre better off driving a uhaul across the country yourself.1-800-PACK-RAT, LLC

In April, I booked a container to arrive on June 16, 2023. Two days prior, I received several emails, reminding me that my container would be arriving. On the day of arrival, my husband stayed home, waiting for the container. When he had not heard anything that afternoon, he called Pack Rat, and was told not to worry, the container was coming. The container did not arrive as scheduled. When I called today to inquiry about this, I was told that the truck used to move the container was in the shop. I should have been informed sooner , so that I could make other arrangements!!!! My review is 0 stars.1-800-PACK-RAT, LLC

So I booked 2 containers to arrive today. I missed a phone call at 6:45am (!) and text at 7:25am saying they would deliver at 7:25am. Who knew they even delivered that early - no phone call the day before to give me a heads up to expect early morning calls on a Saturday no less. I called and texted the number left by the driver about a dozen times and no response. I called customer service 4 times and they said they could not help me. First they said, it looks scheduled in the computer. Then I got an email at noon from a representative saying that it looks like they "skipped me." I had to call again to clarify what that meant. Basically they said I had to reschedule - I had movers scheduled for the next day! On the last call I said since I didn't get my container I wanted to cancel.. she says sure! But when I asked if there was a fee, she said, oh yes, you get charged $250 to cancel within 5 days. I was livid - I said for what - you they didn't provide the service - not as if I'm canceling on a whim. I was cancelling because I just couldn't reschedule (we are doing a lost distance move with a time line). She then transfers me to a manager - ****. He proceeds to tell me the driver has a 1 hour window to call me and therefore it's on me for canceling. When I pointed out I was told to expect delivery 8am to 10pm, he said the driver has 1 hour to call. When I pointed out the driver called at 6:45am, he said, "well that was only 15 mins earlier." I tried various other arguments but he would not budge. So I said, go ahead, charge me and I'll dispute it. No sympathy at all for my blown up day - I had 2 panic attacks over this. No sympathy for my movers who were depending on the work and whom I had to cancel on at 4pm in the afternoon the day before. Unbelievable. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY. We are now doing the move ourselves with a 26 ft Penske truck.1-800-PACK-RAT, LLC

W started communicating with Pack Rat in December 2022 to inquire about the services being offered at the time and finally scheduled something for February 2023. The driver that came to drop off the Pod didn't know how to park and called the office to state this and attempted to cancel. I immediately called the office very frustrated and upset, and obviously couldn't afford to cancel because of other timelines we had to meet especially with moving from ******** to **************. So after speaking with the person in the office, I was reassured that the driver would be leaving the Pod. Fast forward to today, we currently are in the process of closing on our future home and paying storage monthly. I was ok with the quoted price but to my surprise, the new payment amount was increased without any notice via email, mail, or phone. I am again getting frustrated and upset that Pack Rat, and per the Rep ******** who sounded like she was eating and being argumentative while communicating with me, tried explaining; I was told the amount was going to change in my contract, and as I explained to her just like other storage companies like U-Haul; who we also use gave ** a 30-day notice in advance of any price increases. This company needs to train across the entire organization and not just place bodies in these "CUSTOMER SERVICE" positions when dealing with real-life people who are paying for you to stay employed. This will be our last time using this service, and we will not share their number with anyone we know. Let this review be helpful for anyone considering using their services.1-800-PACK-RAT, LLC
