      Cancelled my move less than 24 hours before it because they couldn't get any movers. This appointment was set up month+ ago. Got numerous responses from numerous people that "logistics" would call with updates. Shockingly never received that call from the 3 people who promised it.
      The best they can do? Two days. They can't get movers sooner for an appointment they cancelled by email less then 24 hours ahead of time. An appointment they convinced me to book just a few days before closing instead a week+ prior. They should be paying a crew triple time for their mistake to get them out ASAP. But no, you have to pay for their mistake. They won't do anything and just delay with promises of callbacks that will never come.
      I ignored all of the bad reviews. I assumed those were the noisy outliers. Learn from my mistake. They are not the outliers. They are a terrible company that will do the bare minimum for your move and do nothing to go above and beyond if something goes wrong.
      Hopefully the new owners don't mind all my stuff in the house after closing.

      DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I moved (or TRIED) to Arizona in November 2022. As of today, I still Have not received my unit! After calling on Dec 2nd, I was told it would arrive Dec 17th. On Dec 14th I received a billing email which prompted me to call their main line (only phone # you will ever find) and during the call discovered my unit NEVER left the east coast!! 12 days in!!! NO ONE FROM PACKRAT EVER CALLED TO LET ME KNOW!! After lots of yelling and talking to multiple customer service people, I was told it was leaving for transport on Friday, Dec 16th and would be here Dec 21st. Received a phone call this morning (3 days after it should have left) and was told it still is sitting in storage on the east coast!! Will not be delivered (maybe) until Dec 27th. No Christmas for us this year!!!
      BTW, my queen bedroom is in that unit soooo....we are sleeping on an air mattress on the floor. No furniture, no pots, pans, no TV's, etc. Literally, only the clothes on our backs and what ever we could fit in our car! PackRat just seems to shrug their shoulders and tell me things happen?!
      Did I mention they went ahead on Dec 5th and charged my credit card for $4600+?? For what? To hold my things hostage?

      Follow up to previous complaint. Yes I did receive a phone call from the "Social Media/Public relations" department on Dec 22 (after posting my complaint on the 19th of Dec). That person told me she was responding to my complaint. She still had no update but did confirm the container has not left ****** ****, NJ. Again, apologies, apologies are getting me nowhere! My husband and I continued to sleep on an air mattress in an empty apartment.
      I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM THEM SINCE! They do not care since they have been paid in full almost a month ago! I don't know if my container will ever make it to *******. Christmas did not happen here although I'm sure PACKRATE employees all had a lovely long holiday weekend in real beds! To make matters worse, several months ago I was diagnosed with Kidney cancer and had my right kidney removed along with the tumor attached. Sleeping on an air mattress on the floor is not the best recovery plan!

      BEWARE!!!! They withheld my last 2 shipping containers until I agreed to pay them substantially more per mile than the first half of my move. Also, I paid for insurance for an entire year and only 1 container out of 4 had damaged items. When I submitted the claim, they held it for over 90 days. When I would ask for updates, they kept telling me that it was in the legal department for review. Finally, they denied any responsibility with no recourse to have my damaged items reimbursed. Do not trust them, do not buy the insurance thinking it is protection. Terrible company who never answers the phone or hangs up on you after hours on hold. Would NEVER USE THEM AGAIN. If I could give them 0 stars, I would.

      1-800-PACK-RAT apologizes for your experience. The corporate claims department was contacted regarding your review. Their team confirmed a thorough claims investigation was completed. Based on the investigation results, it was determined that the damages incurred to your belongings were consistent with improper packing and normal shifting in transit. Unfortunately, since the 1-800-Pack-Rat staff did not assist with packing and loading your container, we cannot verify how secure your contents were before transit. For this reason, we cannot accept liability for your loss. However, 1-800-PACK-RAT appreciates the feedback and will be sure to consider it as we work towards providing a better customer experience.

      My response to Pat Rack is as follows: 1) We used movers recommended by them who packed all 4 shipping containers 2) There was only damage to 1 container, leading us to believe it was damaged by PackRat during the process 2) They conducted an internal investigation and never contacted me, asked questions or viewed the damage 3) We were told when we bought the insurance that it covered damage and we were never given the insurance policy 4) there is no appeal process to their internal investigation - they simply reject the claim
      The above, in addition to their questionable business practices of charging more to get your items back from storage, need to be investigated by an independent third party and not solely PackRat who doesn't want to pay for the damage they caused.

      I decided to go with Zippy everything went okay until I tried to get them to come 2 days later then everything went to hell the operator said there might be a fee so I told him to call me what the fee was well he never called and all he had to do was be honest and saying we don't know when we will be at your door I have begged them to come to my house and 2 or 3 supervisors said they would be here but there all liars they want to come when they want ,so tonight I called and cancelled and this so called supervisor said he didn't care when they came and going to charge 299 canceling fee well I will dispute this till hell freezes over

      We had a great experience with Pack Rat, moving from ** to **. Only one small hiccup on the Virginia end which they remedied (brought the unit facing the opposite direction desired). On the ** end, things went completely smoothly. The inter-state transfer was on schedule, the delivery was on time, facing the right direction, and conveniently placed on our driveway. This was all due to the thoughtfulness of the drop-off driver, because we were not there on the day of delivery. VERY much appreciated. Pick up was on time. I had heard some negative things about Pack Rat's major competitor, so decided to try this lesser known company, and do not regret it! The customer service at Pack Rat was great when I called - from the initial reservation to some adjustments we needed to do along the way.

      1-800-Pack-Rat was a good choice for our move from ** to **. The 16' container was perfect for our move, their size estimator was very helpful. Our new home has a very steep drive up a mountain-side, we knew we didn't want to drive a moving truck ourselves, the Packrat driver did a good job negotiating up and down both times. All the drivers in ** and ** were very friendly and courteous, as were the customer service people when I called. I would use 1-800-Pack-Rat again and would recommend it to others.
      The website could use an improvement to the tracking of the container. We could not tell from the tracking page if the container has left **, it was only updated once it arrived at the destination facility.

      We had a great experience with 1-800-PACK-RAT! Our sales person, ********, was amazing. She was so helpful in getting us scheduled during our very stressful move. Only issue we had is that we underestimated how much space we needed and had 2 16’ container completely full with leftover items from our 4 bedroom house to go in our vehicles. I would highly recommend using them and will definitely use them again if we move.

      Pack Rat arranged a storage container shipped to our driveway without any issue. When we requested the container to be picked up, because the schedule of the driver not available for immediate pick up. The operator on the phone requested us to be on the "No payment" list so that we didn't get charge for the days we were waiting for the driver to come pick up the container. The service was very smooth and we had a great experience.

      1-800-Pack-Rat far exceeded our expectations. The phone staff was very helpful and friendly. They never rushed us for a decision and patiently answered all our questions. The drivers were friendly and respectful, calling us several times to keep us informed of their timing. The Pod was clean and in very good condition. Our belongings arrived safely just as we packed them with no damage at all. The financial part of the process also went smoothly as planned. We were extremely happy with the entire experience using this service and would use them again if needed. We also highly recommend them to our friends who are planning a move.
