  This is the second time I have used Pack Rat for a move. They were extremely helpful in the delivery to my home and then very accommodating when I asked them to move the unit to our new home. It necessitated the driver having to unload and turn the unit around to face the other direction and did so with absolutely nothing but professionalism in performance and attitude. The cost has been lower than their competitors and I have been very pleased. I would use them again and I would recommend them to others. *********** ** group has been great. ***************

  I used 1-800-Pack-Rat to move from ******** to *******. The entire process was seamless from start to finish and I can certainly recommend Pack Rat based on my experience. My move schedule was very fluid and at the time I didn't have my new address. Pack Rat stored my container at their warehouse facility near my original location for about 2 months. Once I finalized my new destination address, the container was moved from ******** to *******. Using the Pack Rat customer portal, I was able to schedule and reschedule my drop off and pick up dates on both ends with no issue. This was very helpful since my move dates kept changing. The drop off and pick up on both ends occurred exactly as requested and the drivers were very professional and helpful. There was great communication from the Pack Rat customer service staff throughout the process with drop off and pick up confirmation calls. Pack Rat did a wonderful job on my move.

  This process has been bumpy to say the least. The upside is that customer service has been very friendly, but ultimately dont choose Pack Rat moving because of that. Ive had two major issues so far, and the container hasnt even reached my destination yet.First, when I received the quote, the customer support person gave me a quote that included a rental rate for the container and the transportation cost. It was higher than competitors (although $100 lower than a higher rated competitor), but I felt reassured by how friendly he was and, more importantly, because he had said this price is all inclusive (including tax), so there arent any hidden fees or changes to what you pay. The price that he provided was the price I would pay, he told me but you need to provide your card info to reserve your price as it is subject to change. That was not true, as I was charged nearly $200 more later on (for their smallest container) for additional gas (is that not already in the $2.3k+ Im paying?!).Second, getting the container picked up has been an extreme hassle and without clear (any?) communication. The container was supposed to be picked up on 4/31, while I would be in town. When it wasnt and I hadnt been notified (the number for the drivers voicemail box was full), I called and was told it would be picked up the next day (the day I would be leaving). I called on the 1st to check in. Then it was supposed to be picked up on 4/3, but it wasnt. When I called, a rep said that they would contact the driver to figure out what was going on and follow-up with me. They never did follow up with me. Luckily, it was finally picked this morning, although I hadnt been contacted by the driver. Each time, I had to call to figure out what was going on, which is even worse when youve left all your items in a container on the street in a city youre no longer in. Now, I just get to wonder if it will arrive at the scheduled time to my destination.

  When I moved to the mountains of North ******* I used PODS and what an ordeal! They put the unit down the mountain because they couldn't get it in the slanted driveway. My movers had to carry all of my furniture up a hill about 100 feet. When I moved away they said they no longer provided service to my area. I couldn't believe it. It was only 3 months later. I was so pleased with 1800packrats. They were pleasant, didn't overcharge me, put the unit right in the driveway. Didnt have a single problem with them. They showed up when they said they would, did a professional job, were efficient and were completely transparent about the costs. When their prices were higher than PODS, they matched the price. I will be using them in the future and encouraging my friends to use them as well.

  From the first call with ********, I knew this company was special by the way she stood behind the fact that they could get the job done. We lived in a very tough place for movers, as no truck (other than a 14’ *****l) could get to our house, and when I was told that the 12’ containers could not be used for long distance, I didn’t believe they could get a 16’ container in our driveway, but ******** was very persistent about the company’s drivers abilities, and I finally gave in. I expected the driver to show up and go “no way we can get this container in there” …. but after several minutes of backing up and reorienting the container he actually did it! We were unbelievably impressed.
  We eventually needed three 16’ containers to accomplish our move, and every time we called, they said “no problem”, and were very polite and knew the business well. I wish I could remember everyone’s names, but from ********, ****, ******, ****i, ********, *****, and many others. Everyone in this company is on the same page, and very good at their jobs.
  We have never used a moving company, always did it ourselves, and 1-800-PACK-RAT allowed us to do a 2500 mile move our way. Everything showed up in perfect condition, just the way we packed and locked the containers with our locks.
  If you are like us, this is the only call you need to make as they literally “can deliver”.

  We had a great experience with Pack Rat. Both Pick up and drop off containers were delivered on time with no issues, All the drivers were very knowledgeable and experienced, and knew what they were doing. In addition to being courteous and helpful. Our container was stored in their facility for 1 month while we prepared our new living quarters. I did have to call the main office a couple of times to change dates and times and the office personnel were very helpful and friendly.
  I felt a great customer experience with the whole transaction. I checked all the other options for moving and they were definitely my 1st choice with a fair price. **** *****

  Moved from ** to **. Great customer service when I made first call to get quote, negotiate a discount and book the service. I appreciated the online access to our account throughout process. They were flexible with drop off and pick up date and met our needs. Driver called ahead before dropping off container to make sure he placed it correctly. Container was great condition and we appreciated the provided lock and key (other service I considered doesn't provide). Loaded container picked up after a call ahead from driver on date promised. Our contents arrived on date promised (10 days after pick up date) and driver placed the container where we needed it (we moved to apartment and needed container out of the way in the parking lot). Contents arrived undamaged. Empty container picked up as promised. No snags, no hassles and they beat the "other guy's" price. Customer service and drivers were great.

  We are a heating and air and crawlspace company who ordered a local delivery of a mobile storage unit for a customer to have belongings put into while we did some work. Delivery was done when we agreed, pickup was done when we agreed, and it was easy to get a person on the phone for service. The pricing was up front and easy to understand, and we had a great experience.

  used the to load up a shipping container while i made the move about 45 min away they really helped me take my time and pack up at my own pace and moved the container on the days i needed and with extra care at less than half the price of their competitor ****.   We needed to do an across-half-the-country move for our son (CA to MO). PackRat's quote came in far less than a popular competitor's, so we made arrangements with them. Since I tend to have very low expectations and am rather pessimistic, particularly when it comes to customer service, I figured something would go wrong somewhere along the line. Amazingly, it did not! They delivered the empty pod when expected, explained how to load it, picked it up on time, delivered it in MO on the day we arranged, and picked up the empty one on its scheduled day. Everyone to whom we spoke--both office workers and truck drivers--was pleasant, courteous and helpful, even when we needed to change our initial delivery/pickup dates. AND, when we left a missed item in the pod, PackRat even sent someone to check out the pod days later to see if the item was still there and actually followed through by contacting me with the answer (sadly, they did not find it, but it was our fault for missing it). Not sure why their rating is so low, but we had an excellent experience with them and were very pleased with their service and customer care. I recommend them!
