      If I could give it zero stars I would. We are expected to start repaying loans but their website is completely broken and inaccessible. Hold times with customer service over 2 HOURS? Nelnet is a complete disappointment and unfortunately people who are trying to do right by setting up repayments will get punished for it.

      Nelnet holds my student loans. Given that - and the fact that they are restarting this month - it is incredibly important to me to be able to reach someone there to discuss potential payment options. However, I have currently been on hold for 144 minutes. There’s not even an option for them to call me back.

      Nelnet’s customer service is horrible. I called their customer service line 3 times. On their website and automated system, it says their operator are available till 6 pm. I started to call at 5 pm. Then again at 5:15 and 5:23. All three times the system said they are closed and hung up on me.

      Loan got transfer was in the process of being discharge. They send paper over for the last of them and they dont have no record. Spend 2 hours on the phone with them. This company doesn't know what there doing. They like to lose things. They had to mail my discharge paper over that will take up to 2 weeks

      Nelnet is slow on processing payments and don't process payments on the weekends while student loans are still collecting interest. This is literally costing people money.

      They're not open the hours they say they're open on the phone, ex
      Closed at 8 et on Monday when they say they're available till 9 et on Monday. So, closing their call center at least an hour earlier than advertised online. Their website is not helpful for a customer who was transferred from Great Lakes. They are not answering emails to specific questions now besides a generically sent email saying due to high email volumes they can't answer specific email questions. I work in a customer service industry. This is terrible!

      Awful communication. I have tried calling 3 times at different times of day and I cannot get a hold of anyone within 30 minute wait time. The only reason I’m trying to contact them is because my login portal is telling me a different due date than the email communications they are sending me.

      Absolutely terrible. Switched over automatically from my Great Lakes. Called in June-July to update to a graduated plan for lower payments. Was quoted over phone for a decent monthly payment. Was told 48 hours would be effective. Payment was showing 160 dollars over quoted monthly payment cost. Never got a copy of the verbal agreement in messages or in writing. When I called in September the agreement was not what I agreed to. They couldn’t do anything other than getting me into an extended graduates plan. So I did that. Was advised my monthly payment would be at a certain amount. Will show in 48 hours. It’s been a week. I know they are backlogged but they messed up the first time. I haven’t a written or messaged agreement for either quote I accepted. Payments start in a half a month and it is over a hundred dollars more that what I can afford due to budget. Please do better if you are going to take on such a major task. My Great Lakes was amazing. I had my quote for a graduated plan locked in at a 230 dollar monthly payment but due to the takeover of my loan by nelnet it reset the process and nelnet has not been transparent. Even their employees on the phone are frustrated because my call at least took close to 4 hours. Great rep but she she was limited by a crappy system and calculators that are not correct. And a loan processing office that pretty much says oh well, figure it out. Pretty upset pretty terrible experience so far. If I could give 0 stars I would. Too bad 1 is as low as I can go.

      Unable to access my loans after they were acquired by this company. After waiting on hold for 40 minutes twice, I still can't pay my loans which are due in a few days. Their loan providers have my info, but can't help me access the account. I didn't have this issue with the previous company who was managing my loans. Clearly Nelnet isn't up for the task of managing accounts at this volume.
