      I'm not being overly dramatic or hyperbolic here, but I will say Nelnet gave the absolute worst "customer" experience I've ever had in my life. It's not even regarding a payment discrepancy, but rather their inability to actually "work" with you despite their emphasis on, allegedly, being willing to work with you on making payment arrangements. No joke, I was on hold for over three hours, and had to have my call escalated twice to senior management and then higher management to attempt resolution to a situation that has yet to be taken care of. They do not follow through with their requests, they quote you different time frames for everything, and they will not consider the fact that they've inconvenienced you at all and instead just reemphasize that it's first come, first serve, and screw you if we were the ones that is making your experience difficult, not the other way around. I would leave a negative review if I could, because they're just that bad. Absolute garbage and truly atrocious, and I can't emphasize that enough. Good luck reaching anybody through any medium, and hope you don't work a day job during the week, otherwise it's impossible to get a hold of anybody, and don't hold your breath on getting any kind of response in a timely manner.

      I have been trying to contact Nelnet advisors over the phone for the past few days and I have been on hold for more than 3 hours each time with no one answering.

      Every time I have called NelNet, I have sat on hold for at least an hour. So far on today's call, I am at 2 hours and 39 minutes.
      Do they want me to pay my student loans or no...? If so, maybe they should consider investing in more customer service employees.

      This place is a disaster. Filed important forms and doctor sent one over. Want to make sure they got it and not one number ever gives you a person. I just need to ask a question and tell them one thing. That’s it. Always referred to their sites which are garbage. Nobody ever picks up it’s all automated junk and bad junk at that.
      The sites are not as bad as they’re useless, repetitive, insulting, poor excuses for telephone numbers but they’re bad. Emails are the same. Always returned with high volume automated bs. Nobody helps. How in the world am I to contact you about this highly urgent information?
      This place is an unhelpful stress inducing joke. I can see why there were lawsuits 3 years ago, but how did they become worse? If I get a heart attack from stress this place likely caused it.

      went to call about my loan as they started charging interest on my loan and requesting i make a payment while im still in school haven’t stopped at all. have sat on hold for 1hour and 48minutes without even an answer from a representative. Do better, would put a representative name but i never spoke with one.

      My student loans were transferred from Great Lakes to Nelnet. I have been trying to contact someone for 2 weeks to discuss payments. I may be eligible for student loan forgiveness, but I am unable to talk to a person to determine an affordable payment plan.
      I have tried calling and the last time, I was on hold for 2.5 hours. I have also tried to use the "autobot," but it could not understand my questions.
      I am now trying to send an email. My payments will start at the end of the month. I do not have the same access to loans as I had with Great Lakes. I was able to pick and choose what I wanted to pay and which loan, or standardized allocation of extra payment. My monthly payment has decreased and barely covers the monthly interest. I am trying to contact Nelnet, but I am unable to talk to a person. I was told I would not be eligible if I consolidated the loans. Looking online, everything says I must consolidate prior to applying for forgiveness.
      I'm not sure why I was transferred from great Lakes.
      Nelet had D+ rating and legal issues before taking on everyones student loans.

      Been on hold for close to 2 hours to try and correct an error that Nelnet made to my student loan repayment. This is after multiple attempts to use their recommended automated contact methods. Simply an awful organization from a customer service standpoint, with seemingly no accountability whatsoever. I'd give it 0 stars, but BBB won't let me.

      Waited on hold for 2 hours and 46 minutes. That is no exaggeration. Then was put back on hold for another 30 minutes. The end result of the call was a generic, ultimately useless, email explaining how interests rates are calculated. This was not even my question. The customer service is absolutely horrible at Nelnet. They are in business to make money. Period. They don't care or want to help you.
      Also, be prepared for them to just pawn off anything you don't like and blame it on the department of education. Nelnet is a nightmare and I am so saddened that I have to deal with this horrible company.

      First they changed my PAYE plan student loan payments by increasing monthly payment La after I was forced to use them as my new student loan servicer. But even worse since I applied for revaluation formally, sent multiple emails multiple ways and no response. The automated system for email advised to call. But I have to spend 20min to even get into waiting for a live representative. Yet I’ve stayed on the phone for 3rd before and still never answered my call. It never matters when you call it’s as ways the same. Which says they want to prevent you speaking to them and addressing errors that magically benefit them. Hard for them to justify any of it so they simply refuse to talk to you. I beg everyone stuck with them for loans needs to report this kind behavior so the government steps in and forces thing to be righted.

      If I could give them a zero, I would. Called five times already, been on hold over hour, still can't get a hold of anyone. Made a payment over a week ago. Status is in "pending." They won't answer calls, payment still in process over a week and interest still being charged on old balance.
