Your system is down and going through maintainence more than its up. I cant get on to pay my student loans and they end up being late. Why cant this maintenance be done at the middle of themonth i stead of when loams are due? Are you trying to get more money out of people by being able to charge late fees then?

I can't figure out how to pay my loans without giving direct access to my bank account. There's no app, no communication for when my loans actually came due from "in process" after moving great lakes over to nelnet servicing. When I tried to login to check on the status, since I hadn't received an email with an update, I couldn't log in anymore. Jumped through all the hoops to change my PW and then it wouldn't let me login unless I downloaded some other phishy looking program. I had to call in, go through more hoops, change my password again on an actual computer, not a tablet or phone... 100% not giving this company access to my bank account. Get another payment option, or don't get paid. How is this even a company in 2024 with such rudimentary and scammy options, let alone one that is partnering with the US Government. I do NOT trust it. Pretty upset the government gave them my information to begin with. They don't get anything more.

I've sent countless emails, wasted hours and hours on hold only to get disconnected, it is IMPOSSIBLE to receive any sort of customer service. It's non-existent. Yet SOMEHOW they can find time to make abundant collections calls and emails. The cherry on top is that these calls are completely ERRONEOUS. My account is in forebarence until May 2024, yet the Nelnet portal says I'm $700+ past due. But can I talk to anyone about it, absolutely not. The cowards at Nelnet hide behind the excuse of unprecedented call volumes. Those call volumes must not impact collections though, right. NELNET IS CRIMINAL!

I have tried since October 2023 (5 months) to get an IDR plan in place. I have submitted required paperwork on 3 different occasions-I have called and after waiting HOURS to speak to someone- followed her directions only to receive another email with the IDR again DENIED due to needing more information- the same info I keep resubmitting via mail and email- all while getting emails requesting over $700/month!!! My loans have been sold out to other companies but NelNet is the worst!!

My husband has been waiting for 6 months for nelnet to switch him over to the SAVE plan. Every time he calls they tell him it’ll be another 2 weeks and every month he calls them back and they do nothing. They are clearly dragging out this process as long as possible because they are not incentivized to accept the plan since they lose money with interest forgiveness.

Was never offered the student loan forgiveness. Paid all my payments on time. When asked about student loan forgiveness, I was told TOO BAD! I have been in public service with federal government for 10 plus years (made my payments for 10 plus years) and no student loan forgiveness for me. The worst student loan servicing.

I signed up for a parent plus loan and the original amount of $3500 was paid off by the end of 12/2023. I then needed to increase the amount of the parent loan for Spring semester. I login to make a payment about 3 weeks later and see that they have the additional parent loan that was taken plus they have added back the $3500 I have already paid. I have my receipts and have called them twice to get this fixed. The reps can see that I paid that loan because I have the dates and the amount paid but for some odd reason I keep getting the run around. This company shouldn’t even be in business they are a scam.

Woke up this morning to find an automatic payment was pulled from my account without my authorization. 6 months ago I signed up for like income adjusted payments. Never received anything on any of that information. Never gave them my banking information. As far as I'm concerned this is theft I never provided authorization for that auto pay or for access to my bank account

Horrible service. Loans were transferred to them. They have not responded to me once. I have e-mailed, sent messages through the website and nothing. No one answers the phone. I put in a request to defer a month's payment and never heard back.

Nelnet is purposely taking a long time to process a payment so they can collect more interest. If you make a payment, they take the money out of your bank account, but it still does not process for over a week. So in the meantime, you have paid, it's withdrawn from your bank account, yet you receive emails saying you're past due and it doesn't reflect on your account. This is criminal and they should be held accountable for this.
