My husband took out a two policy with this company and all they did was take our money for three months policy 1 was a whole life policy they first debit our account twice which I only authorized one debit to start the policy on top of debiting our account I also sent in a check that they cash out and then canceled our policy and refused to refund our money back. Second policy was to be paid quarterly they keep billing me every month in full for a quarterly payment when I called for customer service to go over my monthly payment I was told that what my payment should when I have a letter stating that my payment is quarterly every three months at the rate of 52.95 so far they received 5
Payments since July 3 of 2023 and they still didn’t send me a actual policy I called to inform them some one was going to investigate and get back to us they didn’t and when ahead and cancel our whole life only to send us a letter after the policy was canceled by them. This is the worst insurance company I ever dealt with they are fraud they take your money and don’t stand behind their policy and agreement.Mutual of Omaha

The insurance agent nonresponsive to my cancelation request after several calls to customer service and sales. Customer service promised me that loan would be cancelled and written information to that effect would be mailed to me. However the only thing i received was an insurance policy sent via certified mail.Mutual of Omaha

One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. I was approved for short term disability back in September,. The representative Katie that has been assigned to me never returns my calls. I have called multiple times and left multiple messages . I spoke to her supervisor and she was very condescending and short with me. when I previously spoke to the representative, I asked her if she needed any other additional information from me and she said no then today I get a letter saying we sent you a letter on 10/16/2023 requesting additional information and now we need that information in order to continue your short-term disabilty. I believe this is their way of prolonging my suffering, and because I complained she now what's to request additional information.. something the supervisor could’ve mentioned to me when I recently spoke with her. At this point, I don’t even want short-term disability payments. i’m not surprised that they have so many complaints.Mutual of Omaha

1 starSo very glad and thankful I looked up reviews. So I will NOT ever do any business with this company, which is on the same level as the other sorry companies that are allowed to exist by our government for I don't know the reason. Stealing is stealing no matter how you spell it.Review fromTana M.

A guy showed up at my house claiming to be with Mutual of Omaha saying my husband had inquired about insurance and asked me to verify the info he had on his iPad he was holding in his hand was correct. I wouldn't. I called my husband and asked if he knew anything about this and he said no. When I told him that he again asked me to confirm the info on his iPad was correct. I said no, we're not interested. All of this was captured on my doorbell camera. I called the nearest office and spoke to Lisa L*****. I explained the situation and she said she'd speak to her manager and if he wanted the footage she'd call back. She said the guys name wasn't familiar to her but he could be a broker. I said he didn't say he was a broker but a senior advisor, I think it was but definitely not a broker. He also didn't give a business card like she said he would have. All he wanted was me to confirm my husbands info on his ipad was correct. She called back asking for the footage, I sent it to her. I asked if she'd keep me updated and she said yes. This was in December, just before Christmas and now she won't respond to any of my emails asking for an update. This guy either used to work for Mutual of Omaha or their system has been hacked because he had correct info for my husband although I wouldn't verify it I saw what his iPad had. I'm concerned about this and also wanted to let them know there might be a guy pretending to work for them preying on innocent people. Some may fall for it since he did have correct info. Question is, how and where did he get it?? I think it's extremely unprofessional of Lisa L***** to ignore my emails. So someone from corporate can respond to my email that would be appreciated.Mutual of Omaha

1 starMy father has paid for a LTC policy with Mutual of Omaha since 10/2010. He has paid faithfully and timely without incident. Due to an acute life-threatening event, he sadly needs to use the benefits. The company that manages the policy, Illumifin (St. Paul, MN) has made the last 8 months very stressful for our family! The incompetence and lack of follow through from the customer service/claims departments are sadly a reflection on Mutual of Omaha (MOA). By reading the numerous poor reviews I have seen on the internet, MOA is clearly aware and supporting this nonsense! Some of the biggest concerns are:
1) inconsistent information provided by customer service/claims
2) when customer service/claims cannot provide an answer, I am told I will have to wait 24 to 72 hours for a returned call from a supervisor. To date I have NEVER received that call (4-5 requests)
3) they send letters that actually make it to the recipient two weeks or more after the date of the “time-sensitive” letter
4) customer portal is not kept up-to-date and many letters & documents are received via US mail that cannot be viewed in the portal
5) documents needed for payment are routinely “not received” resulting in numerous faxes, and repeated phone calls to customer service and my father‘s providers
6) my father uses independent providers, and they conveniently do not pay the full reimbursement, but do not ever tell you why and it is left up to the recipient to figure it out
7) they waited until 14 days before my father’s use of policy is due for renewal to get documents from his primary care. Although it is poor planning, they have made it my job to make sure this gets to them in time for renewal or my father will not be reimbursed in paying his home care provider
As a medical social worker, I have been dealing with system barriers for more than 30 years and have never been as disgusted and frustrated as I am navigating this process. I would not recommend investing in Mutual of Omaha.Review fromMarie C

Hello Dear People-
Happy Holidays & God Bless
DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT give Mutual of Omaha ONE PENNY of your hard earned income toward a short or long term disability policy!!!
What a horrific nightmare!! They are a cruel and inhumane company with no regard to anyone's struggles. IMO they deliberately have you submit documents over & over, take FOREVER to review then present you with another set of criteria playing the LONG GAME so that we are in such dire financial straights with no income, no help AT ALL. I finally had to say Uncle - I give up forced to return to work whole still horribly ill. I had a 90 day claim!!
It is my hope and personal opinion Mutual of Omaha has so many terrible reviews they end up with no participation and go under - so not one more of our brothers & sisters in this world suffer again - it was that AGONIZING. I am in my heart a kind, friendly, patient person this is my first bad review at 58 years old!
Lastly there are reputable companies that will just pay you imagine that! MOA in my opinion is a fraudulent, greedy and heartless organization.
Thank you for listening!Mutual of Omaha

1 starStay as far away from this company as you can. My mother has been paying on a 10,000 dollar life insurance since April 2006. She has been paying 507.52 every 6 months since then. As of October 2023 she has paid 17,255.68. She is in an Assisted Living now and so I have taken over her finances. I called Mutual of Omaha after looking online and seeing her payout amount if canceled would be 5500.00, but if she died she would get 10,000.00. I thought this is insane for her to continue paying this when that 17,000.00 will just keep climbing and all the policy is worth is 10,000.00. So I called to cancel the policy and they sent us a check for 5500.00. I just called them today to see if they can get me a copy of the original contract she signed, then I proceeded to ask the representative to explain to be where all that extra money goes. She wasn't sure so I had to hold while she went and asked someone. She came back and told me that the money over the 10,000, is the fees for keeping the policy open. Yes, you heard that right. So I asked okay, we got a check for 5500.00. Where does the other 12000.00 go that we paid into it? She informed me again that the 12000.00 was to keep the policy open. Yes, I am in shock and disgusted. What a racket! I do understand that money needs to be made, but this is insane!! Stay far away from this company!!Review fromTracey G

This company has been holding a check I sent them for two weeks. I made several calls to them and still nothing has been done. Stay away from this institution. They do not accept checks electronically. The processing department is awful! I’m at the point of contacting FDIC and attorney General.Mutual of Omaha

All this week I have contacted this business because I was in the hospital, and I contacted the Omaha hospital claims department and I spoke with someone who claimed to worked for the company for 30 years. I waited a few days and I called again and I spoke to a Kira and she was not in Mutual Omaha Claims department. I called again and spoke to the Supervisor and she claims that they sent a check to St. Mary's hospital. I paid for my hospitalization stay with St. Mary's hospital. I was in the hospital from 09/20/2023-09/22/2023. I was lied to by three different people about the the bill being paid at St. Mary's Hospital.Mutual of Omaha
